Shari-La Island Resort

Good location of the hotel but the cleanliness of the room leaves something to be desired. A smell of humidity is added to this. Hot water didn't work and no wifi in the room. What a shame that this place is abandoned when there could be potential.

Great location with private beach. The hotel opened in 2008, the facilities are acceptable, the surrounding environment is good, you can walk to the long beach, there are small shops nearby

The room is very spacious, a single-family log cabin, the room facilities are relatively old, the toilet door is about to fall off, the quilt and bed sheets are not particularly clean, there will be some ants and mosquitoes on this island. The hotel service is not bad. When you arrive at the hotel, someone will help you take your luggage to the room, and after you check out, you will also help to send your luggage to the pier. There is a Chinese-speaking lady at the front desk of the hotel who is very nice. Meals in the hotel restaurant are very cheap, most of which are more than ten ringgits, but the variety of meals is a bit small, and the food is a bit aesthetically fatigued. There are a few cute kittens at the front desk of the hotel, and they have to pet them for a while every day, haha

Not bad, there is a beach below the hotel, and there are not many people on the beach, and there are many fish for snorkeling

This is the 6th time we have come to Shari la, the last one being in 2017. Nothing to say about the bungalow since we always take the same one, 402. We came for 7 nights. The hotel has expanded with new buildings on several floors and good news a swimming pool between these buildings. During the first 4 days the hotel was almost empty and the two of us took advantage of the swimming pool. On the other hand, for breakfast on the first day, no buffet as planned, just fried rice and 4 pieces of pineapple and orange (no sandwich bread, no eggs, no fruit juice) just "sorry ". The buffet was only served on the 4th day with the arrival of the locals. The dinner buffet we had experienced in the past was closed. So we were going to have dinner at Ombak (very good even if the food was a little spicy). As for snorkeling in front of Shari la beach, there is not much to see. It must be said that the construction of the new hotel next door must not have helped matters. Large barges with construction equipment which came to scrape the bottoms to dock. Work began in 2017 and the hotel is not yet completely finished. On the other hand, they built a new pier for this new hotel. So snorkeling here, zero and therefore a big disappointment.

At the time it would have been a luxurious accommodation, but now it lacks maintenance. They do not clean during the stay. The location is very good, next to the pier and with direct access to two beaches. The idyllic sunsets. Breakfast is good, with many oriental dishes.
