Is this a 4* hotel? Reception and lounge close at 21.00. No water or drinks/eat in minibar(!). Hotel staff shows no interest in us as guests, at check-in we where handled by a yongster who didn’t speak anything besides Italian and didn’t know what she was talking about. When checking out there where no signs on asking how was the stay etc. The lack of decent commitment was astonishing. We can’t recommend anyone to stay at Garni

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff are rude, the breakfasts are poor. Besides the lack of a good selection of food, I went into the dining room in the evening to get a glass and saw that the food prepared for breakfast was left out on shelves without refrigeration. This is a high risk of poisoning! The staff charge you for damages you didn't cause. It's a pity I read the reviews too late; previous guests have written similar reviews many times. It's the worst place for relaxation. I do not recommend it!

Everything is nice here. I just have one complaint. There weren't a lot of sugar-free or vegan options for breakfast. The coffee was good though. Thank goodness coffee is sugar-free and vegan. They had a container with a good muesli at the top. But the bottom was filled with sugared flakes. So when I tried to fill my bowl, only the sugar flakes came out. More coffee...

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is good value for money and for us was at the right place for us to ride the Govia and Stelvio passes the next day. The hotel communal area are well laid out and decorated. Breakfast was good value and set us up for the day

Good hotel. The look is from the late 90s' but it's well-maintained and well-kept, with terrific wood paneling and all-wood furnishing creating a terrific feeling of an Alpine lodge. Good standard breakfast. Nice staff

Nice cleanly hotel. I wish I could stop there, but there are more that must be told. The management had a very unengaged attitude. Didn’t answer emails in advance about questions regarding our reservation, didn’t greet us in the hotel, always hiding behind the computer screen. The owners little dog was free to roam breakfast area every morning begging for food from our table. But the most alarming aspect was how additional cost was added to our bill. In the end our stay cost 240 euro more than what was written on our reservation confirmation. And we found out that the "Spa" that I had reserved for one evening at a $20 additional price ended up costing us $80 since the entire family of four spent time in the sauna. None of this information was available in advance. Who would pay $80 for a 1 hour sauna? I asked about this, but the staff referenced some hidden text on their website which I was unable to find on my own. There was no mentioning about this on any booking confirmation. When I objected I just got a snarky response: “Well, this IS the price!”. So if you are looking for a vacation with poor service and fraudulent business practice, then Hotel Garni Pegra is the place for you. (If manager answers this review, you can all see how any blame will be solely placed on their customers.)

Expect what you should from a three star hotel. LOCATION: (VERY GOOD) The hotel is very conveniently located 440m walk (5 minute walk). from the hotel to the main Ponte di Legno gondola and lifts. Whilst it has its own ski storage, there is a ski rental area (Ski lab) situated exactly opposite the gondola on the other side of the road which you can reach from an underpass. This is a very slick and efficient rental shop and provides you with lockers to store your ski gear over night, so no need to carry them to the hotel and back. ROOMS (VERY GOOD) The rooms are very clean and well managed. Good bathroom and shower. Not noisy. Comfortable bed and good TV. Fridge wasn't cool enough. SERVICE (AVERAGE); Polite but definitely won't go out of their way to serve. it is a bit of an effort. When I made an enquiry about a taxi, I was directed to a card with a number and asked to ring it. As a foreign guest i would have appreciated them picking up the phone and making the enquiry. Maybe that is what you get for 3 star? SAUNA/JACUZZI: Didn't personally use it. It is located outside in the back and you need to pay extra to book it. It wasn't enticing enough. BREAKFAST (POOR): I had read this from a few other guests, but have to agree with them. It was buffet style. Mostly a huge and disproportionate variety of sweets, some really not suited for breakfast. I thought the food lacked quality, flavour or freshness and clearly on a budget. WOULD I GO BACK? Very probably yes because the location is very convenient and the room is clean and well maintained facilities. I eat fine and heavy meals late in the evening, so don't lose much sleep over breakfast as for me it is not a deal breaker. After 9:00pm the hotel entrance is closed, so if you arrive you need to use the back entrance to access the hotel. This is only access to the rooms as the lobby cannot be accessed after 9:00 i.e. no room service. I think you get what you pay for here and if you have realistic expectations and know what it is you are looking for then this can be the right place for you.

Brilliant accommodation , large comfortable room, excellent breakfast pre skiing and so close to Gondola. Staff extremely friendly with lovely bar and seating area. Sauna and hot tub an added post ski bonus for the group.

Stayed with my family. Rooms are clean and comfy with beautiful views of the mountains. Very comfortable ski room, excellent breakfast and very nice stuff. Only drawback is that it is a 10 minute walk to the closest chairlift and on the edge of town.
