Woodcliff Hotel and Spa

I am writing this review on the first day of January 2026 because I want to ensure no other travelers make the same mistake I did in the coming year. My December stay at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa was not just a disappointment, it was a medical nightmare. The room was freezing. Even with the thermostat set to 70°F, it did not work, leaving me exposed to the cold on my first night. I found bugs in the room, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Following this stay, I contracted an Adenovirus infection (hotel to home, I had fever on the day I checked out, and passed out in bed when I got back home. I got my diagnosis on day 3 because I couldn’t sleep at night, it was worse than covid19). I spent 10 days in agony with a high fever, conjunctivitis (eye infection), and a cough so severe I could not sleep for 8 straight nights. My entire Christmas season was ruined. The hotel’s lack of care is staggering. I completed their guest survey to report these health and safety issues but received zero feedback. Do not start your 2026 by staying here. Between the broken facilities, pests, and the total lack of accountability, this hotel is a health risk. Please stay somewhere else.

Excellent hotel! Was quite impressed by overall experience! Grounds are outstanding! Pool, hot tub in perfect working order, Wished they had more ice machines on each floor, but not that big of a deal. Highly recommended!!!!

My friend and I booked Woodcliff as a mid-winter get away, to relax in the pool and go to the spa. When we booked our trip, nothing on the website indicated that the pool was closed, nor did we get any notification that the pool was going to be closed. Upon checking in, I asked the gentleman at the front desk what the pool hours were. He said the pool was down. Surprised and disappointed, I asked if it was a short term closure, the “gentleman” responded that it had been on your website for 2 weeks and that he was happy to cancel our check in & that we could leave - no apology, no recommendations on other activities - just an offer to cancel our whole reservation. The hotel is nice but the interaction at check in does not exemplify luxury service, which is what is advertised. This was not welcoming nor good customer service in the least bit. We had planned on using the spa but chose to go elsewhere. This reservation was our first time at Woodcliff, and safe to say we will not be making the trip back.

Trip.com and Woodcliff gave me brutal service. The worst possible. I couldn’t be more dissatisfied. Trip.com website gave me room options that I chose from and booked/paid. I found  out after paying for my booking that they were for different dates than what I entered. The wrong dates. They would do absolutely NOTHING to help me to rectify this and claimed that the hotel offered no cancellations (a month before the stay). Woodcliff front desk wouldn’t return 3 phone call voice messages and their reservation desk wouldn’t help either as they were another “third party”. They took my money and ran.

Staff was gracious and friendly, bar was awesome and entertainment was great. Morning cafe options were good and appreciate the free coffee! Rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable and love the king size bed! Bathroom had some stains on wall that could have been cleaned easily so that was a little gross. Shower was not super warm but was ok. Was with a (well behaved) hockey group and I know staff was struggling with another team who was not cooperating with expectations and I felt bad for them, lots of credit to them for their patience. Overall would 100% stay here again.

We were greeted by James at the front desk, who was beyond pleasant! Thank you, James! The room was clean, but in need of repairs. The HVAC unit was making noises all night which make it hard to sleep. All in all, we had a good stay.

The hotel is old and needs updating. During the stay, pool was close, as well the golf course. The spa is great, updated and relaxing.

The one "working" elevator was out of service 4 times in the 48 hours I stayed here. I was on the 4th floor and I'm handicapped. I will never stay here again. Also, no microwave is a huge miss.

Staff was great! All was in order at the property and it was great to see some upgrades being done. Our son will be attending St. John Fisher University next year and we are looking forward to our next stays after his football games!!
