Chuan Pool Villa Rawai Phuket

Huge thanks to Jacob for his hospitality! He's a really great host, and we absolutely loved this hotel. It has a big pool, private grounds, its own laundry facilities, and a shared kitchen and living room with everything you need to cook breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The rooms are excellent! I highly recommend the Chuan Pool Villa Rawai Phuket to everyone!!!!

The host is nice, and the location is convenient. It wasn't perfectly clean, though. There's no daily housekeeping. For the price, it's a good option.

When choosing a hotel, we were guided by the fact that we needed a hotel located away from the road, away from the sound of motorcycles driving around the clock, and definitely one with a kitchen where we could at least cook breakfast. We basically met these criteria. But upon checking in, the real quest began: We couldn't find the hotel itself! Using the GPS, we came to some closed gates with no markings and no bell. At first, we thought we were in the wrong place and decided to go around the same place on the map, but it turned out there was no approach or driveway there either. We spent an hour and a half trying to get through to someone via WhatsApp, email, or phone to find out how to get there, as the hotel wasn't on the road, but inside other areas. After an hour and a half, we already thought we'd been screwed by the hotel, but since we're stubborn, we decided to stand near the gates in the 33-degree heat, hoping they'd somehow open. We were lucky; after a while, a Thai woman drove up on a motorcycle, and while we were communicating in Russian, she spoke Thai, and we understood that the hotel we were looking for was inside. She opened the gate for us! With the key fob!! With her key fob!!! See the photo of the gate. Knocking on the gate was completely useless, as there was another 50-60 meters of road beyond the gate, and only at the end of it was the hotel building. It later turned out that she was the administrator and the cleaning lady, and basically one of the only staff at this hotel. She shows up there for a few hours a day to clean and then leaves, and that's it. She checked us in, explained that the gates were automatic and opened with the key fob, and gave us the key fob. There's no sign pointing to this hotel anymore, nor is there any signage indicating where it's located, nor any indication that it's even a hotel. Although other hotels have several signs, I'll attach a photo below. There's actually a dump next to the hotel grounds. As for the hotel itself: the room photos match the online photos exactly, no complaints there. There are also three kitchens, one of which is purely decorative, with nothing inside, and one kitchen that's completely usable for cooking. The hotel itself is new, with a very beautiful interior. The large, spacious rooms are well-decorated, and the decor is luxurious. It's clear a lot of money was invested in the hotel during construction, and then it was simply abandoned! They forgot to hire staff! They forgot to clean the grounds and maintain the grounds! The hotel grounds themselves are a complete disaster. I took photos and have a couple of them collaged, with online photos at the top and actual photos below. Almost all the plants and flowers that were once planted have simply withered, everything is overgrown with weeds, the grass is completely dry and yellowed by the sun, the dead trees and old branches are not removed at all, and there's a ton of garbage! It's clear they abandoned the hotel not a month or two ago, but at least six months ago. I have a photo. I specifically photographed the dirty ashtray we saw for the entire 10 days outside the empty room. I read reviews about the pool water myself; people said it was clean. But it was strange. We didn't dare swim in the pool for three days because the water was yellow-green! Then, either the purification system kicked in or they added something, but it periodically cleared up. We stayed at the hotel for nine nights in the second half of April 2026. During our entire stay, no one cleaned our room, let alone the kitchen we used, so we kept it tidy and clean ourselves, even taking out the trash because it could sit there for two days. The Thai woman who works there as a cleaner and is also the administrator, as far as I understand, only cleans upon check-in and after rooms are vacated, and that's it. She doesn't pick up the trash that's left in the grass, nor does she maintain the grounds. We wrote to the hotel owner on WhatsApp; it turns out he was in another country and didn’t know that the hotel was in such a state.

An excellent hotel in a quiet location, close to Rawai Pier and Nai Harn and Yanui beaches. The grounds are spacious, with plenty of room to roam, including a swimming pool, a barbecue area, two kitchens, and a washing machine. The internet on the second floor was occasionally slow, so I had to go down to the kitchen/lobby on the first floor to make calls. There are sofas and tables there. I give this hotel a 10 out of 10.

A wonderful spacious room, a huge kitchen equipped with everything you need, and a magnificent, large, clean pool. A very quiet and peaceful place. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions. We booked for three days, but ended up staying for 11, and received a discount for subsequent stays. I highly recommend it!

The villa is rented out by the room. It's a bit tired, but bearable. You'll need your own shower gels and shampoos, but you can cook and do your own laundry.
