Serotel Suites Opera

This hotel exceeded my expectations. We had a living room area with a kitchenette, table, and couch, a bedroom, a shower and sink room, and separate toilet room, so plenty of space. It was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great for us. It was about 2 minutes to walk to the metro station and the single line at that station had several stops near tourists spots like the Louvre and Notre Dame. With connections readily available moving throught the city was easy.It was about a 20 minute walk to Sacre Couer. The neighborhood felt safe - a lot of families with kids nearby. A grocery next store and several Boulangeries made getting food and snacks easy. A couple things that would have been better... The hairdryer had an on button that had to be held while drying, and it wasn't a great hairdryer. The lights in the living room were either all on or all off and had no dimming. A light over the TV made watching it challenging. Adding some more light controls would be nice. The sofa bed didn't quite fit together right so wasn't very comfortable (we did not use as a bed so no comment on that aspect.) Overall, this was a good value for our stay in Paris. I would stay here again.

The pluses of this place are the central location and the friendly reception staff. Apart from this, I was quite disappointed. The rooms are small. I was there for a long multi week stay and asked to be moved to a larger room. It took 3 days to get a slightly bigger room but still very small and depressing for a long term stay. My shower tube broke and it took two days to repair — in the meantime I had to shower with a bucket. Some will not like that there is a soup kitchen in the street a few times a week but it didn’t bother me. I think the place could be fine for a few days but it’s definitely not the “apart hotel” experience I expected.

I will book this hotel next time. The bed is super comfortable, you don't want to lie down, and the pillow can choose what you want. Is not breakfast, it is recommended not to book breakfast, buy it yourself, there are many restaurants around, there are many Chinese food, shopping time 10 minutes.
