C&D Hotel Quanzhou Reviews

I brought my family to Quanzhou for a trip and after looking around, I chose the Quanzhou Yuewha Hotel. It's a well-established five-star hotel, so I specifically booked a two-bedroom suite. The entire suite was convenient for looking after the elderly while still offering some privacy. The room was very spacious at 55 square meters, and the bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower. The toiletries like shampoo and shower gel were all from Atelier Cologne – top quality! I loved the 'Pomelo Paradiso' scent, it was so pleasant and refreshing. The toothbrush was their own brand, but the brush head was very soft and large; I even took it home after check-out to keep using it. The mattress provided good support; I don't think it was individual pocket springs as you could feel someone turning over, but when you're traveling, you can't be too picky, as long as it's comfortable. The suite also came with breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening happy hour light meals – we really couldn't eat it all! Breakfast was delicious, and we left full every day. My favorites were the seafood congee, vermicelli paste, peanut soup, and oyster omelet. The elders also gave it consistent high praise. We even tried the hotel's dinner buffet one day, which was around 160+ per person – excellent value for money! I just hope next time they cut the salmon sashimi a bit thicker and more generously, haha, as thick cuts are all the rage now. The staff here are very responsive; Miss C at the front desk and the uncle who cleans the rooms were both fantastic. There was an endless supply of bottled water in the room, so we didn't need to buy any ourselves. They also provided complimentary fruit and white fungus soup – too much to eat, haha! We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit. The transportation nearby is very convenient for getting anywhere.

The service was exceptional! They were very helpful, combining two twin beds into a large one for us, and the hairpin experience was lovely. The complimentary snacks were delicious too. Breakfast had a great variety, including local specialties and even dishes usually served at dinner – we looked forward to breakfast every day! The only strict rule was regarding children's height; pretty much anyone over 1.2 meters had to pay for breakfast and afternoon tea.

The 1.35m bed was very comfortable. The coffee machine, lemonade, and Qingyuan tea in the lobby were all great.

My friend and I visited Quanzhou during the May Day holiday. Since prices were steep everywhere – even a Quanji hotel was over 800 RMB – we opted for the seasoned five-star hotel, Yuewah (Xiamen C&D Hotel). I knew it was an older hotel, but the online photos looked decent. However, upon opening the door on check-in day, I was quite disappointed. We were given a room with a half-window (Picture 1), which looked very different from the deluxe twin room advertised online. I immediately called the front desk to confirm if this was indeed a deluxe twin room, and they confirmed it was. Personally, I really dislike half-windows, and the room's layout was also very different. Thankfully, the duty manager, Ms. David, promptly came to our room, offered to change our room type, and even took us to view the new room to ensure it met our expectations. She was very proactive in helping us, and in the end, we successfully checked into a satisfactory room. The new room was significantly more spacious. Although the facilities are older, they still meet five-star standards. Moreover, the breakfast at Yuewah is incredibly diverse. They offer Quanzhou specialties like Mianxian糊 (vermicelli paste) and Satay Noodles, both of which tasted excellent. There's a wide selection of fruits, pastries, and various other food types. The breakfast seating arrangement was also quite orderly. Overall, I was very satisfied with our stay!

I traveled to Quanzhou alone during the May Day holiday and booked this hotel. Overall, I'm very satisfied! **Environment:** The location is pretty good, at least it's close to all the places I wanted to eat at! The room size is average, and the bathroom might feel a bit cramped, but it's still fine. **Facilities:** I tried out the hotel gym and pool. They're small but have everything you need. The pool staff were incredibly friendly; they'd greet me politely when I arrived and left. I also noticed they were diligently observing guests in the pool to prevent any accidents, very responsible! The gym is sufficient for travelers to work off the guilt of eating too much delicious food. Towels and bottled water were always replenished promptly. **Cleanliness:** I saw the staff cleaning rooms and changing linens, and they were very thorough and responsible. **Service:** Excellent! I saw they offered a '簪花' (traditional hair accessory) service but was worried I wouldn't be able to book it last minute, but the front desk staff quickly offered a solution. Also, when I checked out, I left my headphones and charger behind, and they notified me very quickly. A little later and I might have already left on my bus, truly grateful! I must especially mention the breakfast; it was absolutely delicious! I ate two bowls of 'mianxian hu' (noodle paste) myself, and other hot and cold dishes were plentiful. They refilled food incredibly fast. If you don't have time to go to specific local eateries to experience the local specialties, this is more than enough!

Although not a new hotel, the facilities are well-maintained. They provided two combs and a Laifen hairdryer. However, the toothbrush from Yuehua shed bristles. The service was also great. The front desk staff saw that we had a baby and proactively offered a bed rail. The person who installed the bed rail also suggested the best direction for it and advised us to turn on the 'do not disturb' light to avoid disturbing the baby. They also offered snacks, a簪花 (hairpin-like ornament, likely a local craft or small gift), and there was someone at the entrance to help open doors. David (likely a staff member) also recommended local delicacies and a Quanzhou travel guide. Even though we didn't use them, it was a very thoughtful gesture.

Came back to Yuewha after three years, and the service is still as thoughtful and meticulous as ever. Every day, there are welcome fruits and snacks in the room, and milk and cookies are delivered every night as a late-night treat. Breakfast is still incredibly abundant, making it hard to choose – there's just too much delicious food to try! They offer Chinese, Western, Japanese, and even local Quanzhou specialties. The quality of the fruits and pastries at breakfast is outstanding, definitely not just filler. Every staff member I encountered at the hotel greeted me warmly, which was very comforting. Next time I come to Quanzhou, I will definitely stay at Yuewha again!

This hotel is high-end, and I've stayed multiple times, always very satisfied. The breakfast was good. The transportation is convenient, and the staff are all polite, warm, and attentive. It's much better than the airline hotel I stayed at before.

Booked a two-night package through Trip.com and was pleasantly surprised! The breakfast was especially delicious, offering all sorts of Quanzhou specialties like Mianxian paste, Shacha noodles, and oyster omelets, plus many other options. The hotel concierge helped us switch to a twin room, which was very spacious for two adults and one child. I can't remember the exact orientation, but our room had a view of the 'Ma Shang Cheng Gong' golden statue. They also provided flower hairpins, which made the two kids very happy to get ready and go shopping. It was a really delightful experience.

This hotel is quite close to Jinjiang Airport and is an established, reputable property. It was incredibly popular during the winter holidays, so I'm glad I booked two nights in advance. Overall, my stay was very satisfying. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, offering a great chance to try local specialties. The pool was also fantastic; the lifeguard was very friendly and attentive to the children playing in the water. While it's a bit of a distance from West Street, taxis are readily available. After a day out, I noticed a flyer at the entrance advertising a shuttle service... something to look out for during check-in! 🤣

This hotel is quite close to Jinjiang Airport, and it's very clean and tidy. The staff are warm and welcoming, making for a generally satisfactory stay. The hotel's breakfast buffet is excellent, offering a wide variety of Quanzhou's local specialties!

This is a hotel I didn't want to leave. I rarely post reviews, but I just had to give this one a good rating. 1. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, and even though it was packed during Chinese New Year, the service was very orderly. 2. When I returned to the hotel, I found that the housekeeper had already folded my pajamas and placed them by the bed – so thoughtful! 3. The snacks were also delicious, clearly chosen with care. If I have the chance to visit Quanzhou again, I'll definitely stay at this hotel.

My main feedback this time is about the hotel's housekeeping. First off, as an established local star-rated hotel in Fujian, the hardware facilities at Yuewah are indeed quite old. On the first night, I booked the 'Ai Ai Parent-Child Room' for over 2800 RMB a night. It didn't quite match the promotional pictures – there was no living room coffee table, only a play table, and no children's body wash. When I inquired at the front desk about children's toiletries, they said they only had children's toothbrush sets. I also noticed that the existing toiletries on-site had a production date of December 2024. Even with a three-year shelf life, that still feels quite odd. Furthermore, the linens are so worn out, yet Yuewah still hasn't replaced them. If you knew it was a five-star hotel, you'd be shocked; otherwise, you'd think it was a rural guesthouse. It's truly outrageous.

The hotel's location isn't particularly close to Sanfang Qixiang. Getting to Kaiyuan Temple takes about 18 minutes by taxi in the morning, to Guan Yue Temple 12 minutes, to the airport 24 minutes, and to Quanzhou Station 29 minutes. There are many good restaurants around the hotel, and the breakfast includes local specialties like satay noodles and mianxian糊 (a type of noodle paste), which were delicious. The staff were all very polite, and the cleaning service was prompt and thorough. They even have a robot for food deliveries, though its efficiency could be improved. The only issue was a peculiar noise in my 10th-floor room. It sometimes sounded like an electrical current, other times like a fan. Even though the soundproofing wasn't great – I could clearly hear other guests talking and staff knocking on the next door – there wasn't much traffic noise from outside the window at night. It was just that strange noise in the air. Since the hotel was fully booked, and perhaps due to its age, I endured this continuous noise for two nights. On the morning of the third day, I realized that everyone in my room, except the child, hadn't slept well. To pinpoint the source of the noise, I even opened my door to check the hallway, but it was quiet. I also searched through reviews, and some mentioned it being from equipment rooms, but my room was in the center of the floor, far from any such room. When I checked out, I asked the front desk, and they suggested it was the refrigerator, which also didn't seem right. Now, sitting at the airport writing this review, I'm wondering if the window wasn't closed properly the entire time, and it was just the sound of the wind. I'm still so curious!
