Riu Palace Boavista - All Inclusive

Came home on Monday after a wonderful week at the Riu palace Boa Vista Cabo Verde. Missing the sun, beach and outstanding service by all of the staff. Hope to be back soon as this hotel is amazing! Food choice is great in the main Africa Restaurant. We tried the themed Steakhouse which was also fab. Rooms are spacious and modern and most have swim up pools. Entertainment is good, the Animation Tram work tirelessly day and night. The hotel is small and compact and great for people with poor mobility or wheelchair users.

What can I say other than wow, this place is amazing. Spent the best week being looked after and spending time in the sun. Food was fab, room was spotless, large and comfortable, staff were brilliant, special mention to Joao one of the entertainers, what a lovely funny and friendly guy, Cleiton in the Africa buffet who looked after us so well, always smiling and happy to help and Davey in the bar, really funny friendly and attentive. We ate in all 3 speciality restaurants but world have been just as happy in the buffet. My only complaint is there weren't always bananas at breakfast, i wouldn't normally complain but they tasted so much better there than they do at home. We did have a banana tree outside the room with bananas and I nearly helped myself! All in all this was the most relaxing holiday ever, no stress! Will hopefully be back again soon.

Flies everywhere, especially in the buffet area. some kitchen hygiene practices need attention (e.g staff digging fingers into food trays and lots of cross contamination with serving utensils. Scrag end cuts of meat on offer and very repetitive. Lots of cockroaches to keep you on your toes. Sunbeds mouldy and very uncomfortable around the pool areas. Gorgeous beach and fantastic weather. Unlikely to return.

Perfect holiday! Just had 7 days here with family and friends (30) of us. Room was very nice and cleaned daily , mini fridge refilled when required. Fantastic food at the buffet, staff are exceptional! Pools are lovely and the beach is beautiful. All the staff that I met during my stay were very polite and helpful. Had a very enjoyable day out around the island and visited a local school. The sand dunes and Santa Monica beach are stunning !

We booked a room with a pool as a treat for my birthday. We were so pleased when walking to the room to find it was on the end with lovely greenery with privacy and sunshine all afternoon. When we entered the room (Villa 45, room 4504) we were greeted by about 12 cockroaches all over the curtains and on the headboard of the bed. My husband got rid of them whilst I stood in horror and the cleaner came and left us a can of spray. We told reception and they offered to move us to a different room. However we said we had sprayed everywhere and would see how it went. In hindsight we should have moved there and then because they kept coming back and I found one on my bed sheet when I got up in the middle of the night. We moved to Villa 44 and immediately it looked and smelt cleaner. Again room lovely and we only saw one cockroach whilst staying there. Staff are helpful and friendly, restaurants are all nice, gardens are beautifully kept. Weather is perfect! Around 28 degrees everyday with a lovely breeze. Beach is great, not overcrowded and you can go for a lovely long walk. I would like to give a special mention to the young Irish TUI rep who spoke to customer services with me and was really understanding as she could see how upset I was over the cockroach situation. I would give the hotel a 4 out of 5 stars only for the issues on arrival and would like to think we’ll return at some point.

Usually visiting in February we decided to try during the Easter break and didn't regret it. Emailed before travelling and asked for 1 of a small row of rooms that we had been allocated before. On arrival check in took 5 minutes (pre-checked in online) and thanks to staff we were actually given the exact same room as last year. Half an hour later we were on the beach and had a late lunch. Weather, cloudy in the mornings but warm enough to be sunbathing on the beach, it grew gradually hotter over the week reaching low 30s. Very breezy but absolutely bearable - just watch for sunburn. I was on SPF 30 most of the time, but did drop to 15 later in the week and had a great tan. The hotel - staff - perfect. Clearly very well trained. Just enough chat to be interested but never chummy and intrusive - but happy to engage more if encouraged. Always polite, hard working and a credit to the hotel, whether restaurant, bar or grounds and cleaning staff. Beach - incredible, although wind caused sea to be too rough to enter. Pool was ideal and even though it was Easter break, children were very well behaved throughout and not overrun with them as some suggest. Sand, number of sunbeds, availability of towels, beach bar etc - great. Avoided entertainment but easily accessed if chosen. Drinks - optics in room and minibar more than enough. Pre-dinner drinks - Prosecco, cocktails, wine etc - all in plenty. Also, at meals, constantly topped up by the excellent staff. And to the food - incredible at every meal and at both the main buffet and lunch buffet. Never even considered the speciality restaurants as buffets were way more than enough. Freshness, quality, range - faultless at every single meal. Fresh fruit, freshly cooked to order, pre=prepared -all delicious. Flies? sometimes on some things, but what do you expect and never a problem. far more risk from guests licking fingers and handling utensils. Those who say it is samey - have clearly not learned how to handle such a buffet. If you have a bit of everything at every meal then it does feel the same. Choose different things each meal - there is way more than enough choice. Overall, can't fault this hotel if you want a 'fly and drop' holiday. Nothing really to do, although you could organise a whale watching trip (rough seas). but we wanted to sunbathe, read, eat, refresh before going back to work. Will definitely be back for visit number 5.

Well what a wonderful hotel so relaxing and staff amazing a special mention to Vanda in pool bar so funny and Heidi in restaurant Georgi in pool bars / evening bar as well also Angela our maid on floor 3 room spotless and lovely bed designs. Adele on reception also very helpful in fact every single menbers of staff always had a smile and a hello! I've never been to a hotel that was so clean especially toilets around pool bars and the entertainment team excellent. So friendly I don't know where they got their energy from loved the Aficia show and ABBA especially very professional well done them!! We will hopefully be back soon

We have just returned after a stay of 10nights at Riu Palace Boa Vista, fantastic resort & hotel. Couldn't fault anything. There isn't much to do outside the resort but if you want to simply relax unwind have good food/ drink, great weather and great entertainment this is the place for you.

Just back from 10 nights at the RIU Palace. We had a swim up room which we loved. Hotel is amazing - enjoyed the delicious food - a few flies around but manageable, bars were great, coffee bar really nice. Plenty of sun beds around the pools and on the beach. Staff a credit to the hotel. Entertainment each evening - we didn’t bother but lots of people did. Would love to visit again - a totally stress free holiday.
