Beyond Kata

Our basic room faced the street, and late at night, the club next door was incredibly loud and vibrating. This kind of defective room shouldn't even exist. If they had told me, I could have switched rooms or hotels. They knew about the noise but didn't even provide enough earplugs; when I asked the front desk at 10 PM, they said they were out. I asked when it would end, and they said 'midnight,' adding that if we couldn't stand it, we should call the police ourselves. It was still going strong past 12:30 AM. I contacted Trip.com for help, and the hotel responded by saying it would 'probably' end at 1 AM and that the hotel was fully booked, so we couldn't switch. We endured until past 1 AM when it finally quieted down, but my head was buzzing, and I couldn't fall asleep. I didn't sleep all night, and then suddenly around 7 or 8 AM, the room next door started blasting music again. I was completely at my breaking point, having been in touch with Trip.com since the early morning. The customer service agent, Hehe, was quite responsive, but the hotel was very arrogant. There was so much more drama after that. They said we couldn't check out, then suddenly a room became available, and they could immediately upgrade us. Then at the front desk, they said it was fully booked again and that we'd have to check out first and then switch rooms at 3 PM. They also misunderstood and thought we were causing trouble with other guests to get an upgrade. They showed us rooms, and we asked for a specific type, and suddenly another empty room appeared across the hall (even though it was supposedly full late at night, and by 8 or 9 AM, several rooms had already been vacated and cleaned – so was it really full?). I was initially determined to check out, but I was so exhausted from not sleeping all night that I couldn't bear the thought of going through the hassle of finding another hotel during the day. So, I reluctantly accepted the situation. In the new room, before I even started using it, there were ants in the bathroom sink. I don't even want to go into all the other complaints. 🙂...At least there was no vibration in this room at night.

There were no toiletries, so I had to buy my own toothbrush. In the morning, when checking out, they said our room didn't have a deposit. It turned out they had registered the wrong room number. The main entrance is quite a walk from the room door, so you have to walk a fair bit to get a taxi.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless, well-ventilated, and bright. The bedding was soft, comfortable, and odorless. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and patient, always responding promptly to our requests. The location is also very convenient, making travel and shopping a breeze. This place offers incredible value for money, and I highly recommend it!

The hotel is beautiful. Our sea-view room offered fantastic views of the beach and the sunset, which we loved! The kids really enjoyed it too. The staff were quite friendly. However, there were small ants coming out of the bathroom sink, so I'd suggest the hotel implement regular pest control. Another area for improvement is the food; most of the options seem geared towards Western palates. With so many Chinese tourists visiting now, it would be great to see some Chinese breakfast options like wontons or beef noodles added to the menu.

I was a bit worried at first when I saw online reviews mentioning a lot of bugs, but the hotel actually turned out to be really good. We had a rich and delicious breakfast every morning, and the beach was just a few minutes away. You could easily find parasailing, banana boats, and jet skis right there on the beach. The environment was great too. There was yoga available early in the mornings, and a band played music on the hotel lawn in the evenings. It was a very comfortable trip, and we traveled independently.

The sea-view room was amazing (slipped a little tip 😉). The hotel's location is excellent; it's less than a five-minute walk from the room to the beach. The only downside is that the water quality in Phuket isn't great – the filter turned yellow after just one wash. The hotel breakfast was very rich (they even had Indian food, which was a bit much for me!). Overall, it's really suitable for couples (get up early and you'll have the beach to yourselves for some crazy photo ops!). 🫰 All in all, it's pretty good, especially since I noticed this hotel always has the same price, whether it's high or low season 🤔.

The hotel room is quite spacious, but a bit damp. If it's your first time in Phuket and you want a sea view, this is a good choice. You can see the sea right from the restaurant, and there are plenty of things to do and many restaurants nearby. However, if you're planning to visit places like Phi Phi Island, there's no need to stay here. Next time, I'll stay in town and head straight to Phi Phi Island or Racha Island for a relaxing vacation. Definitely avoid island hopping tours; they're exhausting! A vacation 🏖️ is different from traveling. A vacation should be relaxing, not a rushed journey with forced photo ops like a tour.

The location is fantastic! You can walk right out of the hotel pool area onto the beach and into the ocean, which is super convenient. The water is really clear and it wasn't crowded at all. There are also lots of food options right outside the hotel, and a 7-Eleven directly across the street. Highly recommend! I'll definitely stay here again.
