The staff were very helpful in having and explaining maps they had of the city and the points of attraction. The spa was awesome with massaging jets around the pool. We didn't get into the pool until after sitting in the sauna. The pool felt really good then. The hotel is located fairly centrally between the river and old town. The river walk was very scenic and we visited the one of the two hot springs that was open. Two of them were closed because the river was running high and flooded them. The old town had a number of tapa bars and restaurants where we enjoyed local favorites. The hotel staff also told us about a place for star gazing which we walked to and enjoyed even though it was a 630 feet climb of 1 mile. We would recommend a visit to this hotel and town anytime.

NH is one of our go-to hotel chains and this particular hotel in Ourense did not disappoint. Eva C at the front desk was particularly helpful to us. I had a lot of questions about getting to the thermal baths and she addressed them all. We were very pleased with the room, which was a good size, and a perfect base for two days. The shower was hot with strong water flow. If management is reading this, I have only two negative comments and one minor quibble: First, the rug outside the elevator on the floor our room was on was extremely stained and dirty. It was a little off-putting, to be honest, and should be addressed. Second, the situation with the clear walls in the bathroom should be further rectified. Putting a window shade on one side does not fully solve the privacy problem, as the door is still fully clear. To this end: readers of this review should note that you should check out whether the room you will be staying in has a clear bathroom wall looking out onto where the bed is. If so, it would not be a comfortable room to stay in with another person unless one is on very intimate, not self-conscious terms with that person. The minor quibble is that it would be nice to have a small bar of soap on the bathroom sink. The liquid soap was in a metal holder that was not mounted close enough to the sink. In fact, the lotion was mounted closer to the sink than the soap! It made hand washing very awkward.

Ourense is a small city packed with beautiful corners and interesting sites. The team at Carris made sure we got in all the local secrets. The rooms are incredibly well appointed and maintained. We originally had a suite which was fantastic but had to move to a regular room. It was an incredible surprise to see such well taken care of spaces. I did miss the balcony in the original room but have to say that the new room was still great in size. Bathroom and shower were also spectacular. Ana at the reception took great care of us as did the rest of the team. Very warm and personalized service. For sure a much better option than the chain hotels around downtown.

The hotel is very good located. Room is wide and modern. It has a free parking, but it is also easy to park nearby.

Acabamos de volver, hemos hecho el viaje con la comunidad de Madrid y yo iba encantada porque íbamos a un Hotel cuatro estrellas, en cuanto que entré y vi el tirón de escaleras, la recepción y ni un solo modo de llegar a la planta de los ascensores si uno va en silla de ruedas ya vi que estaban bailando las estrellas. El personal la verdad es que encantador exceptuando a una señora más mayor, que creo que es la encargada de hostelería en la zona de desayunos y cenas que debe de estar bastante acostumbrada a gritar a todo el mundo y también grita al hospedaje de muy malas maneras y con muy mala educación, el resto encantadores y buenas profesionales. Cuando llegamos a la habitación en nuestro caso la 407 pasamos de repente al siglo pasado, nos encontramos una habitación con moqueta sucia, un baño igualmente sucio, una de las mesillas que abrió mi marido , había sido utilizada de cenicero y seguían los restos de tabaco allí. Aunque sorprendentemente hemos descansado bien, exceptuando lógicamente que está en el centro de la ciudad y hay muchísimo ruido pero si se cierran las ventanas se puede dormir. Destacar el baño debe de haberse construido en 1970 con una grandiosa jacuzzi en la que hay que saltar a pértiga para meterse y poderse duchar, a destacar el escalón que hay en el baño y un sinfín de detalles del siglo pasado. No dudo que este Hotel tuviera cuatro estrellas pero hace muchos muchos muchos años. No entiendo que no haya inspecciones para actualizar las estrellas de estos hoteles deprimentes, la situaciones excelente, el desayuno mediocre y la cena también mediocre. Si estás acostumbrado a cuatro estrellas, no se te ocurra pasar por allí. Imagino que me contestarán que el Hotel está en reforma y que han empezado por las plantas superiores pero señores si esto son cuatro estrellas y lo están reformando pongan solamente al público en las habitaciones adecuadas, en la web también ponen que tienen minibar es mentira, lo han arrancado y se lo han llevado. Lo único nuevo que había allí y estaba bien era una televisión
