The number of pools, cleanliness and relaxing areas are excellent. We enjoyed our breakfasts and especially the well-appointed room which is much nicer than many. Impressive customer service. Unfortunately, it took 10 minutes for our shower water to become warm plus the water pressure is low. This might be because we were on the top floor which we loved. The other plumbing issue was - we were informed not to put toilet paper in the toilet as it blocked it. Unexpected. We had a lovely stay and were close to many restaurants, shops, etc. Beware the seafood at some restaurants/eateries. Fortunately, we have not risked ordering it, but know several people who became ill. A lovely resort which enabled us to walk up steep steps and slopes to get extra exercise. We would happily return. Great value - it being low season.

The room was absolutely beautiful and spotless. Housekeeping came daily, and they were very diligent about restocking water, hangers, and other amenities. There's a fridge in the room, and you can take hot food to the front desk to be reheated, or just dine directly at the hotel restaurant. The hotel offers plenty of free facilities like hot and cold plunge pools, a sauna, and a steam room, all located on the 6th floor! The Sky Bar on the 7th floor is truly amazing; the hotel gives you two complimentary drinks, and from there, you can watch the stunning Kata beach views and sunset! I highly recommend opting for a room with pool access; it's only about a hundred more, and totally worth it! Nearby, there's a highly-rated spa on Google that's open until 00:30, with prices around 500 Thai Baht. It's perfect for a relaxing massage before heading straight back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. The hotel is very close to the beach, just a few hundred meters away, less than a ten-minute walk, and there's even a 7-Eleven on the way for supplies, haha! There are also many friendly cats at the hotel – seriously, they're so affectionate! This place is such a steal; everyone should stay here! Though I might complain if the prices go up, haha! I stayed during the May Day holiday for 338 RMB a night, which is incredibly good value – you'd never find that price in China!

The hotel's location is super convenient, right by the beach, less than a 10-minute walk away. Transportation nearby is also great, with tons of shops and food options! The only downside was that they only provide one key card and don't allow you to keep it for power, but the staff were very friendly. The swimming pool is beautiful and actually has multiple sections. It offers excellent value for money. I wouldn't recommend breakfast at the hotel, it was just so-so.

This was my third stay at this hotel! They've added a sauna, steam room, and hot/cold plunge pools this year, which was a very comfortable experience! The service was as attentive as ever, the hygiene was impeccable, and the environment was very quiet! On the day I checked out, while enjoying the sauna, I met the hotel owner (the gentleman in the hot tub in picture three). He was incredibly humble and enthusiastic, chatting with me and asking for suggestions for improvement. He generously offered me a complimentary Thai massage and even bought me two beers! All in all, I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again!

Nice big rooms with incredible balcony ocean view

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, so there's a bit of a climb to get in and out. The room balcony opens directly to the pool, and this hotel actually has several pools on different floors. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with all sorts of snacks available.

Daily cleaning of the room, changing of the towels and topping up of water,coffee and toiletries is a plus point. Staff wise: most of the staffs are nice but there was 1 male staff assigned in the restaurant this morning that was a bit rude to me but was very nice to other “white” guests.  I don’t really recommend the spa, better do it outside. Thier spa room has a weird smell, not clean and no water in the shower! The food in the restaurant inside the hotel is a bit pricey!

This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time I came with my child, we stayed in a room with a pool, which my child loved. This second time, we stayed in a room without a pool, and my friend really enjoyed it. Every stay has been very satisfying. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely stay here again. It's quiet, clean, and tidy, and only a few minutes' walk to the beach. What I love most is how peaceful it is. The only downside is that the curtains don't block out all the light, so some light seeps in during the morning. I prefer to sleep in complete darkness, so this light affects my ability to sleep late, haha.

Great place to stay close to cafes, restaurants, and beach. Quiet area although close to the city center. Friendly staff, clean rooms, rooftop bar, swimmingpools, hot pool, cold bath, sauna and gym. Very convenient. And beautif views over kata Bay.

First class treatment and amenities for a price I can only dream of back in the US.

Sugar Palms is a beautiful hotel. A quick 5 min walk to the beach which is amazing!!! The pools are wonderful with different bed/chair options. Breakfast has an assortment of different options. One thing to note the last block to the hotel is up a steep hill so not easily accessible for people with mobility issues.

What a wonderful stay! The room is spacious, clean and has everything you may need. The location is perfect as it is just on the end of the road but close enough to shops, restaurants and the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful! We will definitely stay here again! Great value for money!

Nice clean hotel, great location, great breakfast. Only negative and it’s a negative to take into account if you have any mobility concerns is the fact that the hotel is built on a hill. We were right up the top which required a mountain climb every time we had to go to the room. On the plus side the view was great from the top.
