Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

Let me start out by saying I am a former Omni employee. I loved the brand in San Diego and was excited for this birthday celebration I planned for my spouse. 2 nights, golf and spa. THE WORST EXPERIENCE not even 4 hours in. Got to the hotel around 7:30pm after a long day of traveling. Enthusiasm from front staff was non existent and valet wasn’t even open. Asked about the Spa and where to go for Golf in the morning and was just redirected to a map. No other assistance for the reservations I had made. Room was assigned. Upon entering the room (standard king) I felt things were off. The room itself was outdated, seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned well or recently. Like the room sat vacant. Stains next to bed headboard, bugs and dirt in the shower (tub) an AC unit that sounded like an old motor and carpet I didn’t feel comfortable walking bare-foot on. Tried to focus on the good. We left for dinner and when we returned and we’re getting ready for bed I just felt off. Sheets were pulled back and had what appeared to be black dog hair on them (it is a dog-friendly property) although we did not bring our dog. Then when I went to turn off the light between the bathroom and bed, I realized I needed to turn the light back in and there, right by the light switch was a LARGE cockroach. Not a flying cockroach or something that could have come in from the outside but a legitimate ~ 3 in cockroach. This is now 11pm at night. Called the front desk who was apologetic but gave us the solution of moving us to a new room. Not guarantee that it would be any better. As we sat there for a minute trying to collect ourselves after having to try and trap and kill the roach in our bathroom we were just over it. Upon notifying the front desk we weren’t comfortable they advised they’d upgrade our room for free (and $800 value). BUT there’s no guarantee those rooms were any cleaner. Nor the fact that we’d traveled all day and are now wide awake and exhausted. Ended up leaving and booking last minute 2x the price rooms just to have somewhere to sleep. Truly that was disappointing but what bothered be even more was that no one bothered checking in with us today to apologize or check-in. As guests who had planned in spending significant $$ golfing and at the spa, you’d think they’d care more about those that had a negative experience and hearing us out. Still have a $1,270 hold on my credit card. For anyone else I’m this situation that doesn’t have those funds readily available to leave and stay somewhere else, it’s just ridiculous. Truly disappointing and definite completely shifted a trip we had planned entirely at one resort.

Breakfast is not available at the hotel. Information is not available. The hotel has a car park for a fee of $15 a night. The hotel is suitable for families with children. In addition to the large bed, there is a sofa bed that can be opened in the room. The home is fully equipped with a microwave oven, dishwasher and induction cooker dryer. The hotel’s pool and recreational facilities are small, and the children are very happy. The gym is small and can only run and elliptical. The golf course where the hotel is located is still great and worth recommending. The hotel work is very kind, on Christmas Eve, they specially prepared a small gift for the children, although not valuable, but the heart is commendable.

Location: Rancho Mirage could be the best place to stay in the valley. It’s close to all the towns in the area and has great restaurants and shops. The HIE is really conveniently situated near shopping and with at least 5 or 6 restaurants within easy walking distance. Check-in / out and staff: Everything was great with the exception of check in. We arrived just after noon, and were told the room wasn’t ready. Asked them to please get it ready asap. Two hours later and still nothing. Another half an hour and I started to have a sense of humor failure. Really, is it not possible to clean a room in well over 2 hours? Highly irritating and unnecessary. Parking: Plenty parking round the hotel, free. Room: Really clean and well appointed. Large screen Tv, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Breakfast: The usual, with a reasonable selection of both hot and cold choices. Wi-Fi: Fluctuated quite a bit, but overall it was okay. (See test pic) TV and Air Conditioning: Both were new and functioned well. Stay again? Definitely. Whilst not cheap, unfortunately all hotels are relatively expensive in this part of the world!

Amazing people make the hotel my go to stay for my family. They are warm, friendly, and when given the chance to do their jobs deliver above and beyond expectations. The Staff have great respect for one another and also enjoy working together from what I have seen. I stayed over a week with my kids and they made it feel like an extension of home. The breakfast staff is amazing and deserves gratitude when dining as they keep things flowing and are always cheerful and willing to engage in conversation not just dole out standardized greetings. The front desk...1 out of 5 stars in performance and attitude. I teach my family to treat the desk like you're staying at your parents house or grandparents house. The rooms make a hotel but the staff makes stay Thank you guys again for everything!!

We met Mark Austria, one of the ****** hosts, a while ago at a different ****** and always invited us out to this ******, we finally agreed and we wish we agreed sooner! We stayed over the 4th of July week and it was one of the best stays we had in a ******. From the moment we checked in we were greeted with a smile. After we were checked in we were so amazed on the cleanliness of the rooms. To our surprise, Mark sent us a text letting us know that he made dinner reservations and gave us credit to their steakhouse in celebration of our anniversary. It was such an amazing surprise and we felt that not only was he giving us an amazing experience but also he paid attention to details and truly personalized our stay. The dinner was fantastic as well as the service. Throughout the night Mark made sure we were taken care of and answered any questions we had. Agua Caliente, you have a tremendous asset to your team, thank you Mark! We are already planning our second stay and can not wait to come back!
