Crowne Plaza Paris République, an IHG Hotel

We stayed six nights at this fairly spartan property that was fitted with basic room attributes including a small refrigerator, a hair dryer and a tiny safe. We requested a coffee maker and received a hot pot with instant coffee. Getting an iron in the room proved a bit of an ordeal. The room was clean and the beds were quite good. Hotel staff was uniformly convivial, accommodating and helpful with exception of an encounter with the night manager (more on that later). Only one low voltage outlet in the bathroom was provided that could power an electric razor. My daughter brought a dual-voltage curling iron and hair straightener that could not be used in the bathroom due to lack of an electrical outlet. Staff ultimately provided an extension cord to be strung from the nightstand, and over the bed that my daughter was able to use to reach a wall mirror in the bedroom. We had the misfortune to be at the property during the annual Pride celebration at Place de la Republique directly in front of the hotel. My wife has mobility issues and we had to push through hundreds of drunken celebrants to get to the only entrance to the hotel. Scary stuff getting pushed along by a mob where my wife could have fallen and been trampled. I understand the Pride celebration is a public event but its a scheduled event that the hotel could have alerted clients to and made provisions to have opened a guarded entrance on the backside of the building away from the inebriated mob. With an early morning departure to the airport, I went to the desk the night before to check out so we could leave quickly the following morning. The front desk clerk advised that the hotel had my card on file and my e-mail address so they would send me the bill thereafter with nothing additionally to be done the next morning - just drop the key and run. As we were leaving early the next morning the night manager told me that I couldn't leave because I hadn't settled my bill. He inferred I was skipping out without paying the bill. I recounted the discussion I had the previous night and he repeated firmly that the bill needed to be closed out before we could leave. It was an uncomfortable encounter that was unnecessary. Somebody needs training here and its not the client. In summary, I'd say this property lacked many expected elements for the price point and as such could only describe it as providing moderate value. The lack of provisions to accommodate client access during the Pride celebration and the check-out snafu made it seem that they were somehow new to the game.

D'win Hotel - Paris Marais

Disappointing experience. The hotel is old and tired. Good location, but is poorly soundproofed, for example open under the door and out into the corridor. In addition, there was no heating in the room, which meant that it was very cold in the afternoons/evenings and nights. The management did nothing to improve the situation. Wall to wall tapestry was very dirty. In one corner it looked as if someone had spat or poured something out. No TV channels in English, e.g. BBC or CNN, are down. All in all, a pretty bad experience at a far too high price.

The location is in the city center, very convenient nearby, close to the subway station, next to many restaurants, department stores and supermarkets, the Pompidou Museum is also nearby, you can find a shared bicycle nearby, it is recommended, the only one is criticized Place.... Stayed for three consecutive nights, and the sheets were not replaced. Should it be environmentally friendly? Still lazy...? After all, the people of this country will enjoy life, but this hotel belongs to the service industry, and it still needs further improvement! Still can live...

Rooms were snug but nice; we didn’t spend any time in our room except to sleep so this worked well for us. Great facilities including nespresso machine, mini fridge and microwave + tv. Shower was luxurious and had great pressure. Cleaned the room and gave fresh towels each day. Staff are kind, offered us restaurants to try etc. Can request breakfast to be delivered to your room at a time that suits you but we didn’t do this and went out instead. Location felt very safe. Didn’t really enjoy the buzzing in and having to ask for keys each time you arrive and leave but that’s all and would be my only improvement!

Excellent location, in the heart of Marais, two steps from Rue de Rivoli and metro 1 Hotel de Ville. The hotel offers a comfortable room with all services (including bidet). Comfortable bed. The animals are welcome and no extra for their stay is requested. Breakfast is varied and of good quality.
Hotel Andréa

The only great thing about the hotel was the location. It is near eating areas, major and minor transportation outlets within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The value is terrible, because everything else was far subpar. I wished I would have read others' reviews before booking this hotel. Despite the hotel reservation saging that 70 Euro has already been deducted and to pay the difference at the hotel. Upon arrival, they demanded to pay in full and in cash. (Read other reviews, what happened to me, has happened to others). My ”business” room was an odd-shaped 60 square feet. Navigating the room was difficult. The small trash can had remanants (dental floss, tissue) from the previous guest. Bathroom tiles missing. Room decor was outdated. Sitting on the toilet required you to open the shower door to have enough space for your leg/feet. Room AC/heater did not work. It constantly pushes warm air, despite temperature control setting. Internet was not working for more than 48 hours. The front staff woman with glasses was unresponsive and did not care for guest needs. She very rude. Spoke in a demeaning manner, did not even look at you in the eye, rather looked at the screen. The man working the nightshift was not emoowered to do anything. Staff were unresponsive. Forget about asking for a manager, staff refused to give you her contact. I was asked to email the hotel email with my grieviences and that the manager will respond back. It has been 4 days now and no formal response. Be weary if they respond to this review with an apologetic tone and try to explain their misgivings. I highly recommend to stay far away from this hotel.

My mother and I spent 6 nights at this wonderful boutique property and enjoyed our time there immensely. Attentive and warm staff, pristine and comfortable conditions and a private, quiet respite from the fabulous, bustling neighborhood filled with every convenience and luxury one would desire. We will be back, for certain - and thank the 9Confidential team for their stellar hospitality.
