Close to the aquarium, herring house, herring palace & light house, it’s a magical spot. There is a free shuttle to Otaru station. The view is incredible, the staff are really helpful and welcoming. The onset facilities are very restorative. There is free parking.

Hotel with a great view but slightly further away from town. Slightly dated.

The hotel building looks aged from the outside and has old-style furnishing but our stay is still comfortable and enjoyable . The room comes with 2 super single beds combined into a super king bed which is super large! The open-air onsen tub faces the Sea of Japan is very private and  has great sunset view.

Facilities: The hotel is quite old, and while the facilities are in good condition, they aren't exactly modern. Surprisingly, there's a vintage audio system that plays music with a great ambiance from a bygone era. The sound quality also has that classic feel, which I loved. It's definitely worth experiencing this unique charm that other hotels don't offer. Service: Standard hotel service, but they upgraded my room without me even asking, which was a nice touch! Transportation: Even though the hotel is on a mountaintop, they offer a shuttle service to the nearest JR station, which is a huge plus. The Otaru Aquarium is just a few steps away, and the dolphin show is fantastic, plus the penguins are adorable. Scenery: This hotel probably boasts the most unique coastal cliff views in Otaru. It's truly postcard-worthy, and the best part is being able to enjoy it while soaking in the hot spring during the day. The scenery is beautiful and enjoyable. At night, however, you can't see anything. Hygiene: Standard hotel cleanliness. Food: I only stayed overnight and didn't try the food.

The hotel is a bit old, but the experience was great. The front desk staff used a translation device, which made communication smooth. Every room has a hot spring bath, and the toiletries provided are very comprehensive. My only complaint is that there were some strange noises at night, which was a little unsettling. The French restaurant was decent, and the service there was excellent.

The private bath in the room is definitely the highlight of the room. Plus the front desk even offered to change our room with a better view of the sea! Love it!

Perfect place to stay one or two nights! The location is a bit far but easy to find.

The hotel's view is unbeatable, perched on a cliff with hot springs overlooking the ocean – it was incredibly relaxing! The only minor drawback is that the hotel feels a bit dated and looks a little old. Everything else was great; both breakfast and dinner were delicious!

Staff was welcoming; it is a charming, slightly dated hotel. View was amazing, we had the ocean view with the private onsen bath. Location was abit troublesome however, past the otaru aquarium and up the steep hill. Have a car and you are good to go. (Or i believe there is also a shuttle?) Only oddities were the lack of charging points in the room (perhaps upgrade to usb sockets near the bed) & the need to return the key to the desk everytime you leave the hotel. we liked staying here overall!

It's an interesting experience as the hotel is situated at the outskirts. The onsen in the room is perfect, with a perfect seat view. Room is pretty old school and big. As the location is pretty remote, there isn't much night activity around. It is pretty kind of the hotel to offer shuttle service to Otaru JR.

Hotel was a little old but well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location is a bit off / inconvenient if you dont drive. Hotel is old. Room temperature is hard to control. Need to pay extra charges to have room cleaned. However, we do have a very good view of the ocean, which make up for some of the shortcomings.

Ocean view is great, service was good too, but remember not to wear hotel slippers for breakfast hah

Perfect. Dinner was delicious, the private bath was incredible. Stereo in the room, awesome view, just a bit far from Otaru, definitely recommend.
