Boutique Hotel Carpe Diem

We were sad to leave here, which says a lot! Beautiful quaint hotel perfectly located for the historic town of Paraty, literally a 3 minute walk away! Our 2 rooms were in a separate building which shared a quiet, pretty courtyard area. Rooms were clean, spacious, well equipped with comfortable beds. The mini bar items were very reasonably priced. Breakfast was always delicious with a great selection of hot and cold items. We also really enjoyed the afternoon tea and again delicious cakes! Camilli , the manager, spoke excellent English and a positive guest experience was always her priority. The other hotel staff didn’t speak English but nowadays this isn’t a problem with Google translate and everyone was always super friendly! The main public area of the pousada with the pool, chill-out area and restaurant was so pretty and tranquil. It was a shame the pool wasn’t heated - my kids found it a little too cold for swimming but I think this is the norm in Brazil. My only very small negative was that we’d used the laundry service for a lot of items and it wasn’t until afterwards that I’d realised one of the items - brand new for the trip - hadn’t been returned to me (partly my fault for not checking through everything before check out). Camilli did try to arrange for it to be sent to our next destination but it was unfortunately too late. All in all, a super little pousada and I would 100% recommend a stay here.

Eu e meus filhos amamos este passeio. Hotel maravilhoso, estrutura excelente, funcionário prestativos, café da manhã muito gostoso e de brinde tivemos companhia de macaquinhos no café da manhã. Tudo muito limpo e organizado.

The best cost benefit we have found! Excellent location, close to the historical center and the paraty center, with many restaurants around. Room and hostel always very clean. Excellent service for all of the staff of the hostel. Very good beds, spacious room, large box, hot shower and air conditioning frozen the room properly. Breakfast very good, fresh food and with the possibility of ordering at the time. For the price we were looking for, the hostel exceeded the expectations, and when I come back to Paraty, I will certainly come back to the same hostel.
Casa Turquesa - Maison D´Hôtes

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is actually difficult to call it a hotel as the owner and her incredibly warm and attentive staff truly make you feel like you are at home. The hotel is lovely with much attention to detail that we very much noticed and appreciated. We stayed in the White Room which had a wonderful balcony that we spent much time positioned on looking at over the street below. We loved the view so much that we bought a photograph of the church we looked at from the balcony as the perfect memento of a perfect stay. The hotel is in a great location-close to the Marina, walking distance from all the shops and restaurants but in an area that is quiet at night. The breakfast is exquisite highlighted by the pastries and breads that rival any we have eaten around the world. We will go back to Paraty just to stay here again!
Pousada Praia do Jabaquara

The guesthouse is very close to the jabaquara beach, but it is a beach with sand and dark water and very little frequency, which already calls us the alert. The good beaches (Sao Gonçalo, Trindade and Paraty Mirim) are far away and you will need to use the car. The guest rooms are educated and careful, the rooms are clean, the bed and bathrooms are clean, but attention: they are very simple rooms, the showers are bad and they release little water. The breakfast is quite simple, but with fresh food. There is only a swimming pool. Nothing more. I can't comment on it because I didn't use it. The parking is good, wide, but I felt missing the demarcation of the vacancies. As they are not demarcated, there are always those “good drivers” who take a car to take the space of two. Without telling the permission of the hostel to parked cars block the exit of others ( one of the days I stayed 22 minutes waiting for the “health man” to remove your car so that I can get out). The guests have no restaurant or lunch room to serve the guests, and that is a problem for me. If you want to sit in the night, on the pool side, to take a beer, try to buy it in the supermarket. The most worse is the amount of pernilongs in the room, in the bathroom, in the pool area, in the entire hostel. I'm biten of a stick from feet to head, and the hostel doesn't offer you any of those electrical appliances (the dive is the dive), and I had to go out and buy one, if not my wife and I couldn't sleep. In general (and at the most), the hostel is paying for the expense, but it is quite simple and sinful in some points I have mentioned above.
Pousada Recanto do Jabaquara

I booked 2 nights in this place on December 30 and 31 and it costed me $150 the night, where the normal price won’t exceed the $50. I thought the price was in reales but it was in dollars, so I hoped it would be a really nice place due to the price. There was no security box, the wifi was incredibly slow (I had to do some work and couldn’t due it from the room), there were ants over the table, no hair drier, the handle of the door was broken and there was no lamp next to the bed. I emailed the owner and he never responded it. I went to talk to him in person and ask him if he got it but he said he had nothing to say and that the booking was my mistake. I explained all the issues I found with the room and that I was expecting a refund due to them, but he never took responsibility for them and blamed me again for the booking. I was expecting responsibility on the matter. I thought that position was greedy, he knows I didn’t want to book at that price, that it was’t the normal cost of the hotel due to holidays and that I found many issues in the room.
