Dancing House - Tancici Dum Hotel

Nové Město Prague|1.68km from downtown
My husband and I stayed at the Dancing house from June 19th - June 23rd with some very good friends are ours. We were in room 202 and they were in room 201. While this hotel is absolutely beautiful it's very obvious that design was prioritized over function. I've listed the pros and cons of this hotel below. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you traveling here during the warm summer months since their air conditioning is almost non-existent in several of the hotel rooms and you'll end up sweating while you sleep. PROS 1. The hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted in Prague and nothing we wanted to go see was more then a 15 minute walk. You also have a train station right in front of the hotel so you can always hop on that if you need to go farther. 2. Both the inside and outside of the hotel is beautiful, especially at night. 3. The breakfast is one of the best I've had while traveling. They have everything from eggs and bacon to several different types of sausage, many different types of fresh fruit and more then half a dozen different types of breads. CONS 1. By far and away the number 1 con of this hotel is the lack of reliable air conditioning! To be honest, I don't believe room 202's air conditioning system even worked. The air was never cold coming out of the vents and the hotel sent two different people up to make sure the thermostat was set correctly. (which it was). During the morning/early afternoon the room would never get below 78 degrees (25.5 Celsius) even though it was 62 degrees outside the first morning we woke up. During the late afternoon and evening it would warm up to as warm as 81 degrees in the room, even with the air conditioning running. I brought this up to the staff 3 times and there was nothing they could do. (except they did offer me ice, but I'm not sure how that was supposed to cool me off?) I literally had to go find a place to buy a fan in order to stay in this hotel with those temps! The management should be ashamed of themselves that they allow this to continue. This was not the only room without reliable air conditioning either. Room 304 was also complaining about their air conditioning as we were checking out, so keep that in mind. Our friends in room 201 did have working a/c, but you had to keep a card in a slot to keep the a/c running when you left. Even if you left a card in there the housekeeping would take it out when they cleaned the room, leaving the room warm by the time you arrived back. 2. While the lack of a/c was the biggest issue, another big issue was the design of the room. Yes, it's beautiful looking and has some neat features (like color changing ambient lighting) BUT it's very impractical and dysfunctional. For instance, the a/c vents are located next to the windows, but BEHIND the curtains. So, if we closed the curtains to keep the sun from coming into the windows, we received no air flow from the vents. (curtains are ceiling to floor heigh

Red & Blue Design Hotel Prague

Prague|2.62km from downtown
Great hotel in a lovely quiet area, 15 minutes to the old town/bridge by tram. Had a room on the 4th floor which was clean and light, beds comfortable and fantastic shower. Check in at reception was easy and they were helpful in giving you all the info you need for your stay. They will also help with any trips or sightseeing. Our room was cleaned every day but if this doesn't happen, just ask at reception. Great continental breakfast with good choice of rolls, cheeses, hams, eggs, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries etc. and plenty of coffee. The public transport system is subsidized by the Czech government so over 65s are free and 60-65s tram/bus tickets are half the price. Their bus/tram system is brilliant and the best way to see Prague so using Google Maps (which is a godsend) you can go to all the sights by tram/bus. I bought 3 day tickets from the yellow machines at the airport and each day you use one, just validate it at the tram/bus stop or on the tram/bus and it stamps it for 24 hours use, just keep your passport with you to confirm your age (we never saw any inspectors). As I'm 60 it cost me 180 Czech krona (£6.50) for 3 days travel. We also used public transport from and to the airport and although it took 50 minutes, it saved us a fortune (taxis can be anything between £30-£40.00). The tram stop is round the corner at the bottom of the hill from the hotel. We could leave our bags at the hotel after we checked out so we went to the lovely park across the road for a couple of hours. If you want a lovely meal and great beer, we found a little gem called the Beer Spot which is 6 minutes walk from the hotel. There's a lovely shopping mall about 5 minutes walk Nový Smíchov Shopping Centre, which has all the brands you could want and a Tescos. Would definitely use this hotel for Prague again.

Old Town Square

Grand Hotel Praha

Grand Hotel Praha

Old Town Prague|0.08km from Old Town Square
Advantages: The location is just opposite the Astronomical Clock. The decoration was not bad, giving a discount card for 15% of the three restaurants downstairs. Disadvantages: Very fatal flaws are particularly noisy! ! ! My friend and I lived on the second floor 220 on April 20th. Every night, people were very loud and noisy, talking, the sound of pedestrians passing by on the street, the crash of the dishes downstairs, and the conversations on the terrace. It is clear that even the smell of the restaurant downstairs can be smelled. There was no sound insulation in the window. We didn’t fall asleep until two o'clock in the night. We could only go downstairs to find the front desk staff. The hotel staff knew that there were frequent complaints from the guests, but we did not fulfill any obligation to inform before we booked and checked in. In the face of our complaints, the staff did not find the source of the noise and did not take any other measures. Just provided us with earplugs. We asked for a change of room and did not receive a response. As a hotel, the most basic function is to provide guests with a quiet and comfortable sleeping environment. However, the experience of staying at this hotel is very poor. My friends and I have not slept almost all night, and we have to catch the train early the next morning. It leads to our physical and mental fatigue. We don't know if there is such a situation in this room where we only live or in every room, but in our experience, it is highly recommended that you set this hotel!

Hotel At the Golden Scissors

Lesser Town Prague|0.22km from Charles Bridge
The hotel is next to the Charles Bridge. The apartment is a 3-minute walk. We will take the keys to the hotel first, then let the driver drive to the apartment. The driver will not do it because it is a one-way street. It takes more than 2 kilometers to detour. During the peak period, the driver said that it would take 20 minutes. After that, we said that we paid extra. The driver agreed. It took 15 minutes to get there. So if there are other students who book this apartment, it is recommended to go directly to the apartment and let the person go to the front desk. Take the key. The location is very good, next to the Lennon Wall and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, very quiet, in stark contrast to the crowds of the old town, I am glad that I have not booked the old town. I booked a family room with 2 bedrooms and 1 living room. The description reads that I can see the Prague Castle. The actual room is the 1st floor room (actually the 2nd floor). I can see that I have been blocked by other buildings. I can’t see the landscape. . There is an elevator, but the design is unreasonable. The elevator can only go to the mezzanine of each floor, so if you walk down the half-story stairs with a big box, you have to walk up the half-story stairs. However, the room size is very large, the living room is very comfortable, and the heating is sufficient, so that our group of people who have unfortunately encountered the coldest May in Europe feel very warm. The kitchen facilities are very new, very complete, with washing machine and dryer, but not useful. The only bad thing is that the bathroom design is unreasonable. There is only one small bathroom (there is a dock and a washstand) in the whole room. 1 bath room (one bathtub, one washstand, one shower room, there is no toilet), so 4 people actually live. Inconvenient, the toilet should be lined up, and the bathing should be lined up. This time, several apartments in the Austrian Czech tour are like this. Normally, if the extra bathroom is marked, it is usually equipped with bathing equipment, or at least in the apartment. 2 piers, only Austria, the Czech Republic encountered an extra bathroom or no toilet, or no bathing equipment. But the whole hotel feels very good, the little girl at the front desk is also very enthusiastic, I will book this next time.

I stayed in this hotel at the end of December and it was very nice. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast buffet is a bit sp****, but very good. It takes about 35 minutes to walk to Republic Square in the city center from here, but you can also get there by bus (like 207?). The hotel has a fenced parking lot, which costs 15 Euros, or parked on the side of the road like us (free parking for two hours before 6 pm on weekdays, and free on weekends)

I stayed in the Royal Road Residence with my mom in november. Its amazing location, you can literally get to all main attractions by walking. The old Town Square is just 6 mins walking!!! When you come there is a small sign and you should ring the bell to come inside. Reception is in the 1st floor. The staff were very friendly and caring and offered us some hot drinks. We asked them to give us room with balconu and we were so lucky they still got one! The view was AMAZING!! The only thing it was a little bit noisy during weekend because the crowd never finishes on this street. Breakfast was good, specially fresh waffles with chocolate. We stayed for a week and the cleaning was done twice. I will definately come back to this family residence once I am in Prague.

Posizione meravigliosa.

We stayed there one night with our two months old baby, everything was fine. We booked a parking in the garage, which is not suitable for SUV´s, very limited parking space. Only basic toiletries, comfy bed. Very good breakfast with fresh scrambled eggs cooked for you. Worth the value.

Pluses: The hotel is good, its clean, easy checkin, friendly staff. In front of the door you can get on the tram to the center in 12 minutes. A minus: We stayed for 4 days and there was no cleaning and towel refreshing. ( i didnt ask for it either, but I'm used to it being done automatically )

The location was great. The castle/palace was just 10 minute walk up the hill. Down the hill was Charles bridge, which is a pedestrian bridge that connects to old and new Prague. The history of the hotel was great, but if you need space the room we were given won’t work. It was very cramped. Couldn’t stand up on one side of the room. No drawers to store lingerie. On the other hand The bathroom was wonderful. Plenty of hot water and good pressure. Oh we had to hunt for plugs and no USB ports. We’d stay again but ask for a room like the picture🙂
