Claustrophobic room, unable to open a window without compromising on privacy. No lifts so I had to carry my bags up a few flights of stairs. No staff at the reception desk for the duration of my stay- I had to check-in myself in and out of this hotel.

There were no staff at this property. Room was mostly clean. It was very quiet. I think it was overpriced for what it was, but because it was in PD you have to pay a higher price

Service is non existant. Ive had better service at an Air BnB! Pick up up a busted phone at the front door with no staff. Called three times to hear instructions to get keys out of a safe with ten other peoples keys. The goods lift didnt work from the basement so we had to drag our luggage up four flights of stairs. The rom was i e, but the floor was absolutely filthy. Our feet were black after walking on the timber floors for 5 minutes. After we settled in, a staff member saw us leaving out the front door and asked if everything was OK? We told him about the xramas and he shrugged his shoulders and siad that they dint have a lot of staff and the goods lift is always playing up. Serci e here is literally non existent. The noise from the three bars, live music and people yelling out, downstairs in the street kept us awake till 2am. Do not expect a good sleep here.

First 3 days was not happy at all, very small hotel room. People walking past able to see into the room unless you had the shutters shut then its like a cell. Last 2 days a beautiful 1 bed apartment with balcony overlooking the sea and Sunday market area. This was the first time as platinum members we had not received an upgrade which was disappointing. We were there for a wedding being the Groom's parents which l had explained prior to arriving, then bumping to other people who had been upgraded. On the plus side this property was centrally located close to the marina, Sunday markets and St Marys by the Sea. Staff were great.

The hotel is in a great location, close to shops, restaurants and the beach. After hours' checkin was quick and easy. Everything was clean, good toiletries, quality linen. That's the good news! Now the not-so-good... The website does alert you to the fact that the rooms are small but they are REALLY tiny! And there is no lift, so three flights of stairs from the carpark to the top floor, although this is stated clearly on the website. The rooms are not serviced daily, and there is no crockery/cutlery so not easy if you want to have a takeaway meal in the room (anyway you would have to eat it on your lap, sitting on the bed - no other option!). And at nearly $300 per night way over-priced. There was a little bit of noise from the pub next door, and a bit more from the common verandah as people came and went late at night. The hotel would be fine for an overnight stay but definitely not a top pick for a week's holiday.

This venue has limited additionals but is duly compensated for due to its location with easy and close access to restaurants, cafes, newsagent, supermarket, takeaways, beautiful walking ares both leisure and fitness and scenic, all types of transport and reef boat terminal and motor vehicle car park.

loved staying here! It was great! The only critisism would be there is no housekeeping and after 6 nights, a room was in need of a makeover haha. Aside from that, the best!

Bathroom floor dirty..dark hair on floor (we are blond and grey) big old crack in wash basin ...cain chair worn out bad on back. Should have two good chairs in room as one person has to sit on bed.. outside airconditioning very loud so you cannot open window.

Unfortunately our stay at the Manta has been more than disappointing. The rooms and TV’s were very small and we had very bad TV reception. The property was not staffed and we had difficulty reporting a fault with our air conditioning. When we did finally report it, we had to call back three times before they said they had fixed it. Turns out, it wasn’t fixed. We woke during the night to water from the air conditioner leaking and spraying over our bed and face. We had to move the bed to find that water was and had been running down the wall for some time. The wall was dirty and stained. We have stayed in many different places in Port Douglas before and never had such a disappointing experience. On top of all that, our room was not served for the 6 days that we stayed. We were forced to buy our own toilet paper and additional soap. My daughter, who was staying for an additional 2 nights was also refused room servicing, which was only supplied after I rang and complained. I will never stay with Manta again.
