DON’T EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND BLAME CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR MISTAKES!! My home town is Pembroke and I had to come home to attend a funeral. When I booked a few days in advance I asked for an early check in time at 12 pm which they said they would accommodate. I checked in on Friday afternoon at 11:30 because I was there and they said my room was ready. I took a shower because I had to get ready for the funeral, and realized that the water was freezing cold. I called the front desk to tell them the issue and they said it was because I checked in early, I said oh sorry (thinking that’s weird). The lady then told me not to worry because it would be on soon. I went to the funeral then came back to change to go out for dinner with some friends and didn’t get back till the evening. Found out the water was still cold when I went to wash my face to go to bed. I called back down to the front desk and a after a bit of a run around (the guy didn’t really seem to know what was going on) he switched my room a little later. Why would they tell me the water was cold because of my early check in? Why Wouldn’t they tell me when I came that afternoon that the water still wasn’t fixed and I would need to switch rooms instead of the evening right before I was going to bed? Again just my idea of customer service. When I checked out the next day I asked if they were going to to accommodate their guests for having cold water and trying to tell me it was because I checked in early when it clearly wasn’t the issue. They said they didn’t know what they were going to do and that I had to speak to their manager. When I left the hotel I realized that they had double charged my card, so I for sure needed to speak to someone about getting my money back). After calling the hotel back to tell them the issue they told me they didn’t know what to do so they would pass it on to the next person. That person didn’t call me back so I called them and said I would have to speak to their manager Lori who wouldn’t be in till Monday. I didn’t receive a call from the her on Monday so I called and was told that She had already left for the day. I told them I would like a call as soon as possible because I would like to make sure I get the double charge back. I still didn’t receive a call from her all week until I called her back on Thursday!! The manager Lori explained to me that Expedia charged my card and they did as well because I gave them my credit card, which would have been fine but they didn’t explain that to me. It was clear that Lori obviously doesn’t train her staff properly because no one ever seems to know what’s going on. It starts to get a little frustrating after awhile so as a customer I’m going to be upset! I preceded to tell the manager Lori about the cold water and how the staff told me it was because I had checked in early. She told me that check in time was 3 pm. I said ok but your hotel told me I could have have an earl

The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. We were disappointed in our room #321. We could not operate the TV even though we followed the instructions. At the first try we could not be bothered with further instructions e.g. such as if that did not work try this. We could not close the room darkening curtains and as a result, the sun was streaming in at sunrise. Although we were happy the shower had safety bars it was really weird that you could not reach in to set the dial for the water temperature. There was only one door so you had to get into the shower before you could operate the dial

This is an older hotel but it has been very well kept. Everything worked in our room. The mattress was on the harder side, but the sheets and comforter make it cozy. Our room had a microwave and fridge. When we checked in, we were handed breakfast bags with our choice of oatmeal or breakfast sandwiches. These bags contained apple or orange juice, yogurt, an orange or apple, oatmeal or breakfast sandwich and a muffin. We appreciated not having to go down to the breakfast room in the morning. We stayed 2 nights and didn’t see housekeeping, but we were told there were none in the building and if we needed anything, to call the front desk. Hopefully housekeeping comes back after covid. All in all, we had a great stay. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express or the Best Western when we’re in town- but they were sold out for a hockey tournament. This hotel is a much better price, so we may have found a new home when visiting our local family. The only downside is no indoor pool, which the others have.
