The hygiene was good. It was a bit inconvenient to ask for a toothbrush at the front desk, and razors weren't provided. The slippers were regular sandals, not disposable, which is eco-friendly. There were mosquitoes at this time of year, but I didn't see any mosquito repellent. The breakfast was quite rich, a mix of Chinese and Western, and tasted good. It's a non-smoking hotel, and you absolutely cannot eat durian in the room. My colleague was fined 1000 Thai Baht just for eating a bite of durian. There are two pools downstairs, where a lot of foreigners often sunbathe, but unfortunately, my business trip schedule was too packed to enjoy them.

The room was decent, spacious, and had a bathtub. However, the service was truly subpar. The mini-fridge in the room still had an empty Sprite bottle left by the previous guest. Even after informing the front desk, housekeeping didn't remove it that day. On another occasion, while I was in the room, housekeeping knocked very aggressively and rudely asked if I wanted the room cleaned.

Just stayed at this hotel, and it was a fantastic experience! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and check-in was quick and efficient. The room was clean and tidy, with a cozy atmosphere, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring I had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was well-equipped, and the hot water supply was consistent. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transport links nearby, making dining and shopping very easy. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Cons: 1. The hallway outside the room isn't carpeted, and the bed is right next to the door. I was constantly woken up by various banging noises early in the morning. Light sleepers, beware. 2. This hotel is definitely not a 'Chinese friendly' hotel. The staff were cold and unhelpful. I had to pay for a broken mouthwash cup. Pros: 1. The hotel has a lot of foreign guests, mostly elderly Europeans and Americans. Every day I could see old couples sitting on their balconies across from me. 2. Jomtien Beach is just a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel is nice and located in a great spot, but the breakfast variety needs significant improvement. We were very disappointed to find that an expensive New Year’s Eve dinner was automatically included in our price. This was not mentioned in our Trip.com confirmation and felt like a "tricky" hidden fee. The food at the gala was quite simple for such a high price. On a positive note, the staff put on an interesting show featuring Thai dancing and boxing (I hope they were paid extra for their hard work!), though the singer and band were unremarkable.

Staying for the third time in this hotel as I had a decent experience staying in the new wing "jacuzzi suites" on the previous two occasions and the location is handy for Jomtien, however on this occasion I stayed at the old dilapidated wing and my experience was terrible. Walked into the room and it had a strong stench. The rain shower dripped, the hand shower leaked, a lot of the woodwork was in terrible condition, the internet through LAN as well as Wi-Fi kept dropping, my deluxe room was meant to have a kitchenette but it had no utensils like spatulas, knives etc. Just a pot, pan, 2 bowls and plates. The kettle was worn and had a button missing. There was not a single electrical plug point that was free or available to be used in the room so I had to unplug the phone and one of the lamps in order to plug in my phone charger and laptop. The TV is not smart. Moreover the check-in experience was absolutely horrendous. Since my flight arrived in Bangkok at 6:00 a.m. I had requested for an early check-in around 9:00 a.m. I was promptly sent a curt message through my trip.com booking by the staff advising me how there will be an 800 baht or 1600 baht early check-in fee with a complete disregard for my loyalty and the fact that I was going to be having my third stay here. I emailed the manager through the Hotel website directly requesting them to waive this fee in acknowledgment of my loyalty and the fact that I may want to extend my stay by a further 6 nights to which they responded by saying that early check-in would be subject to availability if I don't pay the early check-in fee as they used the fee to block my room and do not allow anyone else to book it for those hours... but I don't understand because checkout is until 12:00pm and if the room hasn't been booked then what is the issue with allowing a loyal returning guest who will be spending five nights (or potentially 11) in your hotel to check in a few hours earlier unless of course the idea is to try and squeeze every single penny out of the guest which is highly against the values of the Thai hospitality (and hospitality industry in general) that I've been accustomed to from my many visits to this lovely country. In all my years of travel and staying at hotels like The Langham in London, the Grand Hyatt in Shenzhen, exotic hotels in Belize where celebrities like Nicolas cage and Madonna have stayed at I have never been asked or bullied into paying an early check-in fee. Upon arrival at the hotel the staff member that clearly does not have any hospitality training for reasons I will be stating shortly asked me to pay 800 Thb early check-in fee even though I had advised them of my 24-hour journey. At this point I obviously just wanted to check into my room and go to sleep so I got bullied into paying the fee. In spite of this I was made to wait for over an hour in the hotel lobby. I had made it clear to the staff member that I don't mind paying the fee as long as I get to check into my room right away. While I was asked to wait the staff member did not offer some water or any beverage. Once the staff member decided that it was time to hand over the keys of my room to me, they shouted across the lobby my first name(usually hotels address you by your salutation and last name) and called me to the front desk to hand me the keys. Once again no offer was made to provide assistance with my luggage. I decided to not extend my stay at this hotel and to move to a different hotel. The breakfast did not have the usual Continental pastry items but its good if you do eat meat and eggs. Since I don't I stuck to the selection of 4 fruits. The coffee was horrible. My advice is to avoid staying at the old wing completely even if the nightly tariff is 10 US dollars. If you must stay at this hotel, choose the new wing but anything more than 70 US dollars is not worth it. The jacuzzi suites or as the hotel misleadingly calls them are actually whirlpool bathtubs for just one person.
