The Atterbury Hotel, Autograph Collection

Took my wife here to celebrate her birthday and when we got to the room we noticed the one chair was so marked up, we could’ve gotten a cleaner one at goodwill. Didn’t notice that the soaps and rod were ripped off the wall till we went to shower later that night. After the shower I went to fill our ice and it was half full of water. I’m not the type to complain, but for the price I wanted everything to be perfect for my wife for her birthday and the cleanliness wasn’t there.

In-room dining was very well executed, with many selections. Several rooms were large and newly renovated. Centrally located for quick access to many entertainment venues and restaurants.

The room was not clean. There was a tile missing in the shower and the shower curtain had a stain on it. Also, there were stains on the furniture. The toilet paper roll kept falling off the wall and the toilet seat was scuffed up. The beds were not very well made up when we first arrived. Check-in was at 4 PM and we arrived at 5 PM and they told us there were no rooms available yet. Fortunately, while we were standing there, they were able to find a room for us. The door to our room had paint flaking off. The overall condition of the room just seemed like it wasn’t clean. The whole hotel needs a major remodel. The location of the hotel was great, but I don’t feel like the hotel was up to Marriott standards.

We checked in around 1am on Friday/Saturday March 20/21. The first impression with the front desk agent was poor. She wasn’t pleasant. Her face showed like she didn’t care. No smile. It’s really not difficult to be pleasant and it is expected at a higher end hotel to receive at least better than average service. She was doing some paperwork and honestly seemed put off by us. She was wearing a sweatshirt and no name tag. Our stay included breakfast the next morning. She said she would usually present a coupon for the breakfast but couldn’t since the employee on an earlier shift didn’t leave her any. The room was small and just ok. The shower handle was falling off and the toilet seat had what appeared to be white out to possibly cover a crack in the toilet? In both instances, I believe it’s fair to expect better. I’m in the hotel business and I continually preach to my front desk employees how important the first impression is and to smile, be pleasant, and caring. I tell inform that if this occurs, guests are much less likely to notice smaller things that might not be up to our usual standards in the room especially. This is a perfect example of this situation. I don’t know the name of the employee (mainly because she didn’t have a name tag on). We will not be returning to this hotel.

Breakfast was great. Location was great. Staff very helpful. My score of a 3 was based on the size of the room for the price. No USB port except on the TV which when plugged in stopped the TV from playing. The size of the room was sooooooo small. The price indicated luxury and spaciousness and that was not the case. Even though I was a solo traveler there should have more for my money. Will not stay there again unless the price comes down
