Our stay at The Edition was beyond fabulous - the entire experience is curated start to finish with the customer in mind, and no detail has been overlooked. From the warm and genuinely sweet staff offering a welcome cocktail to the spectacular breakfast buffet, the beautiful and cozy atmosphere in the lobby and guest room, the rooftop terrace, the amenities in the room and the artistic touches throughout, we enjoyed every single moment of our time here. We even got to visit the stunning speakeasy, Tölt, on the recommendation of the amazing staff. My only regret is we didn’t have time to visit the spa, which I understand is extraordinary. The location is perfect, as well - right next to Harpa, with a fantastic little shopping arcade and food hall in the adjacent building. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here when in Reykjavik!!

The room was clean, quiet and well located. Having parking on site was really handy. The staff was extremely helpful, gave excellent recommendations to places, and were very patient and cheerful. There is a great bakery nearby. Only word of caution is that there is construction in the street (down the road) that will affect getting accurate driving directions from map apps. It is a big project that looks like it will take many months. It doesn't prevent access to the hotel, only that you have to be creative in getting there from certain directions.

I've stayed in the best hotel in Iceland. Once I entered the lobby, It looks like I'm in a room where the president will live, very European. The price and location are good, and I was lucky to stay. The room was clean and tidy, and the toilet was large. Washing is a French brand. The room aspect was good. But the check in location is different from the house you are staying in. My room is a 5 minute walk. I ca n’t open the door of our house, they wo n’t come over to see you, I want you to try again and call them again if there is a problem. Finally, they responded that there were some problems at the door of our house. Because I stayed for two days, I never tried again It's a problem. But if I come again, I will choose this one again.

1. This hotel is booked for its tower scenery. The price of the landscape room is much more expensive, but if you really go to the scenery, there is no scenery. The window glass is very dirty. You do n’t want to look when you look out. Besides, Reykjavik itself is very small, and really traveled to Iceland, the scenery outside the window is really very general, there is no freshness to see the relatively ordinary scenery outside the window2, the location of this hotel is good, in Central area, but it is inevitable that another hotel with a better rating, Midgardur Hotel. In contrast, the two hotels are located in the central area, very close to each other, a five-minute walk. Midgardur Hotel does not have a view room. Great hotel. Faboulous size family room for 2 adults and 2 teens- proper big and comfy beds for all and no sofa beds! Lovely buffet style breakfast with hot and cold food. We like the location which is about 20mins wslk to town centre but local to fantastic swimming pool with lots of thermal springs of varying temperature. Hotel had free parking so was very convenient for us with hire car. Spa within hotel was also a bonus. Resturant and bar within hotel served great food. All staff was friendly and helpful. If we ever go back to zIceland will definitely stay here again.

We (with another couple) stayed at this absolutely not an inexpensive hotel for four days. Here is what we got it: Positive: It is almost in the center of the old town and conveniently accessible to many restaurants and sightseeing spots. The front-desk clerks are all very friendly and helpful (we only see one staff at a time during our entire stay, no other staff was in the hotel). Negative: Overall, I am not sure it should be called a hotel or a small motel (but nice one). The later appears more appropriate to me. There are many elements as a hotel are missing there such as: no breakfast available, no microwave, basic amenities are there but no tissue box unless you ask for; we were on the third floor, you have to keep the blinds down or the residential neighbors could see you in the room, their windows are only less than 30 feet away; the hallway are absolutely dark no natural lights in and the air is stuffy and kind of smelly; the shower water when in use is always leaking thru the shower door (I think a design issue) and you have to use the bath towels to stop it spreading which you are provided only two at a time. No breakfast available at all. I had the Marriott customer services to call them for vouchers since I have the “privilege“ of free breakfast and they promised at the time of booking. But it was denied at check-in; there is no front entrance door on the street, the entrance is in a unnoticeable ally on the side of the building. From the street you don’t even see there is such a hotel out there. And don’t know why the hotel sigh is so small printed on the corner of the glass wall that you will never see it without asking around for. Sidebar - One advice, if you really want to stay at this hotel, please take a taxi for the airport transfer, do not use the Gray Line Bus which is listed in the hotel website links and you will not regret paying extra for the taxi, just trust me! Have fun in Reykjavik!

The location is very good, just next to the city hall. In fact, the first stop of the airport bus is at the city hall, a three-minute walk away. There are restaurants and supermarkets next to it, very convenient. You can walk straight across to the famous Hallgrim's Church. On the left is the pier, where you can sit and wait for the aurora. My friends and I wholeheartedly recommend Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura for its excellent customer care from its hotel manager down to front desk personnel, including restaurant staff. We had a rocky start upon check-in but the manager on duty, Mr. Kjartan, resolved the situation to our delight. A very, very special thanks to Manager, Mr. Kjartan, who made our stay comfortable by responding to our particular room choices and necessities. He was most considerate. The three of us who booked two rooms can’t thank him enough for making our stay truly enjoyable and comfortable. Communication with the hotel directly via email and in person was efficient and most pleasant. All of the front desk and spa personnel were professional, welcoming, and helpful. To name a few, Saska, Michaela, Gene, Emma, and several others whose names escape us at the moment were very helpful. The longer we stayed, the friendlier and more approachable they became. Breakfast was ample. Pauline went out of her way to warm up some milk for my coffee each morning. True that an omelette was not available but the scrambled eggs compensated for it. Lots of different pastries and breads, fruits, bacon, vegetables, waffles, and so. many other delicious items for breakfast. Our rooms were cleaned well daily. Hot shower and/or soaking in a tub cured our tired feet and knees. Amenities at the hotel, especially the pool, sauna, steam room, gym, etc. were so well managed and they were attractive in appearance and clean as well. The lobby had original wooden sculptures designed and made in Iceland. It was a perfect place to stay for 8 days in Iceland. Walk towards the Bus Terminal to reach downtown by walking and you’ll get there in 15 -20 mins. passing by houses and apartments - a very pleasant walk. Or get the bus right outside the hotel for 490 kronin (ISK).

The hotel is in the central area of Reykjavik. The shopping mall is very popular when you go out. The most worthwhile one is that the Clinton hot dog is right next to the hotel. The door is relatively low-key, but there should be no holes as soon as you enter it. The orange retro design is very accentuated, and the household items are also five-star standards. Breakfast must be praised! Rich in variety, delicious in taste and balanced in nutrition, it is totally suitable for Chinese tastes. The only small regret is that the gentleman at the front desk did not help us successfully book the flybus, so we waited for 40mins in the cold wind ... anyway, a really good art hotel.

Hotel Odinsve is a great place to stay—excellent location close to everything, very good restaurant on the premises, and warm, welcoming staff. However, I strongly suggest not booking a single room. I had probably the worst room in the hotel—103. The sulphur smell from the water was very strong and never dissipated in the small room. Although I asked for directions to operate the heater in my room, following these didn’t produce any heat, so the room was cold. The duvet was smaller than the mattress and didn’t cover the whole bed. I had a dismal “view” of another building, roof, fence with peeling paint and a dead tree. I peeked into other rooms, none of them singles, when the doors were open and saw much nicer accommodations. When checking in, I asked about a different room and was offered a single with a view that had been renovated. But it had a very narrow single bed and no mini fridge. I asked about a fridge and learned that even though the website says all rooms have mini fridges, that is not true for single rooms. I would definitely stay at Hotel Odinsve again, but never in a single room.

Hotel was clean, and overall nice. Free breakfast was very nice and had a wide range of food (bread, yogurt + toppings, make your own waffles, beans, eggs, coffee & tea); there is also a communal fridge on the 2nd floor. However, a few VERY IMPORTANT things to know regarding this hotel being self-service: 1. You are supposed to receive an entry code to get into the hotel 24-48 hours before arrival. We did not know this as we had booked through a credit card rewards program. We arrived to the hotel through the parking structure and were met with a key pad and a sign saying that all guests should have a code in their email. We called two numbers for the hotel and could not reach anyone - so we just called constantly and sat outside the building door for ~30-45 minutes. Finally some guests left and held the door open for us so we were able to be in the lobby. It was around 6pm which is when the bar opens up, so we were finally able to find a staff member who helped us. Our credit card company also finally got in touch with someone and we received our email with the code. So FYI - if you have not received a code within 24 hours, make sure you reach out so you have time to get into contact with the hotel as they do not appear to answer their phones all the time (email may be more effective). 2. The parking structure is difficult to park in - it is an underground structure, so just be prepared to park in a slightly tight space. However, the parking structure leads directly into the hotel which was very nice! 3. As it is a self-service hotel, we were having trouble opening and closing our door (we couldn't get it to lock). We were able to ask the man tending to the bar for help; but he was only able to do a temporary fix; I feel at a non-self service hotel we may have been able to get a different room with an appropriately functioning door. We just had to use lots of strength and make lots of noise to slam the door shut to lock it - not the biggest deal, but just a small note. 4. Just an FYI that this location is not in the city center of Reykjavik (you would have to drive or take the bus to get to the city center). This place is more residential, with grocery stores (which we went to) etc. We had stayed in a hotel in the city center earlier in the trip; and this was a very different spot of Reykjavik. Just FYI that Reykjavik is massive! Overall nice, clean hotel - but the self-service aspect does have its pros and cons (you just don't have the 24/7 support you might have at another hotel when little things go wrong etc.).

Location is across from the Harpa, very close to Bus stops for tour pick ups, 5-10 minute walk to fantastic restaurants and shopping. Rooms on smaller size with wall shelves for storage and a little worn out but are clean, showers hot, full amenities. Breakfast hearty and really enjoyed the baked granola bars! This is the best hotel I have stayed in for more than ten days in Iceland. The hotel is located on the main street where all tourists are strolling. The rooms are large and the kitchen supplies are readily available. Lying on the bed and watching the street visitors look through the floor-to-ceiling glass in the room. We stayed for a week at this hotel? It is perfectly located. Out room as a good size and even had a bath. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant and breakfast is not available but there are many place within a very short walk at which to eat. I would recommend it.

We stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights. 2 adults in 1 room, 1 adult/1 child (8) in another. Breakfast was good, seemed to be on par with the other 2 hotels we stayed in southern Iceland. We didn't have any issues with the Irish Pub being loud, but we stayed Sunday- Thursday. We arrived at 7am on Sunday and within around 90 mins they let us check in early (for a fee, but so worth it after an overnight flight). We asked quite a few questions and all staff were always so helpful. Our last night we missed our Northern Lights tour pick up and the woman at the front gave us a tip to drive to the lighthouse and see them...and we did! Location was great for waking around and parking. Recommend.

Stayed in this hotel after moving from the Nurderey Reykjavik Road. DO NOT CONFUSE THE TWO, which is in the middle of an industrial estate. This hotel was warm and inviting with friendly and helpful staff when we booked in at short notice. The room was clean and warm and was situated a short walk or bus ride to Reykjavik. Which is a beautiful place to visit. We loved it because it was so near a coastal road with stunning views. The breakfast was plentiful, quite continental. The breakfast room was clean, and always well stocked by the staff and they were pleasant. The reception staff, especially a lovely lady who was on the desk on Saturday 1 Feb was so helpful organising our coach to the airport when we moved hotels. Would we stay here again most definitely.

Stayed for two nights and had a very good experience. The kitchen is well equipped and the restaurant is also very good. It is suitable for some Chinese stomach passengers (can cook boiled noodles and boiled eggs). The location is 15 minutes walk to the city center and 5 minutes walk to the flybus connection point. The service is also very good, because the late check-in also sent the password for the entrance. The only downside is that it is a bit slow to wash clothes.

Two friends and I (all women of a certain age) looked for a small hotel easily walkable to tour bus stop pick up points. We decided on Skjaldbreid and could not have been happier with our choice. Bus pick up points 6 and 14 are within minutes of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered fruit, hot and cold cereals, meats and cheese, and wide assortment of breads. We were given ”to go” bags for an early morning tour departure. Coffee and tea are available until 8PM. The rooms are compact and tidy with ample storage for the suitcases and clothing of two who shared a room. We were happy to see a shower in the bath. The beds and comforters are soft and comfy. Some of the rooms face the street which can be noisy at night. This is not the fault of the hotel and the staff kindly provided ear plugs and eye masks which helped. Consider requesting a room toward the back. My only suggestion is that the sign on the front of the hotel be larger. We had difficulty finding the hotel when we arrived. All in all, the 3 members of my group were well satisfied with our stay at Skjalbreid.

I stayed here in March 2022 in three different rooms - I had complex travel dates - and all were excellent. The single size rooms were cozy (with a full view of the Hallgrimskirkja!) and the queen size room was wonderful. The kitchen was fully stocked and the smoothies were indeed fabulous! There's a shared bathroom but I never had to wait. The location is perfect and the staff are super helpful - Ingo even gave me a ride down to the Flyover Iceland in horrendous weather! I'd definitely stay again the next time I'm in Reykjavik.

Guesthouse Sunna is in a wonderful location, almost in the center of the city. The property is clean and well tended. Breakfast items were ample and good tasting. My major complaint is about the reservation process. The room is a ”Twin” with two beds. When I arrived with my daughter I had to pay an additional $45. The woman at the desk told me that I had to register my daughter in the initial reservation. I remember seeing no way to do that. As a result, I assumed that a twin room with two beds would allow me to include my daughter in the reservation. I don't understand why a Twin room with two beds can't accommodate two people.

This was our favorite hostel in Reykjavik and I wish we'd realized this sooner so we could've stayed again on our way back from exploring the countryside. The room and shared spaces were clean, and the breakfast was more than adequate. Our family of three had a private room with a shared bathroom. The wifi was excellent and so was the location. You really can't go wrong. We even found free street parking.

B47 is a great hostel. Christina, the owner looks after people's needs and is the most lovely host. My two friends and I have been staying here for almost a week and everything has been easy. The location in Reykjavik is perfect and easy to reach from the airport using Flybus. I had seen previous reviews complaining about cleanliness and got a bit worried before our stay, but can safely say that Christina and her stadd keep B47 very clean. I hope I get the chance to stay again.

This is where we stayed we found the place and arrived in the room the room was lovely and warm with the heating which was fantastic. It was lovely clean room and two lovely beds with clean linen on. There was a kitchen area and microwave with kettle was perfect little home for a few days. The shared toilet and and shower was lovely and very clean all the time. The shower was very spacious and had a lock so felt very safe in there being public very hot shower straight away. Felt very safe in there at night with both doors locked and windows Iceland I felt was one of the safest places I have visited and very friendly people so I just felt at ease at night and could sleep easily. The room was very quiet after ten ish and no noise outside aswell so very good sleeps every night. Thank you

We stayed here a couple of nights in early September for a pre-cruise stay. Clean, comfortable (we opted for the slightly larger room) and a great location near the waterfront area and walking distance to the old town part of Reykjavit. They accommodated an early arrival due to our flight schedule, which was appreciated. There is a connected cafe and coffee bar which was very convenient. There are some off-site parking garages (rented a car) which are OK, but a little expensive and if it is raining, not real convenient. They said they had storage lockers, but because they provided an early check-in, we did not need them, so I am not sure if they are on-site or not - if they are the ones in the parking structure, they are definitely not sufficient. Although we do not see us returning soon, if we did, we would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, quiet and well located. Having parking on site was really handy. The staff was extremely helpful, gave excellent recommendations to places, and were very patient and cheerful. There is a great bakery nearby. Only word of caution is that there is construction in the street (down the road) that will affect getting accurate driving directions from map apps. It is a big project that looks like it will take many months. It doesn't prevent access to the hotel, only that you have to be creative in getting there from certain directions.

The name of the hotel speak for itself. Fantastic experience as we managed to catch the northern light right at the hotel itself. Tho hotel looks aged (might be due for refurbishment), overall is ok with all the necessary amenities. Staff were nice. We told them we had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight and wouldn’t be able to go for the breakfast which was provided for. The staff offered and arranged the breakfast to be prepared early for us. So nice of them.

We'd had a long first day of traveling and sightseeing after entering Iceland, and we stayed at Anita's Guesthouse. We were greeted by Anita upon arrival and she was very kind to show us to the lower level of the house where the guest quarters are located. We had the first room inside the door, and it was great for our stay. There are two shared bathrooms, and I believe 3 or 4 rooms total at the guesthouse. We wanted to stay somewhere relatively close to the Fagradalsfjall volcano so we could easily drive there to hike the next morning. This was great for that! There is a small kitchen with some breakfast food available and a stove and kitchenware to cook if wanted. Would recommend this as a place to say for people passing through!

We stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights. 2 adults in 1 room, 1 adult/1 child (8) in another. Breakfast was good, seemed to be on par with the other 2 hotels we stayed in southern Iceland. We didn't have any issues with the Irish Pub being loud, but we stayed Sunday- Thursday. We arrived at 7am on Sunday and within around 90 mins they let us check in early (for a fee, but so worth it after an overnight flight). We asked quite a few questions and all staff were always so helpful. Our last night we missed our Northern Lights tour pick up and the woman at the front gave us a tip to drive to the lighthouse and see them...and we did! Location was great for waking around and parking. Recommend.
