Nevis Estate Boutique Hotel

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The hotel is claiming that we “chose not to remain” and therefore our stay was non-refundable. That is not an accurate characterization of what happened. We did not decide to leave after beginning our stay. We physically could not remain in the room due to an overwhelming and pervasive odor present immediately upon entry. We entered the room briefly, did not unpack, did not use any amenities, did not touch the bed or bathroom, and exited almost immediately because the conditions made the room uninhabitable for us. The stay was never meaningfully commenced. This was not a matter of preference, comfort, or a change of plans. It was a matter of the room being unsuitable for occupancy. A non-refundable policy should apply when a guest voluntarily shortens or abandons a stay — not when the accommodation itself prevents the guest from staying at all. Despite explaining this clearly and requesting reconsideration or escalation, the hotel has refused to issue a refund. I’m extremely disappointed with both the condition of the room and the lack of accountability in how this was handled. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience.

This hotel uses a strong air freshener that is dispensed through wall-mounted dispensers placed throughout the hallways. The smell is incredibly strong, and permeates into the rooms. I had to flee the hotel within 10 minutes, after developing a severe migraine. Despite knowing I had to go to my car and take medication, the hotel charged our credit card an hour after we left for the full amount of our stay. In a response to an email from the manager, we were told the no refund policy was firm. Our romantic weekend, which we had planned for months, was ruined and we were left with the bill. Why is this hotel even using so much air freshener? Are they trying to cover up a moldy smell? Anyone with asthma, breathing issues, chemical sensitivities, or migraines should avoid this hotel, as should anyone who likes to be treated with compassion.

What a beautiful inn, and so close to the main shopping area in Perth! The room was perfect. Everything was pristine and beautifully decorated. Loved the Nespresso maker in the room. Although we didn't eat breakfast at the inn, the aromas coming from the kitchen were mouth watering! Beautiful bar and lounge area. Drinks in the bar and mini-bar were pricey but we brought our own booze. Glasses were available in the room. Would love to go back in summer when the pool is open!

Our stay at Nevis was truly memorable and relaxing. Each room is tastefully decorated, creating an inviting atmosphere. This charming boutique hotel boasts an excellent ambiance, high-quality bed linen and towels, and maintains an impeccably clean environment. The bar is well-appointed with a fine selection of whiskeys. Our package also included a complimentary tour at the local Top Shelf Distillers, which was a perfect way to conclude our trip. We highly recommend this hotel and will certainly return in the future.

Room was clean and quite nice but not a $300 luxury room. Would give 3.5 stars if I could. Room could be very nice with a few improvements - bathtub, fireplace insert, individual thermostat for the room - it was cold and the staff brought a heater very quickly, but a $300 room should have a thermostat in the room. The check in process was very annoying - multiple emails at various stages of the check in - would have preferred to simply check in at the front desk on arrival. Still, it was quite a nice room and place to stay. I would recommend it given the above caveats

The staff were amazing. My partner has a allergy to scents and our room was heavily perfumed. We were able to view another room which was much better and we changed rooms and enjoyed our two nights. We really appreciated the staffs care and kindness with this issue. The breakfasts were amazing. Lots of choices. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
