Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc

Vingroup pretty much dominates every industry in Vietnam, and this hotel is part of their Vinpearl brand – choosing it is definitely the right move. It includes unlimited rides on the Vinbus routes 17 and 19 during your stay. The bus goes as far south as the InterContinental Hotel, stopping at King Kong Mart along the way. If you're heading to Sunset Town, taking the bus (then a short taxi from the InterContinental stop) could save you around 1 million VND in taxi fares round trip. The hotel is deeply integrated with other Vingroup properties like VinWonders, Safari, and Grand World, boasting an excellent location and the most frequent shuttle services to Safari and Grand World. Recommended: Sunset BBQ Cleanliness is good, and the pool hygiene is better than the Crowne Plaza. The service was consistently friendly, and the staff were very dedicated in introducing the hotel amenities.

Pros: The hotel is well-equipped, with a wide variety of breakfast options and a highly recommended buffet dinner that features authentic and delicious Vietnamese local specialties. The hotel environment is beautiful; the beach is perfect for relaxing, and I enjoyed several days of stunning sunsets. The pool and palm trees are very photogenic, and the frangipani flowers scattered everywhere were very therapeutic. Cons: The room facilities are a bit old; the doorknobs and wardrobe handles were broken, and there was a very strong sewer smell from the bathroom floor drain. The price also doubled during the Chinese New Year period. Overall, it would be quite good value for money if visited during off-peak times. There are free shuttle buses to the zoo and Vinpearl Land if you're exploring the north, so I personally highly recommend staying here. The hotel also offers some paid kids' club activities.

I previously left a short review, so I'll add a bit more. - The hygiene was acceptable, pretty standard, not exceptionally clean but tolerable. - The service attitude was average. Perhaps it's just the local vibe, but they weren't overly enthusiastic, though you'd occasionally find some friendly staff. However, if you had a request, they could generally sort it out. - The resort environment was good; the lawns and greenery were well-maintained. The beach had quite a few impurities like twigs, leaves, shells, and cigarette butts. If they could clean up the beach, it would be next level. The waves were quite strong, not really suitable for swimming in the sea, so it's more for playing by the shore. The seawater wasn't very clear either; the sea near JW Marriott to the south is clearer. - Plenty of bath towels were provided. The sun loungers tended to be reserved, but if no one was there, you could temporarily sit on one. If you're bringing kids and planning to visit the amusement park or zoo, staying here is convenient for getting around. It's about a 45-minute drive from the airport.
