I was in this hotel before and it was a nice experience, but this time... I was really wondering how they cah have 5 stars. 3 maybe... i stayed in Villa park hotel which is old, but clean. I never saw so dirty floor in a hotel. Sadly I did not take a picture. But I did of balcony. It was pigeon poo all over and you could not sit on one chair as it was so dirzy. In a 5 star hotel you would expect a bed to be made every day, but... it was not even touched. The maid only changed towels and nothing else. Uh... I heard the maids on the hallways talking and it seemed Russian language - not sure but definetely not slovenian. And to the restaurant. We had lunch as we were on conference. The food was good, but again but... i had file of trout and I had so many bones in it. Okay it happens, but not in such expensive hotel. I saw cooks running around - none of them was speaking Slovenian. And than dinner... again bad experience with a fish. Even more bones in it. Some cakes had no taste at all, but overal the food was good. But... we had a DJ and personel started cleaning tables so fast and put all the food away. We felt like very unwanted. Very bad experience. The staff was not really friendly. And like someone already wrote in his comment: no help whatsoever from the man at luggage area. We had heavy bags to transport and they only showed us whwre the trolley was. They saw we are women and it was heavy to push it, but... no help offered at all. So in overall I would never stay in such low quality hotel for such high prize. I'm not very xomplicated guest and do not need much, but for this prize I ecpect quality. And clean rooms. This is not a 5-star hotel. They have the potential to be 5 stars, since the facilities are fabulous. Our room was very nice looking with a great view to the hills and to the sea. The “park view” is an understatement, it was a beautiful hillside view. Also the large outdoor pool is fantastic and the breakfast terrace also offers fabulous views to the garden and to the sea. But all this goes to waste, because the staff doesn’t care to make an effort. The breakfast food was leathery and there were no sweets or pastries to have with your coffee. This was a first time with such a poor selection and quality in a 5 star hotel. There is no concierge service, you have to carry your own bags to the room, in a 5 star hotel. The staff was ignorant and rude; they kept asking constantly if we are guests of this hotel. As if we were not good enough to be guests of this hotel so they had to keep snobbishly asking about it all the time. There is no room service in this hotel whatsoever. When we wanted our clothes washed, we call the reception to have somebody pick it up from our room and it will be returned the next day before 18.00 like they promise in the room’s laundry info leaflet. When we called, the receptionist responded by saying it is already late (19.00), so could we bring the laundry to the reception by ourselves. Then the next day, when by 21.00, the laundry bag still had not been returned to our room, we went to the reception to ask about it. It tuns out the bag is there forgotten. The receptionist told us we have to take it to the room by ourselves, as she cannot send anybody to bring it to us and she cannot leave the reception herself. We cannot believe this amount of self-service one has to endure in a 5 star hotel. The reception staff didn’t bother to give us the towel card at the arrival or inform us that we need one when we go to the large outdoor pool. So when we went to the pool, the poolboy informed us that we need the towel card and should walk all the way back up to the huge hill to the hotel reception to get it. It’s ridiculous that they make customers run around like this. The pools are only open till 19.00, which is really odd in a 5 star hotel. There is no reason why they can’t be open till 21 or 22 like in many other hotels, many guests would love to swim and relax in the evening when it’s not so hot anymore. Then the pool staff started shutting down the outdoor pool umbrellas and chairs already at 18.00, even though guests were still using those. The jacuzzi was turned off already at 18.00, even though it was supposed to be open till 19.00. And the employee at the pool refused to turn it back on and claimed they were all in “maintenance”, even though they had water in them. So clearly there was maintenance, just ignorance towards his job. We have paid for the jacuzzi and we want to use it during our stay. You shouldn’t do “maintenance” on all the 3 jacuzzis you have at the same time, so the guests can enjoy at least o

Wellness Hotel Apollo – Terme & Wellness LifeClass

Wellness Hotel Apollo – Terme & Wellness LifeClass

Portoroz|1.91km from downtown
This was our first sea side vacation in Slovenia. The hotel is part of Life Class Hotels network which includes several more expensive and several less expensive hotels. Guests of all of them share the SPA facilities. I rated this hotel stay as “Very Good” mainly for its value for money. Otherwise, it is average. Hotel: this is a 4 star hotel and, apart from the food, old towels and having to pay for old bath robes, it is probably the 4 star hotel. The room is spacious and comfortable, very clean, large balcony with a table and chairs. The hotel and surroundings are quiet, even though it is kind of in the middle of a resort town. Mattresses are on a softer side and pillows are not that comfortable but all in all ok. TV has several programs in English including CNN, BBC, National Geographic, cartoons etc. Towels and bath robes are very old and really need to be replaced at this stage. Plus you have to pay for bath robes (!) euro 6 per one bath robe. It’s handy to have one because you can go to the SPA dressed in it. SPA: is very good. There are several swimming pools, one of them is with thermal mineral water which we liked. Another one is with sea water and has one part outside. The pools are clean and pleasant. Can get very busy when the weather is not great but it was manageable. There are plenty of massage and other SPA options. I didn’t use any but they looked very nice and not too expensive. Kids club: there is one on the prémisses. It is run on the Medusa beach in good weather or inside of the Apollo hotel in not so good weather. Animators seemed nice but not too engaged. Also, they never asked for my room number or my phone number so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the kids there without me being nearby for longer than 10 min. When the kids club is run on the beach, the beach is right next to the road. So it really is not an option to be used for child care and going off to the SPA. Kids enjoyed playing there though so I do recommend it. Beach: the hotel guests can use Medusa beach which is opposite the hotel (you need to cross the road to get there). Hotel guests pay Euro 18 for two loungers and one umbrella. It is expensive if you do this every day. The beach is nice and clean but it is rather busy and not that big. Sun loungers are on the grass, there is no sand there. You need to use the metal step ladder to get into water. There are small stones on the bottom in the water so worth getting beach / water shoes (Euro 15 in shops nearby). Otherwise, can be unpleasant, especially for kids. The water is probably around 1 meter deep when you get in so young kids won’t be able yo puddle in. Water seems clean but there are lots of boats nearby so you can see a bit of diesel in the water. There are showers on the beach and a nice cafe for lunch and drinks. Food: breakfast is limited but ok. The young lady Sara who is making omelettes is very nice and welcoming. Scrambled eggs however are really bad as if they were made

Hotel Neptun - Terme & Wellness Lifeclass

Portoroz|1.95km from downtown
Nice big room with comfy bed and pillows. Big bathroom as well. They could change the towells every day, which they don't. Warm hanger for towells is very small so we couldn't dry them from one day to another. They also don't provide you with extra towells for pools/saunas. Food in general is well prepared and tasty. I missed a bit more of diversity but most of the things I tried were good. Breakfast was pretty much standard selfservice. Per request they also provided gluten-free bread. Location is a few minutes walk up the hill from the beach, but since you can use other Lifeclass hotels which are all connected via hallways and elevators you can simply use that instead of walking up the hill. Pools are all with warm sea water. Surface/tiles by the pool were often very wet and slippery, so be careful about that. I tried to go the sauna but it was closed, without any signs or anything. Girls in the animation team were excellent. Kids really enjoy it there and they make them feel welcome. They are chatty and very friendly. We loved it. Biggest downside was PARKING, which is the only reason I gave Neptun 4 stars. They offer no free parking, eventhough they do have parking space across the road for hotel guests where ramp opens with a coded armband. They charge you 5€/day. This was a huge letdown, considering its a 4star hotel. On top of everything, the parking space was fully packed the first day so I was driving around the Portoroz and couldn't find any free parking space. Then I went back to reception desk and complained. Then they let me into the private parkng lot which is reserved for management board. Still they charged me 5€.

Great location across the road from the beach and within walking distance to many cafes, restaurants and variety of shops. The indoor pool, wellness centre and outdoor pool are an added feature if you do not wish to join the beach crowd. Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed and nicely appointed bathroom with bidet. There was also a refrigerator and telephone. Although our room opened out to a view of the opposite buildings it was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony. The breakfast menu was extensive in a very comfortable dining room. Reception staff were efficient and friendly. It was a great hotel overlooking the gulf of Piran and a lovely introduction to what Slovenia had to offer!

Hotel 5 stars , located on the seafront. Accommodation by the reception and the cars (garage at the custodian cover) of the first order. Very comfortable and excellent clean room, large bathroom with clean handcuffs and towels ( daily change ) Restaurant, first breakfast and buffet dinner with a wide choice between cold and hot cooked food at the moment. The hotel has a very large seawater swimming pool, many sleep on board pool for relaxation. Really satisfied with everything.
