Il Borgo di Campi

After getting the keys (not before 15:00, otherwise you wait outside), I find a large apartment, but with small windows. A part of the room doesn't close. The bathroom is a real disaster. The shower is only 50 per 50 cm. The shower apple is inaccessible to a medium-sized person, to use the toilet you need to be contorted to not be knocked against the toilet paper distributor, while out of service. The building is very noisy. Even no slips to absorb the noise of the chairs. Result, as soon as someone rips a chair, everyone is awake. I don't talk about the stairway to the apartment, very tight, and the contours to do to close the door inside. Finally, for early lift, no need for awakening, the house cock is very effective. From 5 a.m. on the morning. The cherry on the gate: I complain about the state of the bathroom. Here's their answer: Two things are infinite: the universe and human fool, but I still have doubts about the universe. (Albert Einstein) stay at your home ... Good night IL BORGO DI CAMPI No how This is beautiful view (external, not small windows) Only positive point

I’ve reviewed this wonderful place before. If you’re in Lerici or even Sarzana or La Spezia, stay here. My tips: laundry. Assuming you have a car go to Bolle Blu in Sarzana. Great people there, easy machines and the lady there has several times taken my 10 euros (she prefers monete) and not only bunged my stuff from lavatricce to dryer but helped me fold it. ( btw 4.50 for wash, 4.50 for dry) 1 for detergent). As for food, all pizza seems to be good but the locals tell me to go to Follia which I’ve several times done. Ristorante Glam is amazing. Golfo dei Poeti is really good too ... only problem is their portions are so big you should downsize by a course. Aw heck they’re all great: En Tragia, Frantoio, 1918, Piccola Oasi ... sorry if I leave one out. And San Terenzo has some amazing restaurants.

My husband and I visited Cinque Terra in June. We stayed at the Hotel Villa Argentina. It is located on the top of the town of Riomaggiore. Our room was small but very functional and clean. The view from our balcony made the climb up through the town and the four flights of stairs to get to our room totally worth it. Antonio and Alessandra are the lovely couple that run the hotel. Breakfast every morning was fantastic. Pastries, home made jams, meats, cheeses, and exceptional coffee. All the staff was incredibly friendly. We also enjoyed visiting the other villages that make up Cinque Terra. The train was easy to take from one place to the next. We loved our stay. Roger and Leslie Fiorini

We stayed for 7 nights and could not fault anything. We are so happy we chose to stay here. The staff were so helpful and friendly including Francesco the minibus driver, the breakfast staff and the two owners. They could not have done more to make our stay better. The room was spacious with a large comfy bed, nice bedding, quiet air con and a large bathroom with a good shower and plenty of hot water, large balcony with great views over the beautiful countryside. The pool was a welcome delight after being out visiting the Cinque Terre and Porto Venere. There was always enough sunloungers. The breakfast (with stunning views )was delicious with lovely croissants, fresh cakes, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, cheese and hams and breads, cereals, yogurts, eggs, pancakes and more. We had a few lunches which were also very good but only ate there one evening as we prefer to walk into town. There are several terraces for drinks and a complimentary mini bus to collect or take you to town or the train so don’t worry about it being high up. It’s a ten minute walk to the train or town downhill and easily walkable. We would highly recommend this hotel. The only one thing we may have used if it had been there was an iron as our clothes were quite creased. I am sure if we had asked they would have provided one but we just never bothered. There is a spa which looked lovely but we never used. It’s a perfect location for visiting the Cinque Terre and beyond. Excellent train service and boat to Porto Venere. Walk to Bonnasola next door to Levanto through the tunnels.

This is our most recent stay at the hotel. We have stayed here before Covid, four or five times, and this is the first time after the pandemic. The hotel and its garden and pool area is like an oasis, calm and cool even on a hot day. The staff if friendly and always helpful, the food is good and the beach is close if that’s what you want.
