The room is simple and elegant, clean and tidy, warm and romantic. The butler-style service is meticulous and makes people feel at home.
The hotel has an excellent environment, embedded in a wonderful hillside, surrounded by trees and green grass, with cattle and horses roaming behind it. The Western-style breakfast is delicious and hearty, and the service is attentive, making people forget to leave.

Real treat. We stayed at the Cringletie on the Sunday Taster Package in a Classic Room. 7 courses with paired wines was absolutely delicious. Room was lovely too. Staff were attentive and professional. We would recommend a visit to this little gem of a place in the Scottish Borders.

I stayed with a friend recently and couldn’t fault this hotel. From the incredible 5 course evening meal to the very friendly and welcoming staff this was a real treat. We stayed in Traquair (the disabled twin room) which was very comfortable with a huge bathroom. The surrounding area was beautiful and I would definitely return.

Lovely visit to Cringletie, for family weekend. Lots of really lovely homely touches, and a warm welcome. We were particularly grateful for the care that was taken for my daughter who is vegan. Even the shortbread in the room was vegan. Dinner was a fabulous experience for us all and the service was superb. This was our 2nd stay and we hope to be back again.

Beautiful setting for this wonderful hotel. From the minute we walked through the door, we felt relaxed. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff made every effort to make us comfortable. Also, the owner spoke to us and other guests, which was a nice touch. Food was delicious. We hope to return.

Cringletie House is a lovely retreat in the Scottish Borders . It’s a wonderful relaxing place to stay . The staff are so welcoming and cannot help enough . We love our visits and so does our pet spaniel Max . Max is allowed in the public areas of the hotel and able to dine with us in the bar area . We cannot thank the staff enough for all the doggie treats . Max is very spoilt as are we ! He loved his doggie tasting menu ! The food is top notch fine dining . The menu changes daily which is great if you Stay for several nights . The Tasty Sunday comes with fine wines accompanying each course to complement the dishes . We always have a fantastic time staying at this hotel . We are real foodies and this hotel deserves 5stars ….. special thanks too to Hubert , Kirsty ,and Harriet and chef Robin It really is a gem and the friendly country house hotel is a special place . Bill & Ann The owners are so personable and alongside their staff a warm welcome awaits . ….Thank you for making my Birthday Visit so Special . We have an annual stay with our friends for dinner, bed and breakfast which includes the 7 course tasting dinner experience with wines selected for every course. This year it was even better than before with the menu and wines chosen for us being truly superb. As in the past the hotel staff were extremely helpful without fuss. The bedroom was spotless, the bed was very comfy and it was well equipped with everything we could need. The dining room is spacious and beautifully decorated to suit the grandeur of the building. The estate is well maintained with huge areas of spring flowers at this time of the year.

We stay here when visiting Murrayfield for the Rugby. Lovely country hotel, only short distance from Edinburgh. Beautiful grounds, which were amass of snow drops when we visited. Rooms are large and well appointed. Dining is excellent. Bed breakfast and dinner promotions are good value for money. Would highly recommend.
