Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location is excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and I also enjoyed the view from the window.
One thing worth noting about the location is that, although the hotel is quite close to São Bento Station, reaching it on foot involves climbing a fairly long and steep set of steps. If arriving from the metro, you may also need to walk along the cobbled pavement of Rua de Santa Catarina, which is not particularly convenient when pulling a suitcase.
There were a few minor issues during my stay. The Wi-Fi was quite slow, at around 200 KB/s, and the connection was rather unstable, which made it difficult to use for streaming videos. There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, similar to a drain or sewer smell. Keeping the bathroom door closed helped prevent it from spreading into the room, although the smell remained inside the bathroom. I also noticed what appeared to be some mold-like spots inside the air-conditioning unit.
That said, considering the price and the overall experience, I would regard these as relatively minor issues rather than major complaints. The hotel offers good value for its location, room size, cleanliness, and service, and overall I was satisfied with my stay.
