Resorts in Vang Vieng

"I was first shown to the wrong room, and then had to remind them that I had booked the upgraded room. No issue though. Great bathtub but the floor to ceiling wall looked out to a dry, littered riverbank .. and the opposite hotel, which people could look through. There were blinds to close though, so no issue. Shower had about 20 cigarette butts in it. Breakfast was limited. Coffee had no milk options. Location was a bit of a trek from the middle of town, over 2 bridges on a bike. Nice quiet area though."

"The best hotel in Vang Vieng with a convenient location and beautiful mountain views.  The room is equipped with expensive furniture made of real Lao wood. A basket with towels is provided for visiting the pool.  A variety of breakfasts, both European and Chinese. On the terrace above the river, you can dine with a beautiful view and watch the soaring balloons and sunset. We stayed on New Year's Eve, and the general manager Pethantat Polsena organized a gala dinner with great dishes, champagne, a raffle and fireworks. Excellent guest oriented staff and excellent service!"

"Pros: - the pool is lovely - the room we booked was big and comfortable - you have amazing sunset / sunrise views of paramotoring and hot air balloons - the staff were very helpful Cons: - our room had a really strong drainage smell - the sound from the nearby paramotoring field and road is very loud, suggest to bring good earplugs We stayed two nights and that was a good amount of time for us!"

"The hotel’s in a nice location on the banks of the river and staff are polite and attentive. The breakfast is good and there is a varied choice of foods available.  Because the room’s French doors to the terrace/ balcony and the wooden door (leading directly from the outside) are old and ill- fitting, we had an influx of mosquitoes in our room and I was bitten during the night. Staff sprayed the room while we’re were out, but this was only a short-term solution. We ended up placing damp towels on the floor both inside and outside of the doors in order to try to stop the pesky visitors. We sprayed the room a couple more times and  the second night’s sleep was better than the first."

"This hotel was a bit of a mixed bag for us. Here is what worked and what didn't. Pros: Views: The property is stunning. It's wonderful to wake up and have the spectacular view that this hotel offers. The rice paddies are beautiful, surrounded by the karst landscapes. Breakfast: Server artfully and tasted very good. The coffee is great. That said, there is little choice and you can't ask for any extras (you will be charged). Location: Across from the main town, but we enjoyed it and everything is easily accessible. We walked, but they offer bicycles as well. Cons: Rooms: We booked a standard room which isn't on the rice fields. We knew this and didn't expect the view from our room. However, at the price point, we expected comfort and good sleep. The rooms are built over a swamp and mosquitoes get in through the cracks in the wooden floors. They had plug ins and provide mosquito spray to remedy this. However, the swamp is also home to many insects and frogs that make an incredible amount of noise at night. On top of this, there is a road right in front, so you get car noise too. Long story short, we asked to change to a quieter room or check out after our first night. The first offer was to pay $40 more to upgrade to a villa, but eventually they moved us there for free, which we appreciated. The villas are certainly quieter though still quite rustic. Service: Due to the above incident, while the service staff is lovely, the management appears to be just ok. Price/quality: Considering the priced in Laos, everything inside the hotel costs a lot but it's not a 5 star property, so things don't really match up. Ultimately, we had a nice experience once we were in the villa and were able to sleep. I'd recommend staying here for one night in the villa for the views or coming for a drink. But id not stay longer or choose the standard room."

"We had a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The peaceful atmosphere allowed us to truly recharge, and the views of the lake were simply stunning and calming. The restaurant in the evenings had a great selection of delicious dishes, the homemade ice cream is a must try! Breakfast needs to be replenished a little faster during busy times. Our room was comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the fast laundry service—fantastic quality at a great price! We hired a scooter as the resort is out of the centre of Vang Vieng, the road to and from has many potholes so be careful!"

"The environment is quiet, and the sky is full of stars at night. Although the location is a little bit biased compared to the city, it happens to be a good place to escape the world. You can communicate in English and the service is very intimate. We arrived late on the first day. When we arrived, we prepared dinner again. And there are cute cats in the yard, It was a worthwhile stay."
