Lovely hotel, great location for access to sandy beach, local bars restaurants and buses. The hotel was always clean throughout, staff were very helpful and mostly friendly. There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool area, and quite a lot of shady areas if you needed them. The bedroom was good size, with a recently renovated bathroom with walk in shower. There is a kettle/cups provided however you have to buy your own coffee/tea supplies as nothing is provided! The outer fridge door opened backwards against the inner door and was quite awkward and a tight squeeze by the bottom of the bed, but nothing that caused any real bother. The buffet restaurant was always well equipped although the evening meals felt a bit repetitive after a couple of days, however there was plenty of choice at both breakfast and evening meals. Be careful going in after 8pm though as often dishes weren't replenished and were often unavailable..at one point a member of staff was cleaning down the hot grill at 8.30pm whilst guests were waiting for hot food., despite the restaurant being open until 9pm. My only real issue relates to drinks in the restaurant. The hotel caters for B & B, Half-board and All-inclusive guests; we were HB and therefore had to pay for all our drinks in both the bar and restaurant, (other than breakfast where everything was included - hot drinks, juice, squash, milk etc) We were happy doing this, either paying at the time of purchase or signing to our room to be paid upon our departure. We generally had a bottle of wine with our evening meal, which we signed to our room. (the choice of wines and price were quite reasonable) On our 2nd evening in the restaurant my partner collected a caraf of still water from the counter that we had seen other guests having. We were immediately approached by a member of staff who told us quite abruptly that we weren't allowed the water as it was for All-inclusive guests only. I pointed out that is was tap water only but he just kept saying ”you are not allowed, All-inclusive guests only”. He then produced a menu and indicated to us the bottle water that we had to order, which we duly did, but felt quite embarrassed as other guests were staring and he made us feel we had tried to do something wrong! I should add that staff at the pool bar were more than happy to provide tap water free of charge throughout the day to all guests, irrelevant of what Board basis they were on, even filling customers personal drinks bottles for them. On one other evening in the restaurant I asked for a glass of Sangria, which was served from a pump along with beer. I was again told that I wasn't allowed as it was for All-Inc guests only- I said that I wanted to pay/sign for the Sangria, but was told that I could only buy it at the bar and was not allowed it in the restaurant! On the whole none of these issues would prevent me from returning to La Geria, however guests shouldn't be made to feel like 2nd class citizens just because t

Having stayed previously in a Diamond Resort complex on the Costa Del Sol we were hoping that Club Del Carmen would offer the same standard of accommodation and it did not disappoint. This is a fantastic small complex in a quiet area of Puerto Del Carmen literally across the road from a fantastic sandy beach. It is a short walk along the coast (5-10mins) to the start of the main ***** but there are bars and restaurants closer. The on site Baily Bar does fantastic quality food, well worth staying on site and having dinner here. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs, one bedroom opens onto a terrace with sun loungers. Upstairs there is a living and kitchen area, another shower room with WC, and a balcony with table and chairs. The kitchen has everything you need including a dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine, hib and oven and large fridge freezer. Plenty of equipment to self cater if you want to pans pots cutlery etc. The apartment also has iron and ironing board. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. The on site pool is small but the complex is small and the pool never felt overly busy. The sunbed booking system is great means that there's no mad rush. Never an issue securing beds but the complex is so small most people seemed just to bathe on their patio or balcony.. Also the option to have freshly baked pasty and bread delivered to your room is something we used every day. Overall it's a brilliant complex with a great on site bar and restaurant in a fantastic location. All staff were very helpful and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this complex. It was brilliant.

Just back from a 5 night stay. Can’t fault the staff, all lovely! Was in one of the older rooms, clean but very run down (broken socket in the bathroom where the hair dryer is) dangerous! Was told both pools where heated but only one was but that was fine we just used the heated pool as had two kids with me, the cold one was ice cold there was no way they could use it. First four days there was no problem but all of a sudden on the 5th day we were told the kids couldn’t use their swim rings in the pool! No rings or armbands!! They weren’t in anyones way as they where the only ones in the pool! The odd person would get in for a min or two though out the day. I was told they could use the cold pool with their rings but not the warm one! They could stay in the warm pool but had to take their rings off. So they had to just sit on the steps even tho no one else was using the pool! Was absolutely ridiculous

Nice apartment very close to the tourist ***** of PDC. Good shower and bed. Very clean. Quiet. Internet was free and functional. We ate in the restaurant twice for lunch which was nice. Didn’t try breakfast as it was too expensive. Access is via steep hills and lots of steps so not ideal for people with mobility issues but not a problem for our party. Pool was unheated so didn’t use it. If you like PDC then this hotel it worth a look.

After reading reviews was worried about what we had booked into, all I can say it’s what you make it and we had a fantastic extended family holiday. Yes lots of steps but our elderly parents managed fine even been up in the gods. Rooms very out dated and would benefit from some TLC, the views from the rooms are amazing looking out over the sea, absolutely beautiful to sit and relax with a brew in a morning and drinks in the evening. Pool is very deep but there is a small kids pool where ours played all day long with no issues. We were self catering but had many a brunch at the food bar and the food is excellent and reasonable. The resident ducks and one young seagull arrive when the pool closes at 6 which the kids found amazing taking pictures on their iPads. Lovely situated in old town with plenty of bars and places to eat. Life guard that was on during our week stay was fun and we had a good laugh with him. All I can say is no it’s not the Hilton but if it was you would be paying a way lot more. My advise if you have booked this is go and enjoy yourself a holiday is what you make it. I would book again for the location and views.

A fantastic location. We stayed in an apartment across the road from the main building. The apartment was clean and tidy. The fan in the bedroom kept us cool at night. There was no air con or fan in the main living area which made it very hot but we spent most time outdoors so it was not a massive issue. The pool bar was excellent and they had a great selection of drinks. A beer cost €2.50 in the pool bar but for some reason the hotel bar charged €3.00. The staff were all super friendly and cannot be faulted. If you come out of the hotel take a left and that is the easier way to get up and down from the ***** avoiding cardiac hill. Also on that route there is 2 spar supermarkets. We booked again for the same week next year.
Arrived boxing day. Check in ok, a little long and time consuming. Given room 110. GARDEN VIEW. Hotel was clean and tidy. Room 110's door is badly twisted , it didn't want to shut without a slam. You can see daylight in 2 places due to it being twisted. Patio doors ancient , pane broken on side panel. Door has seen better days , I didn't feel comfortable about either door. Bathroom , well it's the original from when the property was built , maybe 30 years old. Damage all around and bodge jobs completed to try and make it look ok. Bath had a row of tiles stuck on the front edge , to obviously hide previous damage. Some tiles cracked. Toilet was the original , it suffered from scuffs and lack of cleaning over the years. Button on the top was filthy. I doused it in dettol often daily. Shower worked but it was all old and it was a hassle to shower as it wouldn't point forward. Shower curtain probably the original , disgustingly bad. For God's sake do the staff not notice the basics. It wants throwing in the bin and replacing. Kitchenette was the same as the bathroom , tired. Hinged panel for a breakfast bar, lift it up and then you have a makeshift table. 2 stools to sit I . Pathetic. Kettle when boiling didn't switch off. 2 single beds with stains on the mattress. Very firm. Area of beds was again outdated , floor tiles scruffy. Furniture was cheap and nasty. Don't put your feet on the table it will collapse. You will need to get a safe for your valuables. 2.50 euro / day. NO AIRCON. FAN RENTAL 20 Euro. Even in December it was stuffy. I put a complaint into jet 2. Not acceptable. 1 star 🌟 at best. Don't go for GARDEN VIEW. The ones with a view of the road are dingy.
We had a great time here! Weather was perfect 20+degrees every day, cool at night. Nice location, 10 minutes drive from airport on the sea front. We hired bikes from Flistons’ Tri shop and cycled around the island. We participated in the Total Body workouts with Joanna and Theodora, abs, stretching, Tai chi and aqua gym with James and aerial yoga with ?Bedi. The exercise sessions were all very very good. Lots of people joined in at this hotel, some days, there were around 50 people in the aquagym! I enjoyed a swim every day in one of the heated pools. Food was extensive, as others have mentioned, so many types of fresh fruit and vegetables and show cooking stations with meat and fish. It really is amazing how they catered for so many people! On Valentine’s night, the food stations were decorated with hearts and balloons and special cakes were out on display. We enjoyed coffees, cava, sangria and gin and tonics from the bar. Fruit juices in the restaurant appeared to be diluted juice, rather than fresh fruit juice, so we avoided them. We also brought our own decaffeinated teabags, but this was our preference. We enjoyed most of the evening shows which were held in the theatre, the entertainers put a lot of work into the performances. Rooms were large, modern and clean and the staff we encountered do their best to ensure you have an enjoyable time. There is a fridge, tv, free wi-fi and a kettle in the room. There is no need to be bored here, there are tennis courts, table tennis, archery, boules, shuffleboard, darts etc. The hotel is busy, but there is a nice atmosphere.and there are guests from all over the world!
GGuest UserI was made feel very welcome when I arrived at Pension Magec. The hospitality I received from the management and other guests was amazing. Its a very friendly place. The property is very clean and my room was cleaned everyday. The management are extremely helpful. The management will go out of their way ensure that guests needs are met all times. Carla is lovely as are everyone else works there including Sandi the manager The view from the top veranda is stunning. The guests can sit and have a drink and chat together on the veranda. As a solo traveller you would never be lonely and its very safe. Everyone talks to each other when up on the veranda. You are made feel welcome by both management and other guests at all times. There is always someone to talk to. I felt we were like a big happy family. There is free tea and coffee at the property. I would highly recommend Pension Magec as its very central. Kind regards Anna from Ireland
This hotel promised so much but was generally disappointing. At first glance it looks good but we soon realised that there were lots of things we didn't like about the hotel. LOCATION yes it is right on the beach but there is a band of huge rocks between the hotel and the water so you hav to walk down the beach quite a long way to access the water. It is also at the very windiest end of this long, beautiful beach and the other end hotels would be much more comfortable where wind is concerned ROOM We spent the extra to have a Junior Suite and were very disappoite with it. All the walls were blank with no characterful pictures or anything. Overhead lighting which was very harsh - the fridge didn't work (reported twice to no effect) - the bathroom looked tired and dingy. FOOD The 'restaurant' was more like a factory canteen. No atmosphere at all - especially in the eveing with harsh ***** lighting only. We ate here the first night and that was all. Dreadful choice of wines by the glass.... LITTLE THINGS - having to go to main reception to get pool towels - having to pay 20 euros deposit in cash to use them! Not enough tables outside the restaurant to enable outdoor eating at breakfast and lunch. The hotel is very large and lacking in soul or charcter - just a mass production enterprise. I am sure you can do much better than this in Lanzarote for much less money
Room was clean but bath was extremely stained and looked like a bath mat had been left to rot and disintegrate not a good look. Our room was always in the shade no sunshine what so ever. The towel and sunbeds situation is a joke we are early risers and not once did we get a sunbed on the sunny side of the pool and this was low season. There is definitely not enough beds for the amount of appartments. The hotel needs to be stricter with towels on the beds as a lot were not even used throughout the day. On the plus side we had some lovely days on the beach not what we planned but the beach is lolvey. The only downside is we planned to spend more time in the hotel as we have walking difficulties and knew we were up a hill the hill is not quite cardiac hill but it's on par if you have health problems. The reception were freindly and helpful and could not fault the reception. Although having a tv is not priority on holiday we did pay a returnable deposit for the tv and was impressed itv bbc and we could sign into the likes of Netflix ect with a excellent connection, the WiFi in the room was very good. Not sure I would book this hotel again.
Great resort, well maintained and cleaned. Very friendly front desk, Sara gets a shout out for providing excellent advice and assistance. Pools are fine and the external bar area is well serviced and comfortable. Would gladly stay here, again.
I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with our recent stay at Labranda El Dorado Apartments in Lanzarote, which we booked through your company. We had high expectations based on the hotel description, but our experience was deeply unpleasant and, at times, unsafe. Misleading Room Description We booked a Sea View Superior Room, expecting a pleasant view as advertised. Instead, our room overlooked a skip that remained there for our entire stay. It was nothing like what was shown in the booking details, and we felt completely misled. Unbearable Noise – Impossible to Sleep Our room was located at the very bottom of the complex, directly beside an extremely loud Irish pub. From 9 PM to 2 AM every night, we were subjected to deafening singing, making it impossible to sleep. The walls were paper-thin, and we could hear every noise from outside and neighboring rooms. By the second night, we were exhausted and frustrated, so we went to reception to ask if we could move to a different room. The hotel was clearly not full, yet when we explained our issue, the receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful. She shrugged, threw her hands up, and said “sorry” with no effort to assist us. When I asked if that meant there was no possibility of moving rooms, she flatly replied, “No, you booked a superior room, that is your room.” We then contacted Jet2, who attempted to help. When we met with the Jet2 rep and another receptionist the following day, we were told the hotel was fully booked and that the only available rooms were five garden view rooms. However, after looking at the hotel map, it was obvious that many rooms were empty, including ones much further from the noise. The staff refused to move us, despite having options available. Had I known that the so-called ‘Superior’ rooms were all located next to a noisy bar, I would never have booked it. Considering it was meant to be a better option than a standard room—and we paid more for it—I expected much better. Serious Safety Concerns on Our Last Night On our final night, we experienced an extremely dangerous situation that made us feel completely unsafe. A car right across the road from our hotel was set on fire and exploded. This was not a small incident—the car was completely engulfed in flames, and there were what we believe to be fireworks or devices being set off in or near the car, possibly even towards the hotel. The hotel staff showed absolutely no concern for guest safety. At no point were we given any information, reassurance, or even an acknowledgment of what was happening. We were extremely worried for our safety, and the lack of response from the hotel was shocking. Poor Room Conditions & Housekeeping At first glance, our room seemed clean, but we quickly noticed multiple issues: • Mold in the bathroom • Ripped bed sheets and towels • A broken couch that doubled as a pull-out bed we didn’t need—the bottom part was exposed and falling apart, making it uncomfortable to s
I arrived early, very early about 11 o’clock in the morning. The reception staff were very patient with me. I do suffer a certain amount of anxiety, but I probably had my sunflower lanyard still on from the flight, so perhaps were aware that I was easily stressed. I had booked all-inclusive and they fitted my wristband, let me lock away my luggage and took down my mobile phone number to inform me when my room would be ready. I sat on the chairs by the pool bar, and seeing that lunch was served went in to the restaurant alongside it. The maître d was booking tables for the speciality restaurants (this being the weekend) but, of course, not yet having a room number I couldn’t book one. She was incredibly friendly, and later in the holiday when I had a room number, I booked a sitting at the Chinese restaurant. I was aware that there are not kettles in the room (although apparently they are available from reception) so had brought my own. Looking for water, I found a supermarket hidden in the block behind the Spar, a ‘Unide’ supermarket which offered not just water but also small UHT Tetra Paks of milk, which fitted neatly into the side pocket of the room’s fridge. Walking back, I overheard people saying that they had become rather apprehensive of the hotel, having read recent reviews. I had felt the same. Yes, I know that it might well do with a refurbishment, but where else are you going to find such value? It is all spotlessly clean and the room cleaners make your dwelling sparkling. As for the complaints about the food, I don’t understand them at all. With two choices of soup at breakfast and dinner, with original Coca Cola, Sangria and lager on tap in the restaurants, actual back bacon at breakfast without any bones, I don’t see why any normal person would be dissatisfied. I don’t think I have ever seen an all-inclusive resort with such a spread. But perhaps that’s the thing, some people may not have selected the all-inclusive option. I think such a thing is a false economy, not only do you automatically lose lunch on half board, but also all drinks as well. When I sat down at dinner, the waiters quickly whipped away the drinks list for customers who did not have all-inclusive, but from what I saw the drinks prices soon stripped away any advantage people might have thought they had gained by booking any other kind of board. I don’t see many reviewers mentioning the evening entertainment, and this for me is one of the main plusses of the hotel. They do not rely on their animation team to provide the shows, but rather pay for speciality acts. I had intended going straight to bed the night I arrived, but having seen that there was to be an ABBA tribute, I stayed up; and I’m pleased I did. The acts the hotel offers varied from Chinese acrobatic shows to many different musical acts. The queues for drinks were quickly dealt with, and it is best to make the drinks order at the bar for your entire party to take away. I would have pre
