I'm so glad that hostel is open again. Unfortunately only the reception area was renovated. The breakfast room still has no windows and the bedroom got really hot. Hostel is located very close to the lake but behind the train tracks so it can get loud in the room. We booked a double room but got a room for 4 with 2 bunk beds. It was okay for us but would have not been nice if travelling as a couple. it can be noisy at night also from the hallways. Room was ok clean but there were lots of stains on the floor that would've been very easy to clean. Price was very high for a hostel but that's maybe due to the Jazz Festival. Good to know: This hostel doesn't have a shared kitchen for its guests.

Very distinctive ancient building, the garden is decorated with flowers and crawls around. Sitting in the middle of the mountain, sitting on the terrace overlooking Lake Geneva, the mood is very comfortable. The strong sense of history furniture and interiors bring us different surprises. The hotel distributes a paper, you can take the bus to the commercial street by the lake for free, you can walk to Xiyong Castle or you can get a discount. Chinese translation and explanation are available.

We booked this suite direct after contacting the hotel asking for room rates & availability. They suggested the suite would suit our family group (myself, partner & 2 girls in their 20s). They were right. The suite had a large room with king size bed, sofa / lounge area with TV & balcony with a fabulous view of the mountains. Another large room with 2 single beds & TV was great for the girls & we shared a well appointed bathroom with bath & shower. We were together but had plenty of space. Everything was tastefully decorated & super comfortable. We opted for breakfast at the reduced ‘book ahead’ rate which was good value, but would have been perfect with a hot option of bacon and / or sausage. The hotel is very conveniently located opposite the cog railway to the ski slopes. It had a good heated ski / boot room & free parking right outside the hotel. Staff are friendly & attentive. We booked reduced rate tickets to the Villars Spa which was lovely & a short walk away. The hotel provided towels. We enjoyed a meal in the hotel on one evening which was lovely & reasonable value with the included side dishes. Hotel & restaurant highly recommended & would definitely book again.

The hotel is at the thermal center. It is thus far away of every big city especially by public transport as I have to take the infrequent bus. Room I was disappointed for an expensive hotel it was very small. There is no more place in the fridge because of all what they want to sell to drink or eat. The thermal center is good, the food is good and the hotel interior is beautiful. Overall it is overpriced even at the lowest price I think it wasn't worth it and I am a big fan of thermal station. The price fluctuate a lot try to get it on the cheap.

This is one of 3 Hotel selected by our Friend. Honestly. This was the most cost effective, our stay in Gstaad was for several days only It is true to name it’s sake, it truly is “A place in heaven” We were picked up ( free of charge) at the train station ( public transportation is so convenient, reasonably price, easy to maneuver, and you can’t beat the VIEWS )by Tim Matti( one of the owners) Short ride to Hotel. The Hotel is impeccable, very friendly accommodating staff, there’s a restaurant on premises( they provide room service). Menu is varied, typical of European fanfare, we loved the variety of crepes, Pizza delicious ( blia, all local fresh ingredients) Our room had two closets, a very small keyed safe. Queen size Comfy bed, shower( no tub),blow dryer. There’s a pool, a spa( reservations are required) They provide Bikes, there’s a play ground for children It is very convenient to everything Gstaad has to offer

The hotel is nice, and the staff at reception welcoming. The room (a ”mountain-inspired Junior Suite”) was large and nice, although the view was mostly on a path were several walkers would regularly stop a few meters away from our window. The pool and sauna/steam bath are also large, modern and well decorated. On the negative side, impossible to book a treatment at the spa, it was fully booked - fortunately, we found slots at a nearby hotel. The shower cabin in our room has not been cleaned at all during our stay. And at breakfast, we were told every day that the tables next to the window were occupied, but nobody sat there during the hour or so when we had breakfast. Sad that these few regular issues lower the overall rating of the hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-May 2023. The hotel is just a five to seven minute walk from the Saanan Train Station and one station before Gstaad, if you come from Geneva, as we did. We reached around 9 pm in the evening and were allotted room 21, which is the room with the balcony on the 2nd floor; ( you will notice from the hotel photo), is perhaps one of the best rooms, being a corner room with balcony and lovely views. The dinner was just a vegan burger and a salad. Adequate. The bedrooms were entirely timbered, comfortable with sufficient storage and in-room heating from a radiator, placed under the front window. Toilet was a bit small and no bathroom slippers were provided. We requested but was told as it was a 3 star property, hence they did not provide it. Breakfast was the usual continental, with the hot items being only boiled eggs and choice of coffee/tea. Rest was cold meat, fruit, cereals, cheese and bread. Not the best which we have had, but acceptable. A few more hot choices especially in the eggs choice or sausages would have helped. There was only 1 lady who was looking after the breakfast area, the restaurant and the reception. Perhaps, because of low occupancy. However, what I wish to compliment the hotel staff about, was their help and co-operation in forwarding some clothes which we had mistakenly left behind. We connected with the hotel the very evening after we left and they confirmed that they had them. Their cost was not much but they had an emotional connect with us. We asked them to keep them with them till we could decide the way forward. As luck would have it, some family members are visiting Switzerland at the time of writing this review (in early July 2023) and staying for a few days in Bern. The staff, on our request, packed and sent the stuff to the Bern hotel after coordinating with the Bern hotel, on phone. They never asked us for any payment though we were willing to pay for it. This is outstanding customer service.
