Stayed as a quick getaway after working a couple days of long shifts. EVERYTHING that could go wrong, DID go wrong. Check in was smooth & pleasant. Room was clean & comfortable. Unpacked, about to shower and heard heavy drops of water. Went to investigate & had 2 dripping water pockets directly above shower. Immediately reported & was moved down the hallway to ntire stay, but a room that was just as comfortable & clean, yet the bed wasn't completely made. Had 2 report that. Housekeeper was friendly & sweet, but she entered my room without knocking. She was very apologetic. Staff was supposed to assist me in moving from room 2 room since I had unpacked. They did NOT. Didnt settle into my room until 2 hrs AFTER checking in. I was exhausted. Next day I reported to Mgr. Was told that she was on the phone. She NEVER reached out 2 me, so I went 2 front desk where I found her. I felt under valued & unimportant as she did not give me her undivided attention as she continued tapping away on the computer as I explained to her what had . In the end, she offered like a $55 discount on my entire stay. I accepted, but to be honest, my 1st night should've been FREE. I did sleep comfortably however, and I felt safe knowing that due 2 locked security doors, outsiders couldn't simply walk through to elevators and wander the halls. Great location, as well. If there was an option to give zero stars I would. We checked 8 PM and thrown off by the rude employee at the front desk. He gives us a disgusting room that smelled like smoke right when you walked in. We want to switch rooms. He did not apologize he just looked at us with a disgusted face and looked us up and down. He threw us the key cards on the counter. Horrible starting experience. He told us breakfast was is until 10:30 AM. I decided to have breakfast at 10am. Expecting a free breakfast which is included in my stay, I come down and there is nothing but coffee the breakfast was taken away. I asked why there’s no breakfast. They said breakfast is until 9:30 AM because it is a weekday and on weekends breakfast is till 10:30 AM. I said I was misinformed and I would still like breakfast. Glenn, a man working the front desk downstairs told me to go to IHOP or Denny’s. Now why would I want to spend my money somewhere else when I knew that breakfast was included in my stay, isn’t that a little bit ridiculous Glenn. I managed to get two fruits. I asked for cereal and he said “no ma’am that is not available.” I asked a lady in Spanish and she gave me the cereal, no problem. As I was about to ask for milk Glenn ran up to the room screaming in frustration yelling at me and the lady. He said “no ma’am I told you NO! that is not available, this area is closed!”. So I never got my milk and had a horrible experience with Glenn as he almost made me cry. It’s quite nasty here, housekeeping is very persistent as they want to kick you out at 10 AM and won’t stop until you leave. They kept opening the doors by themselves without knocking. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL BEWARE! The bed is ripped there are many stains and some ceilings are peeling.

This particular TownPlace Suites carries the Marriott name but not the quality. It's very difficult to write a bad Marriott review but this location has a long way to go before it will have you Marriott satisfied. Most of the staff is very nice, I actually stayed for a week last month and locked my keys in my vehicle the day I was to check out. The front desk went out of the way to give me extended access to the room until I was able to gain access to my vehicle. I returned the next week to a completely different experience. There was a fill in staffer that was unable to create reservations and check in guest. I had to remain in my vehicle from 3 am until 7 am when another front desk agent arrived. I asked to use the bathroom in the lobby since I had to wait outside 4 hours. I was told only registered guest could use the lobby restroom. I would have been a registered guest with a room if they had adequate staffing. I literally had to argue with the woman on duty to allow me to use the bathroom since I had to return to my vehicle to sleep. Marriott? Not. I checked out after getting some rest finished my week stay at another hotel just across the street. Better price and better service. But since I am and always will be a Marriott guest, a month later I came back. I reserved for three nights. I always arrive early in the morning and this time I arrived at 3:30 am. The front desk was downloading it's computer so again, I had to wait for service.... Instead of booking my three night reservation I was told to book for one night then rebook the rest of my stay the next morning. The next morning I was advised the hotel was completely sold out and I would not be able to complete my reservation. Asking for management only made the situation worse. All kinds of excuses but no customer service. No accountability. No accommodation. In 30 years I have never called corporate but I had to this time. Then, the general manager started backtracking. Then a room became available, she moved some things around. 30 minutes later too many excuses later... no thank you. I was told I had half hour to vacate the room or I would be charged an additional day as a threat against me contacting the corporate office. To make matters worse, the same general manager modified my folio receipt to make it appear I was checked in for 3 days/2 nights although I was only there 8.5 hours. How was it resolved? Not with more service but with more excuses. I went to a Hilton and finished my reservation. Better price better service and the tvs work. If you are reading this you have been warned. This property does not operate at Marriott level standards. Go anywhere else if you want to be treated like a paying guest.

Upon arrival to departure, my stay and service received were flawless. Some of the reviews stated otherwise but most often sometimes we must experience for ourselves. The location was within a perfect distance from the main meeting area and the area was very safe as some may say otherwise. I am a Bonvoy member who travel often and because of such you see a lot. The checkin was smooth, the agent remained calm and collected as the line begin to grow with the guests’ varying needs. My room was spacious and CLEAN!! First of all, it was CLEAN! Need I say more. Kudos to Housekeeping for checking on my room! Breakfast in the mornings was plentiful and the attendant was attentive and nice ensuring everything was replenished!! Whatever needs or concerns I had were addressed and rectified quickly from the cold water showers to the warmer than usual bedroom temperature to the request to extend our stay.. The GM, Mr Bowers, Justin at the FD and DeMarco in Engineering.. all those I had encounters with.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE QUICK RESPONSES AND A GREAT WEEKLONG STAY!!

I been going to this hotel for 2 yrs every month for a staycation to get away. This one time hotel guests arguing in hallway disturbing guests cops called. Cops came bck 2nd night banging on guest door wellness check. I stayed 2 nights no rest, noise & scared 1st night for my safety because of arguing in hallway. It's so ghetto there now! I'm told by Mgr or night supervisor I can get refund at checkout or at least half but Mgr Pricilla Harris refused she offered me points but no money back or free night. I always stayed on 2nd floor only once 1st floor. I would have stayed 1 night on 1st floor near entrance ONLY. I believe I'm owed all or half refund for 1 night my rest was disturb I was terrified entire night. It's straight Ghetto now. They lost a loyal customer because I'll never go to that location again at Hampton Park Blvd in Capital Heights MD

The hotel is very clean, the quality that a standard American chain hotel should have. There are small refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers in the rooms. Like other American hotels, they do not provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, combs, and slippers, but you can ask the front desk for some. The air-conditioning sound in the room is very soft. The free parking lot is huge. There is a cinema next to it, but it is not open due to the epidemic. There is also a local mall nearby, but it didn't go because of the epidemic. It is worth mentioning that the hotel provides free breakfast. The staple food is changed every day. The restaurant staff will make it for you on the spot. There are waffles with meat patties and egg yolks, as well as fruits that you can pick up and take back to your room. The overall feeling is very good.

I stayed at this brand new hotel at the University of Maryland and had a wonderful time. It is conveniently located to visit the university, but it is also very simple to go to DC using the Metro, which I did. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. The WiFi is strong enough for video calls and work. The staff was very kind, including the cleaning staff.
