Me and my partner have just returned from a long weekend stay and we were beyond excited for our trip. We had booked a private pool room as it was our anniversary and we thought that it would be a nice touch for us. When we checked in, we were given our room number and shown to our room. Once me and my partner stepped outside onto the terrace, we noticed that we had been given a sharing pool room and not the private pool room that we had booked. I went down by myself to speak to the man on reception to explain that we were not in the room we had booked and being an ex travel agent and someone who is currently working for a huge holiday company, I knew that this was not correct. The man on reception said to me that there was nothing he could do about it and insisted that the room we had been given, the sharing pool room, was more expensive and therefore better. When I returned to the room, I searched up both rooms on the website to find out that both rooms were in fact the same price and I was a little frustrated with the way the man had spoken to me. Me and my partner then went back to reception and when I was asking the man questions, he was answering them but looking at my boyfriend and not me, the person who was speaking, which both of us found extremely rude. The man could not say why we weren’t given the correct room and why we could not have this room that we had booked. He did however tell us to return to reception the following morning to discuss it then, which we did. The lady we spoke to the following morning was wonderful, she explained to us that it was an error on their end and that someone had been given our room by accident. She apologised profusely and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. We appreciated her honesty and although we weren’t happy with the room change and how we weren’t told prior to finding out ourselves, she did definitely make the situation better with her honesty. One thing I will mention about the sharing pool room is that the pool is not heated like the main pool during October. Having paid more money for this room than a standard room, you would hope that the pool would be treated the same as the main pool. The pool felt like it was as cold as ice and this meant that we rarely used the pool which was once again frustrating. On our final day, our flight home wasn’t until 11pm so we had booked a standard room as we had to check out of our original room at 12 and we wanted somewhere to put all of our belongings and somewhere to shower before the flight. The only thing we noticed about this room was that when we were showering, if you turned the water warmer, the pressure would get worse to the point that if you put the water fully onto hot, the water would quite literally just trickle out. Im not sure if this was an issue with just this room or all of the standard rooms and although it didn’t bother us too much as we were only there for one day, it may have if we were there for longer. Things to note about

Three persons in our group and we had a good holiday. The problems encountered were - 1) despite booking in February 2023 for a holiday in September 2023 we did not get the two rooms booked but were given what they deemed an upgrade but it was a self catering one bedroom apartment with a further bed in the kitchen area with one bathroom and a further shower room - if we wanted to share a room we could have booked this apartment and probably saved several hundred pounds. We had to accept this so called upgrade because we were told the hotel was full!! 2) Despite booking all inclusive there were only certain areas that offered food and certain areas treating us differently for drinks - for example we would sit at a table and were ignored but if other persons paying on the day sat at a table they were served immediately with drinks and food - we obtained our own food and drinks.

Visited this hotel during our stay in Rhodes as it is open to the public and what a fantastic place it is. For only €5 for the day you can rent a sun lounger at Villa Di Mare, these loungers are super comfy with thick padding too! You get full access to the swimming pool and there is a beautiful sea view on the beach where the hotel is situated. Whilst we were there, we were waited on by the friendly and helpful staff who brought drinks to our loungers without even having to move from the loungers! The cocktails were beautifully made and bottles of beer were brought out in a bucket filled with ice to keep cool. Excellent service and friendly staff made the experience even better. We decided to make a reservation at the restaurant for our tea that night as the menu looked very nice. Whilst there for tea, we both ordered the special that was on offer which was a ribeye steak served with veg and sweet potato fries. The meal was fantastic and perfectly cooked. We were also recommended a bottle of red wine by the very helpful and friendly waiter, which this paired with the steak perfectly. We ordered puddings and then cocktails at the bar which were also fantastic. Overall a great experience and I would recommend Villa Di Mare to anybody visiting Rhodes. If we do return again we would book to stay at Villa Di Mare as the rooms looks exquisite!

The staff at reception were very helpful. Julian was very understanding when I explained that the room we were allocated was too far from the main hotel for my wife to walk. He changed it straight away. The hotel was very comfortable with pleasant public areas. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the towels were of a very high standard. I cannot comment on the food or AI as after reading the very harsh reviews we went room only which we regretted as there was nowhere to eat close by. The bar was expensive if you were not on AI ,a beer was 8 euros. The bartender was not a happy person. The town was easily accessible. Taxi 10 euros and bus was 5 euros return. I felt that many reviews were extremely harsh and unfair but it is easier to criticise than be correct. All in all we had a great time and it was excellent value for money.

We've stayed here at the beginning od July. The room was located at the main building. It was very spacious with a huge balony and good working air condition, but with outdated bathroom. Great swimming pools and aquapark but could be more sunbeds. The food was good. There was also swimming pool bar with some snacks and ice cream. The wine, beer and drinks were ok. The stuff was friendly. There is a car rental office at the hotel. They have good price and are very helpful. The hotel is well located, 10 minutes by bus from the airport and 20 minutes from Rodos old town. The bus stop is next to the hotel. The airplanes frequently approaching to the airport weren't disturbing and watching them was a kind of attraction for us. I think the biggest problem for the hotel owner is the sewage area located at the central point of the hotel area. It is well hidden with beatiful greenery but the odour is bad. Fortunately, it smells bad only at the close distance to that. Rodos island is great. We recommend to visit old town Rodos, Lindos town and Filerimos mountain and monastery.
