Sweetwater Lift Lodge

We had a 1-bedroom. The bedroom and living area was spacious, but the kitchen was teeny. Only one person could be in it at a time and the trash had to sit in the entryway if we wanted to open the refrigerator, oven, dishwasher or lower cabinets. Not everything on the inventory was in the kitchen and I had to request items twice. The carpets were filthy and uneven and in need of cleaning or better yet, replaced. Our view was a retaining wall. Several nights of the week we heard children or teens stampeding through the hallways with management ignoring the noise. The only reason I give this a 2 and not a 1 is because everyone on staff was friendly and responded quickly to requests most of the time. The walk to Main Street was 1/2 mile, but up a steep hill. At least a free bus system ran with a stop a block and a half away. The equipment in the workout room needed serviced and was difficult to adjust. The treadmill would randomly speed up making it unsafe to use. Upon checkout I pointed out the filthy carpets and the staff’s response was they had plans to renovate, which tells me, they knew it wasn’t cleaned sufficiently, yet ignored it.

Park City Peaks

It was located right in between to two busy places of park city. I loved that they offered cookies and hot chocolate during the afternoon. They had an extensive complimentary breakfast with lots of seating in the restaurant. The weekend we were there the ice rink was closed which was a bummer but not a big deal. I liked that they had a indoor/outdoor pool and two hot tubs, one outdoor and one indoor. The pool was definitely too cold to swim in for winter. They also had a steam room and sauna. The room was a decent size and roomy for my husband and I. I wish the fridge would actually get cold enough to keep food cold but we were only there one night. The bed was very comfortable. The walls are a little bit thin, we could hear our neighbors around 3 am drunk talking loudly. They did have a noise curfew but it was being ignored.

This is the cheapest room in the trip, the environment is quite good, basically foreigners, next to the Outlets, most people come here to ski! The room is also very clean! There are warm pools and many children are playing inside.
The St. Regis Deer Valley

My husband and I stayed at the St. Regis with our kids (5 & 8 year old boys) in November and I have nothing but amazing things to say about our stay. From the moment we were greeted to the day we left, we were treated with respect and a genuine desire to make our vacation a nice experience and that they did! Brittany at the front desk was phenomenal. We are Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and although we have stayed MANY MANY nights at Marriott properties, we have never been upgraded to a suite because that upgrade is based on availability and for some reason, it is never available EXCEPT this time, thanks to Brittany! We were upgraded to the most beautiful, spacious Suite, overlooking the mountains, that you can imagine. Thank you, Brittany! We will never forget the room and the memories we made there as a family and thank you for the beanie babies. The boys still sleep with them. The Butlers also made our experience memorable by showing us how to saber a bottle of champagne in the privacy of our patio! The food, service, bed, pillows, drivers, everyone and everything about this trip was spectacular. Also, one of the ski instructors (Matt?) took us to downtown Park City on one occasion and he have us so much information about the town and it's history that we wouldn't have known otherwise....thank you! Thank you for being so friendly, especially to our boys. If you are thinking of going to Deer Valley/Park City area, don't hesitate to book at the St. Regis. It is top notch. You will not regret it. We will be back! -Danay Pavon

Covid will date this review. But if you simply want to take the family skiing, especially first time testing out PC, then this may be the most ideal choice. Upgrade to the rooms with a kitchen. Market is 10 minute walk. Ski rental on premises is not simply the least expensive but great people! Test your gear the afternoon before skiing. Pick up in the morning and walk out the side door, across the parking lot and you are on the beginner hill. Order in to minimize social contact but everyone in PC wears a mask everywhere (except the bars on Main). 20 min walk to old town for a great collection of restaurants ( make reservations!). Some rooms are in the process of renovation. Little ones enjoyed the pull out sofa. Check in/out process should be the model for every hotel which is a simple app for instructions and pick up envelope in lobby. Pool is super tiny. We avoided amenities due to Covid.
