Peppercorn Beach Resort Reviews

We stayed at the Peppercorn for 4 nights over Têt and only left the resort once - perfect considering that most places are closed over this period. The resort put effort into sharing Vietnamese culture over the festival, and arranged a fireworks display for New Years Eve and a traditional Lion Dance for New Years Day. We didn’t get bored for even a moment, and spent time sleeping, reading and relaxing, even taking the kayak out onto the water at sunset. The breakfast was delicious and changed every day. It included a buffet as well as cooked-to-order options. Lots of delicious fruit! They’re quite proud that the fruit jams and sourdough are made on-site. The à la carte menu offered a wide variety of choices and even after 8 meals we still hadn’t tried everything. The fresh summer rolls were a highlight of most meals! We indulged in some time at the spa and particularly enjoyed the rejuvenating herbal hair wash. We loved our room on the seafront and it had a good ac, acceptable shower, and fast internet. It would have been nice if there was a net curtain or something because if we wanted any privacy, the only choice was to close the heavy block-out curtains. The facilities are a bit shabby - the outdoor gym in a state of disrepair, the pathways uneven, and there was lots of rubble and building material randomly lying around. We wondered if there had recently been a big storm, or if it was just mess from building more chalets. The staff were accommodating and polite, although expect that the service will be quite slow because everything is personalized.

This resort was the place where I finally felt like I could truly unwind and relax. Throughout our time on the island, we hadn't encountered such professional and attentive staff as we found here. Our only regret is that our stay was too short. The resort has a truly wonderful and peaceful atmosphere. From sunrise until late into the night, we were able to enjoy the quiet beach and the soothing sound of the sea. Having visited Phu Quoc twice before, I wasn't sure I would return for a third time, but I genuinely believe this resort is worth coming back for. It's a special place that made a lasting positive impression."

Peppercorn Resort in Phu Quoc offers a warm, community vibe unlike big hotels. It’s peaceful by the ocean yet close to VinWonders Water Park. We enjoyed the pool, beach, and free kayaks. The restaurant was excellent, and their surprise birthday cake for my son showed true hospitality. A fantastic stay! We can fully recommend this small resort to any tourists and families looking for relaxation in a peaceful and quiet environment. The resort is well maintained and offers great food a la carte. You can snorkel right in front and discover a bit of sea life, enough for kids to explore. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Very nice place just next to the sea, very quiet, the rooms are bigs, the breakfast is fantastic, most of the food is homemade! Service is just perfect with very friendly people. An unique experience I recommend without hesitation.

Overall it was good, the staff was very enthusiastic, the food in the restaurant tasted good, there was a lady who taught herself some Chinese, and I helped her register WeChat. She also asked me about my itinerary one day in advance and helped me book a car at the Grab price (the hotel is located in a remote area and it is difficult to get a taxi). In addition, the merino coconut ice cream popsicle in the hotel is delicious! But the price is twice as expensive as outside. The only drawback is that the bath towels replaced on the second day were obviously yellow and smelled bad, I hope it will be improved

The room facilities are generally good. The resort is pristine and the environment is very quiet. It is good for parent-child leisure. You can go sea fishing, snorkeling, and the overall experience is good.

In my opinion, this place does not deserve the enthusiastic reviews that other users leave. There are three main disadvantages and I recommend paying attention to them when choosing. Firstly, this is the territory, which looks completely unkempt. Of course, you can’t tell from the profile photo. There is a lot of construction waste, unkempt paths (some of which lead to nowhere or end in a path), dry bushes and stumps from felled trees. Along the sea line there is a path of sharp stones, which you can hurt your feet on, broken concrete and a mixture of sand and garbage. The outdoor shower at the exit from the sea almost does not work. The pool with sea water is full of dirt at the bottom. A sports ground for sad athletes, three old bicycles, one of which has had a flat tire all week, a cold main pool. All this looks sad. The second thing I would like to draw attention to is the restaurant. It has a specific menu, very expensive dishes compared to prices in other places (x3 to prices in restaurants on Long Beach), and, most importantly, the food is mostly not tasty. Well, or very much an acquired taste, and because of this you feel like a hostage of the situation - the area around the hotel is not a tourist place and one can say almost no alternatives. Breakfasts are meager, you choose eggs and drinks from the menu, there is also a buffet. There are no salads, the food is cold, all the juices are generously diluted with ice, there are almost no meat dishes. The staff in the restaurant smiles, but then forgets to bring you one omelet out of three. And not just once. The kitchen gives out dishes incredibly slowly during lunch and dinner, because 1-3 people work. And the third point. Small storms happen here due to the wind rose in the northern part of the island. For three days the wind blew from the north, it is impossible to go into the sea with big waves, a lot of garbage has accumulated near the shore due to the surf. On such days there is no possibility to swim even in sunny weather, although on the western part of the island at this time it is normal and the sea is calm. No one cleans up the garbage in the water even when everything has calmed down, you need to go further into the sea through it and then you can enjoy the clean water. In general, it would be fair to note that they are trying to slowly clean up the territory, but the scale of neglect is such that there is no chance to fix it unless some major reconstruction is carried out. Of course, there are positive impressions. In general, if you do not pay attention to all this mess, the hotel has a calm atmosphere, the staff is smiling and attentive, the sea is windless and further from the shore is clean. The rooms are large, the water in the shower is warm. There are all sorts of masks and fins for the sea near the pool. They try to clean the rooms, but not very much - in 6 days they did not change our beds. Apparently. We had to ask for this separately. The girls at the counter helped with calling a taxi. Despite the significant shortcomings and the relatively high cost of staying, we had a good rest. But I certainly wouldn’t repeat the experience or recommend this place to others.

Nice environment, great service attitude, far beyond expectations

Our family of three spent three wonderful days here. Quiet beach house, clean environment, freshly prepared meals, friendly waiters, always responsive to guests' needs. We went snorkeling from beach house No. 1, and we could see beautiful living corals and schools of small fish about 50 to 60 meters away.

The hotel is on the North Island, very quiet, suitable for lying quietly. There is a beach very close to the door, the visibility of the sea is good, you can see small fish if you swim out a little. It is really great to be able to snorkel in the hotel. The waiters are very enthusiastic. Although there is not much food for breakfast, it is very delicious.
