We were two couples travelling thru Sicily for three weeks, we spent 3 nights here. A day prior to our arrival, I received detailed instructions regarding the various parking options. We parked in a lot about a five minute walk away and used the EasyPark Ap to pay for parking throughout our stay. We had to move our car the next day as the lot would be closed due to a festival. The area was going to be used to set off fireworks. The BnB is located down a side street not far from a large plaza and the Giardino Ibleo public garden. Located in the heart of Ragusa Ibla, we could easily walk to all the attraction and the area had many well priced restaurants. One can catch the bus to Ragusa Superiore here as well. Ragusas’ two towns are set on adjacent hills, the lower city is Ragusa Ibla, while the more modern town of Ragusa Superiore is set higher up the hill. Following our exploration of the two areas, I was very happy that I chose Ragusa Ibla as our home base. I knew that there was no elevator, so I booked rooms on the first floor. Both rooms were well appointed, immaculate and comfortable. One room was rather small, but it had a wonderful, outdoor sitting area, while the other one was larger and overlooked the alleyway. Both also had bar fridges, but the one in our room did not work. Breakfast was served on the third floor and it was plentiful with a nice selection. We preferred to eat on the large terrace located on the fourth floor that had fabulous views. We also regularly sat here, with a glass of wine or two, each evening after exploring and touring the area. Beer, wine and soft drinks could be purchased, but there is a Spar grocery store near the cathedral. There is also a safe in the room. Although located in the heart of Ragusa Ibla, our sleeps were tranquil and quiet. My only complaint – breakfast started late, at 830am, I am an early riser – yes, even when I am vacationing, and I would have like a cup of coffee. Fortunately, there was a small café a few steps from the BnB where I went each morning to enjoy my first coffee of the day along with a flaky croissant. Although our stay was wonderful, our enjoyment was somewhat marred by the distressing cries of a cat. We learned that an apartment was vacated and people left their cat on the outside terrace, it had nowhere to go and just paced and cried. We could see it, but could do nothing. I found it difficult to enjoy sitting out on the terrace. Overall, I highly recommend staying at this BnB. The location cannot be beat along with the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Homemade cakes at breakfast added to our enjoyment.
