Best Restaurant & Hotel on 3-week high-end Chile Tour via Cascada Expediciones of Santiago. We booked a 3-week high-end Chile Tour via Cascada Expediciones of Santiago and this Restaurant & Hotel was the best we experienced. Booked this tour/room more than 1-1/2 years ago & Thank You kindly to Restaurant staff Maxi & Fredy & ??? AND Hotel staff Valentina, Mirko, Rene & Maria Jose & ???…and also to Daniel for specially sending out gaucho hat we forgot from the hotel to the airport before we departed…and coordinating shipping of expensive prescription sunglasses we forgot from the hotel to us…You are the Very Best…and we already plan to return!!!!! Tip: Book Here/Don’t Go Elsewhere!!

We stayed in the Stable room, was such a lovely room, so comfortable the bed was and enormous. A lovely view from the balcony, very creaky old house with a lot of history but beautiful. Loved it. Love the slippers and biscuits on the bed. No chance of loosing the key!

The hotel is a beatiful old house, very near the square and center of the town. The restaurante is the best in Punta Arenas right now and the staff is very nice and helpfull, specially because we traveled with kinds. My only commentary on room for improvement is that our room with very narrow (with little space between the bed and the wall) and some of the interior details were in bad shape.

Pack ear plugs. Whilst the room itself is “fine” and “rustic cosy” - don’t expect to get any sleep. Every step from the rooms above shudder throughout the creaking floorboards - every door bang is heard and every foot on the staircase reverberates. If you have one of the outside rooms - you have to contend with the noise of the passing pedestrian traffic too - many of whom will be playing with their dog or having a convo right outside your window. Don’t expect a TV either as this - they proudly claim - isn’t in keeping with the “nature” of their establishment. A ridiculous excuse if ever there was one. Internet wasn’t around in the in the 19th century but they provide that - so no reason for there not to be TV :-)

I was a bit dismayed when we arrived at the Yegua as the outside was a bit off putting and it was situated some hills away from the main square. But inside you get to enjoy its quirkiness. The staff all wear gaucho berets and are welcoming and friendly. All the rooms have different themes. Ours was La Teller (workshop) so the decor was that of a car workshop with Chevrolet plates, corrugated iron behind the bed and a set of tools over the desk. Even the bathroom had a workshop theme with a spanner acting as a toilet holder. The room itself is quite small and not really suitable for more than one night but we enjoyed our short stay. One of the best things about the room was the balcony which offered stunning views of Punt Arenas and the ocean with liners clearly heading for the fjords and Antarctica. The restaurant provides a traditional Patagonian menu and we ate there for both dinner and breakfast. Probably the most authentic Chilean food of the trip

Love local, family-owned historical hotels, and this one fit the bill! Friendly staff, intimate building, great window/balcony views. Its on-site restaurant is stellar (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and has an amazing view of the city and Strait of Magellan. Need reservations. Right outside the hotel you can climb the stair for a higher viewing point -- the best in the city IMHO. Rooms have shampoo/conditioner, soap, and a blow dryer and a much-appreciated heated towel rack. Large shower and good water pressure. Three Three or four blocks to the city square, 6-7 to the water. Some things to be aware of: 1) the hotel is located on a hill and you will have to climb stairs to access both the hotel/restaurant, 2) Some rooms are very small. We stayed in the Lechero, which was too small for my nephew and me. We would have booked a larger room, but the hotel was full. So, not the hotel's fault since we can read square footage, but just be aware, 3) Toilet paper is not flushed down the toilet, but placed in the trashcan. Didn't bother us, but may bother others. The hotels down by the square are not like this (we stayed one night by the main square because of our cruise requirements). Would stay here again.

Stayed here before starting on the W trek. Loved the eclectic room/hotel decor. Nice people. Great food. Good location a bit outside the city center. Would go back. Hotel on a hill and has stairs. Not a problem for us. Just sayin. Thanks again.

Hotel has character but I found the staff pretentious. As I was sleeping on first night, I felt a sharp poke into middle of my back. Found a piece of metal wire coming through the mattress and sheet. Restaurant employees not friendly. Early breakfast prior to 7:00am disappointing. Bad coffee, a small pre-packaged cupcake, and a couple of rotting fruits in fruit bowl. Dinner at hotel Restaurant. I ordered the King crab dinner. It was salty, dry, and pretty tasteless. Tasted like it was previously frozen, not fresh, and had freezer burn texture, (unlike the fresh king crab salad from a neighboring restaurant night before). I told the waiter there should be an accompanying salad. He just looked at me and said no salad. I pointed to the description on menu, then he grudgingly went to get the accompanying salad. Not a good dining experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cute, small, funky boutique hotel. The only reason I gave it a very good and not excellent was because both mornings I was there they did not being up my breakfast even though I ordered the night before (and confirmed) as instructed. The rooms are all different - my room has a wrap around balcony, a big king size bed, a desk, two leather chairs and a footstool. The restaurant is wonderful and the staff at the Hotel tried to be very helpful.
