Esmeralda Resort

Another great trip to Esmeralda. Huge thanks to Audrey and the staff for securing our reservation even though we arrived 4 days later than planned due to airport closure in Buffalo. Nice surprise was the donkeys that roam the island freely due to a local farm owner who passed away and no one available to take care of them. Super friendly, we bought carrots and apples from the local store to feed them. Great resort, great trip. Will be back.

We loved the unit, the grounds and the individual pools. The front porch/veranda was awesome. Breakfast was lovely and we were close enough to the beach and the village. What a great stay. Thanks for a real get away. We needed a relaxing trip and the Esmeralda was just the spot

Although slightly up a hill from the beach, the walk is short and this is a nice hotel. I is laid out with quite a few buildings spread out on the property. Each building has 3-4 separate units (which can be combined) and a private pool for each property. Breakfast is provided in the restaurant area which also serves a great dinner. Free chairs and umbrellas are provided at four of the places on the beach (KKO is the closest and it was very nice). You can charge drinks and meals from those places to your room. The staff was very efficient, friendly and helpful.

We all enjoyed our stay very much. We rented a 2 bedroom 2ba suite and another adjoining room with bathroom, great space for our family if 4 to all spread out and have privacy. Nice small kitchen facilities, and small pool outside was relaxing but not for laps, FYI. Great location near many good restaurants in Orient Bay, short walk to beach, convenient restaurants within resort and at beach. Small breakfast buffet was included and satisfying, additional options available for added fee. Service very friendly.

Location is the best feature to Esmeralda! We were able to reach the beach in a few steps as well as close walk to Orient Village. The room was spacious with a large king-sized bed and we overlooked a fantastic pool. The continental breakfast was a perfect to start each morning too! We will return!!!

Wonderful vacation experience at this resort! We have visited this resort over the past 20 years - every year except after the hurricane and during the pandemic. It is charming, the staff very helpful, and located right on Orient Beach. Can't wait to go back next year!

All of the staff at Hôtel Esmeralda were friendly, helpful, and kind. The location is simple to access with a car and an easy 10-minute walk to Orient beach. Our room was clean and well maintained. Having a pool for each group of rooms was convenient for lounging off the beach (it was windy during our stay), and it was a great way to quickly cool off. The hotel grounds and walkways are kept nicely. Know that you may encounter some of the islands four-legged residents during your stay. However, they all seem to be friendly and stayed away from our room. The continental breakfast was very good. The rest of the food at the hotel restaurant was excellent as well. There are also a lot of other good restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and will definitely return.

Beautiful area with great restaurants and water sports. Easy drive to other beaches and towns. Beds were a little too hard and pillows a little thin for our liking. Our own pool shared with just 4 units is nice. Great to be able to walk down the beach and use the many loungers and umbrellas at the various restaurants. Lunches were awesome.

My spouse and I stayed at Esmeralda Resort and it was a very satisfying experience! The place was clean and the room was very spacious! It's just a few minutes away from the ocean front/beach area and that in itself is a plus for us. We liked the idea of having our accommodation at a place that is gated and secured, and that gives us peace of mind that our belongings left inside the room was safe. Also, the garden view just right outside of our door and windows, was very refreshing! It felt like another vacation place apart from the amazing Orient Beach, where we stayed all day long! The staff was friendly and courteous, and was very helpful. The only thing that was a downside for us was the use of the pool within our villa. There are two or three others rooms whom we share a common swimming pool with. My spouse is an avid swimmer and would like the idea of dipping or taking a few laps in our pool but he can't. This was due to the fact that the other guests who were staying in the middle unit/room had their curtains and doors open all the time as if trying to say that the pool was theirs alone. My spouse tried only once to swim in the pool during the day all throughout the duration of our vacation but the guests in that particular room whose room is directly in front of the pool, kept their curtains and doors open, and didn't even look happy when they saw my spouse using the pool. My spouse felt uneasy and wouldn't want those guests to think that he was looking at them. it was an awkward situation. We just hope that Esmeralda Resort would make it clear to future guests especially those staying in that middle room with a pool view (or others as well who share a common pool), that the pool is for all guests in that villa and not just for their exclusive use. I know that this is a matter of interpretation, but it would be better to make it very clear to all guests coming that a pool within a villa (or group of rooms), is for all guests staying in that area to enjoy. It would also be better if our room was equipped with even a single induction stove top so we can cook food. We did have a microwave but a stove top (and pertinent utensils) will be an added amenity! Other than the above, we had an amazing stay at Esmeralda Resort! We highly recommend this place while staying on the French side of Saint Martin!
