"The staff is incredibly kind and professional and helpful! kudos to being so smiley. The hotel is very modern and sitting right on the water. The restaurant is literally overlooking the ocean and really very nice. It’s a beautiful venue. The rooms are rather small but functional. Aircon worked and the room was clean. Not the best mattress but it was alright for one night. Only downside is the smell of humidity and drainage but this seems common in this part of the world as well experiences that almost everywhere we went. Overall a good experience and very convenient to sleep at before doing the whale sharks and also near the ferry terminal to go to Panglao. Just a tip, if you’re a person with mobility issues please ask them to give you the ground floor room as there is no elevator access to get upstairs."

"HONEST EXPERIENCE and Please read for the CONS🧡 Bluewater Sumilon Island is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful resorts we’ve visited. The private island setting, surrounded by clear waters, creates a unique and relaxing experience. We also appreciated that the resort provides complimentary boat transfers for checked-in guests. The transfer was smooth, organized, and only took around 15 minutes. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with complete amenities and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Although our assigned room was quite far from the main areas, the resort’s shuttle service helped make transportation easier. The food exceeded our expectations. Both dinner and breakfast were served buffet-style, offering a wide variety of choices. Everything was well-prepared and enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was the staff. The activity guides, lifeguards, restaurant staff, and service personnel were consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They were approachable and attentive to our requests throughout our stay. We also had an unexpected medical situation involving one of our senior companions, and we were grateful that there was a nurse on duty. The assistance and care provided were professional and reassuring, especially since the incident happened in the evening. However, there were also areas that could be improved. Our experience with the reception staff was disappointing compared to the excellent service provided by the rest of the team. Communication felt rushed, and at times multiple guests were being addressed simultaneously, which came across as unprofessional and less welcoming. The resort shuttle service also seemed overwhelmed during peak hours. With many guests needing transportation around the island, waiting times became longer. Adding more service vehicles could significantly improve convenience, especially for seniors, children, and guests with mobility concerns. Our biggest concern was the lack of exclusivity despite the resort’s positioning as a premium private island destination. The resort accommodates a large number of day-tour guests who share many of the same facilities. As a result, areas such as the sandbar, swimming pools, and lounge spaces often felt crowded. There were times when finding available benches or fully enjoying the facilities became difficult because of the volume of day visitors. For a resort that markets itself as a luxury private island experience, this was quite disappointing. While we understand the value of day tours for the business, overnight guests paying premium rates should ideally enjoy a more exclusive experience and better access to resort facilities. Overall, Bluewater Sumilon Island offers stunning scenery, excellent food, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service from most of its staff. However, improvements in guest exclusivity, transportation availability, and front desk service would greatly enhance the overall experience and better justify its premium pricing."

"We stayed for 4 nights. Pros: great location, right on the beach. Lying in the evenings and listening to the sound of the sea is always pleasant. There's a pool, sun loungers, and a bar/cafe also on the beach (it's all in the same area as the pool). The Whale Shark Swimming Area is a half-hour drive away. There's hot water in the showers and good pressure (after almost a month on various islands in the Philippines, we noticed that not every hotel has this). Reception offers excursions and mini-golf on site. Massage services are available. Pros: everything. Now the cons: terrible service. Even at the bar, you have to wait hours for food (for example, we ordered one dish per person and waited over 1:30). Cocktails, even simple ones, take a long time to make. The food is mostly tasteless. Once we ordered pasta Carbonara, but we couldn't eat it and decided against it. Room cleaning is only upon request, and that's not a big deal, but bottled drinking water is a real struggle. The surrounding area isn't cleared of trash. When checking out, we were given a bar/restaurant bill that was already partially paid, so check your bill and be careful. Overall: the place is good; if the hotel owners pay attention to service, it would be a great place."

"The hotel isn't bad. We wanted to swim in the pool, but the water was very cloudy; it was obvious they rarely change it. The beach area is tiny, and getting into the water is inconvenient. However, the service overall is very decent. It's about a 40-minute tuk-tuk ride to see the whale sharks. The room was clean, and housekeeping was done daily 👍 The staff are very friendly, thank you! 👍 The view from the room was amazing 🔥"

"The thing about the stairs need to be taken into consideration because it's A LOT of stairs. I really thought that people were exaggerating but it's almost a wall of China! completely worth it since you are down. Beautiful ocean! Full of turtles. and super comfy room. Best pillow in the whole Philippines. I was just upset because some guests were puting their music really loud on the common area, this is so disrespectful with others.. you can sleep with the sea sound and listen to the sea during the day unless people make you listen to Justin Bieber and pop USA music super loud.. the staff also listen to loud videos on their phone. .. so when I complained it was really hard for them to take some action and ask the other guests to put their volume down... The sun chairs are super comfy but only some of them are in the shade under a tree.. some umbrellas could be provided."

"The hotel is great. It's small, with only six rooms, which creates a really cozy atmosphere. It's tough to find hotels off the main road near Oslob. So, when I was choosing a place, I also considered easy access to the sea. It can be a bit noisy near the main road, but if you tune that out and just listen to the waves, it's actually quite nice. The pool is excellent, and so is the access to the sea (though you definitely need to wear water shoes, like everywhere else, as most beaches on Cebu Island are rocky). They offer food services, bringing delicious grilled seafood and amazing soups made from it. There's also a BBQ grill available. If you want to explore Filipino cuisine, you'll get a chance here. They offer transparent kayak rides, which are perfect for seeing the seabed. They also arrange tours for swimming with whale sharks and with sardines in Moalboal. The staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel owners also visit and oversee the staff's work."

"Great spot for relaxing and being right by the water’s edge. Host is friendly and welcoming and will make sure you have everything you need or want. Not a lot of amenities and food is brought down from a local restaurant and is of a good standard."
