Holland Lodge Paramaribo

This was our first time in Suriname and we were blown away by our stay at Holland Lodge. 1) The staff was exceptional! Before our arrival, they helped us with an airport transfer (the airport is FAR from the city, spring for the transport!). During our stay they helped us do laundry for a reasonable price, helped us order food when we arrived late, and also helped us book a dolphin cruise last minute. Even more so they went above and beyond. I got a pretty nasty infection the day before we left for the interior and Sherona helped me find a doctor, called her on my behalf, and helped me set up the my appointment- truly incredible service! Then we ordered food a second time and were told by Pizza Hut they would take my visa credit card upon delivery. This was untrue but Lucy at the front desk immediately stepped in, paid him in cash on our behalf and put it on our room bill- absolutely amazing service! 2) This place was CLEAN- like clean clean. The sheets were spotless, the room was white glove clean which we really appreciated. 3) Breakfast- Breakfast was 12USD to add on which seemed steep but it was so nice not to worry about it in the morning and the food was fantastic. We truly appreciated our stay and the staff is truly who blew this place out of the water! Incredible. We hope to visit again!
Courtyard Paramaribo
4.1/553 Reviews
I had a perfectly pleasant stay at this Courtyard. Nice, simple and modern room. Overall better than an average Courtyard in the U.S. The location won't work for everyone though - the hotel is a bit out of town. We had a rental car (from Hertz), so the location wasn't an issue. There's also Avis car rental next to the hotel, but I couldn't price it up through the Avis website so not sure if it's open (if it is, I'd take a taxi form the airport to the hotel and rent a car from there). More generally, we really liked Suriname - super friendly people, we generally felt safe, the food was delicious, prices weren't crazy. All of this in stark contrast to Guyana. It seems that most countries don't need a visa to enter, but you still need to pay the entry fee online. I read multiple reports saying that you can no longer do it on arrival at PBM or ORG airport - this wasn't true as a couple of passengers from my flight were paying the entry fee on arrival at ORG (September 2023). You also need a yellow fever vax certification - this was checked by the airline at check-in. Another hopefully helpful tip - Transguyana Airlines runs 3 flights a day between the small regional airport in Paramaribo (Zorg en Hoop - airport code ORG) and its equivalent in Georgetown (Ogle - airport code OGL). These are super convenient as the main international airport in both Georgetown and Paramaribo is an hour away from the city. Note that these flights were not coming up on Kayak or *******, but were easy to book through the airline's website. FWIW, there was also a flight from PBM to OGL which may be helpful for those arriving at the main airport in Paramaribo and connecting to Georgetown. The flight itself is on a small 12-seater (Cessna Caravan) which is fun on its own. I wish I had more time in Suriname - what a fascinating country!
Torarica Resort

Fantastic hotel with excellent location. Very pleasant, helpful and good staff. Rooms delicious spacious, beds wide and ok. Breakfast, dinner and bar excellent. Hygiene good. Punt for improvement: we had great problems in all rooms( we had 5) it was difficult, if not impossible to turn off the AC. Not everyone wants to sleep in AC! Full beautiful garden up to the Surinam River, with many kinds of birds!
Royal Torarica

Initially, we booked 'Torarica' and not Royal Torarica after consulting with Torarica which would be more suitable. Upon arrival, we went to our room, the size of a broom closet, with an odd smell. We went to ask for another room, but that was not possible. There was zero cooperation from the Toraica Manager. She continuously tried to upsell, instead of trying to find a reasonable solution. I forgot her name, but this was the worst manager I had ever met(and I travel a lot). Royal Torarica and Torarica were the same price, so we suggested to switch hotels since it was the same hotel chain. According to Torarica this was no option. Dissapointed we went to Royal Torrarica and explained everything that was happening to their managerJoyce. She understood immediately how this affected our stay, and told us not to worry. From that point on, she made sure we did not have to worry about a thing. We waited while being taken care of at Royal Torarica. Got some refreshments while we waited, and came back with a perfect solution. We changed hotels immediately and had an amazing stay at Royal Torarica. The staff at Royal Torarica is very friendly, and helpful. At Torarica everyone was sleeping at their desk, and annoyed at every request. Their management style makes such a difference. If you ask me, they should make Joyce head of both hotels! Thank you Joyce for an amazing stay. This review is late, but not less heartfelt. Warm Regards, N. Gogar
Ramada by Wyndham Princess Paramaribo

Breakfast, the restaurant environment is very good, the price is also suitable, there is a swimming pool, the roof can be seen invincible river view, positive! No extra bed available. Located in the city centre, there is a casino downstairs and there are several restaurants and small bars nearby. Hotel prices are also suitable, it is very cost-effective
