Grand Mercure Phuket Patong

There was a gentleman at the front desk who spoke Chinese during check-in, I'd give him a perfect five out of five. He was very patient and handled things efficiently and flexibly. However, the towels in the room had stains, and the bedding had an indescribable strange smell. I stayed for two nights and developed a lot of bumps on my legs. There were also many Indian guests staying at the hotel. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from Jungceylon and 15 minutes from the beach. Overall, the location is convenient, offering a quiet escape while still being close to the action.

The hotel was incredibly clean, the staff were friendly, and the place was beautiful. The pool was huge, and there were plenty of facilities nearby. Plus, it's really close to Patong Beach, which was a big bonus! I highly recommend it to everyone!

I chose this Mercure based on reviews, having never stayed here before, and I can't fathom how it earned its five-star rating. The hotel hygiene was absolutely dreadful. The pillowcases had bloodstains, the drain was clogged, and I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night to get someone to fix it. Everything that could go wrong did. There were no disposable toothbrushes or toothpaste, not even basic slippers. As soon as I opened the door to my third-floor room, I was hit with a musty smell. The room facilities were old and outdated, and the layout was cramped. I've been to Phuket at least ten times, and this is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive either, which is ironic because I chose this hotel specifically because others said the breakfast was good. Thankfully, Trip.com customer service agent Xiao Wang's continuous follow-up helped calm me down, otherwise, how could I have enjoyed my trip with such a mood!

Honestly, the room was incredibly humid, probably because the hotel is old, and it smelled a bit moldy at first, which was a turn-off. However, the facilities and the staff's kindness exceeded my expectations. The location is also great. Considering the price difference compared to other hotels nearby, I think it's a good place for a short stay!

Traveling with family for our wedding anniversary, the hotel decorated our room, which was beautiful, and also sent us a cake! The facilities were very complete, and the hygiene was excellent, though the room was a bit damp. The environment was comfortable, and the pool water was warm. As for service, the slippers and toothbrushes weren't fully stocked, and we had to specifically ask for them.

I arrived late at night, and the front desk service was excellent. They even brought my luggage to the room. The hotel breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choices, and the Indian food was surprisingly good. It's a hotel with great value for money.
