Hotel le Mahana

The staff was fully engaging, friendly and helpful. The drive from the airport to the property most enjoyable with our driver and with the scenery. The views and walks along the beach are fantastic. Very much enjoyed the dining experience near or on the beach. Our resort bungalow was fully and wonderfully appointed with beach views. We also much appreciated the local masseuse and his professionalism on the front deck of our bungalow. Highly recommend!

The property is located in the most beautiful beach in Huahine,with plenty of kayak and paddle board to use. The restaurant is delicious,fresh seafood and excellent service. All bungalows have beach view It’s my favorite hotel in French Polinesia.

La Mahana is a magnificent resort in a unparalleled location! The restaurant and bar are terrific. The hotel is located on beautiful and remote Avea Bay. Great beach and snorkeling right off the dock and Huahine is a beautiful island. We loved every minute!!!

Very beautiful, high-quality furnished private bungalows located on a dreamy beach with a wonderful lagoon and sea life. The noise from the street behind the bungalows unfortunately starts very early, but this is unavoidable due to the only road on the island

The hotel is at a lovely location, with beautiful beach, lovely views, coral growing around the pontoon, and a few sting-rays swimming around. However, the rooms are very worn out and run down, needing significant care and repair. The floor was constantly dirty, due to bugs from the roof, the woodwork was damaged & breaking apart, there were no mosquito nets, no dressing gown, no toilet brush etc. The double bed was actually just two single beds pulled together, and only joined by parts of the mattress buttoned together, that you cannot therefore sleep comfortably over. The 'garden' attached to the room is nothing much, and the outdoor shower only has a door that can be opened. The power is only put on by using a key into a small unit near the door, but at night when there is no light on, you couldn't easily find the unit and put the key in. Service was poor and slow. They did not like to try to answer any questions that were not their 'normal'. The restaurant also had very slow and indifferent service. Dishes were not as per the menu descriptions, and you are not informed if significant parts of a dish are not available when you order. The 'special' New Year's Eve dinner was a fixed multi-course dinner, but overall the 'event' was not very 'special'. They could have made much more effort for the price that they charged eg with a glass of champagne at the new year. Do not try to arrange any tours in advance, only try to arrange what you may want when you get there. Wifi is not very good, even at the reception or restaurant. The pool is not in a good location, with no view of the sea. However, I think this is still one of the best places to stay on Huahine.

Good location and service. We stayed at the hotel for 12 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff is very accommodating, excellent attention to service. The weather was good in Nov. the hotel provided us with shuttle to from airport. Like I said the service was excellent

Le Mahana is a lovely small inn on a quiet beach that is good for swimming and snorkeling. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. A highlight for us was an evening performance of Polynesian music and dancing in their outdoor restaurant. This was much more joyful and seemingly authentic than the highly produced show that we saw on Bora Bora.
