Hotel Garni Snaltnerhof

This is a nice hotel in the center of town. Unfortunately we had rooms #6 and #9 which are extremely small compared to other rooms. The location of this hotel in the center of town and in walking distance to both lifts was the best part of staying here.

We stayed here in early September for 4 nights and our experience was definitely mixed at best. Several issues in my view. First is that they don't have any full time staff at the hotel. Front desk is only manned from 8-5 pm and after that you have to call a cell number for someone that is on call. Lots of steps (lots) and no one there to really help. Not for anyone with back, knee issues. Location is pretty good being in the center of town (that's really the only positive thing). Rooms are good but not overly plush -- very functional. I think in US terms, this is like a Motel 6 or Super 8 (except they have full time staff). We paid over $400 per night which was outrageous. So, we expected some 5 star service and amenities --- it was more like 2-3 star. Wouldn't recommend it especially for anyone over 60.

Lovely attic room looking out onto square. Excellent location. Friendly receptionist. Importantly - clean room with beautiful bathroom. Cleaned daily, with clean towels etc. Basic continental breakfast from 7.30. Fruit, breads, Yogurts, scrambled eggs, cereals, ham/ cheese and croissants. Establishment perfect base for hikers in Orisei. Stayed in July 2025.
