Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

The room was really old and felt very strange – unusually high ceilings, and the space was abnormally large and dim. I booked a tower room, expecting a new high-rise, but it turned out to be in a creepy, century-old building (not the main hotel building). Huge disappointment! The location wasn't great either; even though it's in the heart of Philadelphia, it felt a bit dirty and run-down.

Chinatown is also easily within walking distance, so you'll never have to worry about finding great Chinese food. With restaurants, shops, and transport hubs all around, getting around and finding places to eat couldn't be easier. ⚠️ **Check-in Details Were a Letdown** However, for a Marriott brand, the attention to detail in the room was quite lacking. Upon entering, I found there was no drinking water, and the bedsheets had noticeable stains, which immediately brought down the overall experience. While the bathroom facilities were complete, the general maintenance felt a bit subpar and didn't meet the brand standards I expected. ✨ **Overall Impression** If your main priority is easy access to explore central Philadelphia, this location is an excellent choice. Great location right in the city center, and right across from Reading Terminal Market, which has tons of food and fresh produce. The service was efficient; even with a conference happening, check-in wasn't a long wait. The facilities are well-maintained and don't look old, and the cleanliness was excellent. Overall, it's a great choice for a business trip or vacation in Philadelphia.

I had an urgent matter come up and needed to change my reservation, but the hotel wouldn't allow any date changes or cancellations. Absolutely no service at all, and even Trip.com couldn't resolve anything.

The hotel is a bit old and has many rooms. There was only one person at the front desk for check-in, which was very slow. Guests are encouraged to check in online by themselves. It's located in the city center, right next to Reading Terminal Market, and the area outside felt a bit chaotic.

Decent, no-frills stay. Great location right across from Ruding Market with lots of delicious food options.
