Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa

Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa

Puerto Princesa
This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.

Acacia Tree Garden Hotel

Acacia Tree Garden Hotel

Puerto Princesa
A group of us stayed here the night of arriving in PP before embarking our scuba liveaboard and chose the hotel as it was where the liveaboard company did a town pick up from. Simple accommodation, but clean and functioning. Very spacious rooms - we had 4 girls sharing one room with two double beds. The bathroom/shower was a little tired but I only had one quick shower. A pretty garden surrounding a pool - I didn't end up swimming as it was quite a hot, muggy, grey day and the pool was more warm than refreshing in that moment, but I also only spent about 18 hours total at the hotel so if I was there longer I would definitely have had some pooltime. It was cute watching some local kids have a mermaiding lesson. The restaurant is not set up for large orders so bear that in mind timing wise - it is a one chef kitchen. If you are landing at 7pm or later make sure you request the chef stay if you want dinner on site as they will otherwise leave at 9pm. The chicken & mushroom pasta was good. Breakfast was also good - fruit, pancakes and egg, but only instant coffee. I particularly liked the access to free drinking water refill - there is a cooler in the dining area. The staff were helpful - with the chef staying late for us, helping us call to book some massages down the road at Nuat Thai Spa, helping me get a bowl of rice for lunch when I tried to order when the kitchen was backed up we made a plan B. Location is a bit further down in the quiet end of Manalo St. It isn't far to walk up to the part with restaurants, coffee shops and the spa, but I probably wouldn't have done that walk alone as a female in the dark so I would stay here with a group more than solo. I'm sure it is very safe, but as a general rule of thumb I don't walk alone in the dark down quiet streets. After the liveaboard I stayed in the 'busier' part of Manalo St. Would I stay here again - well if in PP I would probably go to my second hotel as a repeat customer as it was just nicer all around (but also cost double the price). However, Acacia is perfectly adequate for the price point if you are looking for accommodation close to the airport or the boat pier in southern PP at a very reasonable price and it is true to the pictures.

We chose PPI because we wanted to stay in Puerto Princesa for going to the Underground River. You can stay directly there as well, but it was convenient for our travels, concerning our late arrival at the airport and our early departure from Puerto Princesa after two nights. Unfortunately the communication in advance was problematic. We had to wait for answers via e-mail for a very long time but finally they confirmed the late airport pickup and the tour to the Underground River. Nevertheless we waited at the airport and after some time decided to take a taxi because (as we only got to know afterwards) they wrote an e-mail when we were already on the plane (of course with no internet anymore) that it is not possible to pick us up so late. Then, upon our arrival, they informed us that they are not sure if we get the tour the following day as we wished. After some insisting from our side, it worked out and was a nice day though. The hotel itself has a nice and laid back atmosphere, with some street noise from the town. It is designed with taste and local influences. If you care about a comfortable bathroom, don't go there. Our shower curtain was very moldy and after complaining we got a less moldy shower curtain. Hot water is not always available and an uncovered power outlet is dangerously placed inside the shower. Don't bring big suitcases as there is little space for it. Wireless always worked and the breakfast with a view was a delight both mornings. The staff was very nice and polite.

Four Points by Sheraton Palawan Puerto Princesa

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience my companions and I had during our recent stay at Four Points Puerto Prinsesa. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a team of staff members who provided the warmest welcome one could receive after hours of travel. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff went above and beyond to assist us with our heavy luggage, setting the stage for an outstanding stay. The level of service continued to impress us during our time at the resort, especially during our interactions with the dining staff. The free breakfast buffet was a highlight, and when I noticed some items were missing, the response I received when requesting something off the menu was incredibly warm and accommodating. The staff assured me, saying, ”Sure thing sir, if it's in our inventory, we will try our best to make it.” Most of our requests were fulfilled by the kitchen staff without any hesitation. The pool area, in particular, left an indelible impression. The grande pool, strategically separated by a spectacular pool bar, provided a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. The bar staff at the pool were the epitome of hospitality, delivering impeccable service with a smile. The addition of three hot tubs of varying sizes & tempertures further enhanced our relaxation options, offering a perfect complement to the overall pool experience. The resort's gym exceeded our expectations for a hotel facility, boasting a diverse range of well-maintained equipment. It allowed us to maintain our fitness routines while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The spa was another highlight, offering an unparalleled level of comfort. Our couples massage appointment was a true highlight of our stay, providing one of the best massage experiences my partner and I have ever had. Following the massage, we were given the opportunity to unwind in a separate room where we enjoyed refreshing water and tea. This post-massage relaxation space added a thoughtful touch to the overall spa experience, showcasing your commitment to providing a holistic and rejuvenating stay. Moving to the beach, we were delighted to find it clear of sea****, with crystal-clear water inviting us to indulge in the natural beauty mixed with a glorious view of mountains surrounding the beach. A short hike to a secluded beach nearby added an adventurous element to our stay, offering a serene and private escape. We also had the pleasure of discovering a small outdoor beach massage run by a humble family close by, adding to the charm of the overall experience. Lunch and dinner experiences were equally delightful, and the flexibility of the kitchen staff in catering to our preferences made our dining experiences memorable. Even on a rainy day when we approached the beach, the security staff immediately offered us an umbrella to ensure our comfort. The excursions to the underground river and waterfalls were conveniently cl

The Crown Residences at Harbour Springs

Not bad. The swimming pool is large. . It is a bit biased. But you can get the jeep from 30p to Robinson mall. . Good overall. Just a little taste of the decoration. .
Citystate Asturias Hotel Palawan
4.2/537 Reviews
This place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.
Rema Tourist Inn
4.2/562 Reviews
Rema Tourist Inn is a pretty average hotel in Puerto Princessa, a solid 30 to 45 min walk to the main area of Risal Avenue or Baywalk area. Close to the airport, you can get a taxi from airport to the hotel, cost approx 600 php,you will need to negotiate. If trabelling alone, vet a trike/ tricycle for around 200 php. When at the hotel, you will need to wait at the front and hail a trike/tricycle mototaxi and pay between 100 to 150 php to get to the main area. There is literally nothing around the hotel apart from two convenience store huts about 10 meters away from the hotel. Also large malls accessible by trike. The hotel itself is overall nice, however more can be done to upgrade the rooms, bathroom area and the clenliness of the pool. Staff at the hotel are nice and friendly amd dont hassle you if you bring friends over. Rooms are dated with a mismatch of furniture mostly of an older type and the room is of a nice size with very cold AC, unfortunately the remote gets jammed and hard to turn on and off. There is only a fridge in the room and no kettle and or tea/ coffee making facilities. Overall good value for money and ok for a short stay. I hope this review is helpful : )
Alvea Hotel

Convenient location 10min away from PPS Airport. Central in town, easy to walk to nearby eateries and amenities. Laundry shop just 2min walk away, bakeries and eateries within a 5min walk. Super friendly staff and helpful reception. Free airport transfer is much appreciated too. Even managed to book an in-room massage for us! Only area of improvement is breakfast could be served faster, but otherwise tasty and good. Thank you for the lovely stay!
Cleon Villas Pension

Philippine hotels are generally available for extra beds. Breakfast is told one day in advance to tell the boss to eat breakfast time. They do not taste the taste. Everyone has a different feeling. It is also possible to get a lot of money from the nearby banks. It is very convenient to mention the nearby The roast suckling pig shop tastes good, salty, spicy and sweet.
Go Hotels Puerto Princesa

I've stayed in this hotel before, and I keep returning since it's affordable, safe, and has decent rooms and a spacious parking lot—features that other hotels in Palawan lack.I've recently noticed that they no longer offer airport service, although they have contacts for taxi drivers in case you need one. However, it would be great if they could add the airport pickup and drop-off once more for a hassle-free trip, especially for those visiting Palawan for the first time .Being somewhat honest, some taxis, vans, and tricycles take advantage of tourists by charging them more than the normal.
