Heritage Hotel Imperial - Liburnia

I'm very gratefull that I could spend romantic weekend with my husband in Heritage Hotel Imperial because everything was so perfect and we really manage to get away from busy daily life and just relax and enjoy! Staff: everyone was very polite, but not in a way that they were pretending but they are all trully nice people. They care that everything is perfectly arranged, so that guests can relax and enjoy without worries. Room and bathroom: clean, big, cozy, great mattress and many pillows. Food: nobody can stay hungry in this hotel! Big selection of tasty continental and meditteranean dishes. Spa: thank You Katarina for Your kindness and thank You Tomislav for best massages ever! Great space with whirpools, saunas and large area to relax. Parking is behind the hotel, Lungomare promenade starts one minute from the hotel, everything is in walking distance, stores, pharmacy etc. Also Imperial caffee in front of the hotel has beautiful terrace and great coffee and cocktails. Hope we'll come back again!

This was my first stay in hotel Imperial for non-business purposes, and overall I can say we were indeed very satisfied, and would gladly come again. This is indeed an old hotel, so it has it charm of former times, but was (recently) throughout refurbished and its up to the modern standards. It’s essentially a modern hotel in an old skin. Not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea, but we liked it. Location doesn’t get any more central, which as a result means you will hear some street noise, but that’s is to be expected. Service was just outstanding, everyone was very polite and more then helpful. Up to a level that after a few days you feel almost as at home. Breakfast is perfect, nothing more can be desired. Dinner is ok (we had a half board), it’s not a Michelin star quality, and there is some room for improvement, but there is a lot of variety and is certainly a good value for the money. Would take it again. Parking is a bit of a hassle as location is central, and cost extra 25Euro per day, which is the same as the costs of parking on Opatija public grounds, but just plan this and call hotel in advance. To sum up, this a great hotel in centaur of Opatija, and we are planning to come again, primarily because of excellent personal that makes us feel like home.

Hotel has a great location for walking to the Promenade and shopping area. The buffet breakfast and dinner was fantastic - great variety of fine tasting foods.

We had an amazing stay at the Imperial Hotel in Opatija last month. The room was large, luxurious, and comfortable, and the staff was especially welcoming. We particularly loved Arnel, who was one of our wonderful waiters during the buffet breakfasts and dinners (where the food was amazing, by the way). Arnel was incredibly kind and considerate about our every need, and was very attentive to detail. He was clearly a very hard worker, and we saw how he worked well under pressure and even with a large number of guests in the dining room. He never forgot an order and was very prompt in everything he did. Definitely a trip we will never forget!

Very friendly staff. Large rooms with ultra-high ceiling. The hotel was built in 19th century. Overall excellent service. The only problem were mosquitos that made it impossible to sleep during nighttime.

I didn't get to stay very long, but the hotel was really lovely. The room was spacious and clean and the rest of the hotel was very grand. The staff was super helpful during check-in and directed me to better parking options upon arrival. Wish I had more time but had a great experience!

Hi Folks. I just had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel for 7 nights on a work trip. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Don’t let the shabby public areas fool you as the room I had was newly renovated and very comfortable to spend a week in. The building itself is a lovely heritage building and one of the nicest in Opatija. I was lucky enough to have a superior seaside room on the second floor. The room was spacious and well appointed with a comfortable bed. The bathroom while a little on the small side, was also well appointed with fantastic bath amenities provided. I had a little bar fridge which enabled me to keep some drinks and milk cold throughout my stay. The room was kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff. I had a couple of batches of laundry done and the lady who brought it back to my room was keen to hang everything for me and to lay everything else out on the bed. This was a lovely touch. I had a little terrace with a table and chairs and managed to find a little time here and there to sit and admire the beautiful view. I expext that rooms on the higher floors would have an even better view. The only criticism I have of the room is the outward swinging entrance door. This meant there were no extra locks and it left me feeling a little unsecure and perhaps, insecure as a result. I'm used to being able to double or perhaps even tiple lock a hotel room door. In this case there was only the wobbly main door handle to keep the door locked. The biggest highlight for me each morning was the spectacular breakfast buffet. Truly, one of the best I’ve seen anywhere. They even had sparkling wine you could help yourself to and also two types of vodka to make your own Bloody Mary if you chose to. Amazing. The quality and variety of the food was phenomenal and easily one of the biggest breakfast buffets I've experienced. Breakfast was really something to look forward to and was a visual feast each day as it was so beautifully presented. The buffets in the evening were no less spectacular also with amazing variety and quality. You can easily see the effort that’s put into these buffets. The catering staff are to be congratulated. The hotel also has a terrace garden/bar out the front and we made use of this in the evening to have a cocktail after a hard day’s work. The hotel's location is excellent and is right in the middle of town with ample shops and restuarants in the surrounding area. Another highlight for me was being able to walk across the street and swim in the Adriatic. All in all I’d happily recommend this hotel and look forward to an opportunity to stay here again.

Highly recommend. Beautiful hotel in the heart of the *****. Staff, food and rooms are impeccable. We will be coming back!

It was our third stay in this hotel in the last three years, I believe that fact speaks for itself. Great breakfast and superb dinner. Huge rooms and great service. The spa was also nice. It is pretty much 5 stars hotel if you ask me. The only problem is the parking which is expensive but that is the situation in Opatija unfortunately. Imperial Cafe is beautiful, one of the most beautiful cafes I have ever visited.
