Fantastic hotel. Location is in a beautiful forest, with views of the snowcapped alps. 10min driving to restaurants or mountain viewpoints, trailheads. Staff is flawless, amenities over the top (swimming pool, onsen, gym, etc), good breakfast too. The best value for money we got during 1 month staying in Japan.

Breakfast was superb. Good variety. Free coffee provided at lobby which soothes the crave for travellers dying for one as it is difficult to get one. Location is great as it’s just 2 mins walk to bus and train station. Only 5 mins walk to supermarket and duty free shop.

　We returned from Kurobe Dam in another world to Ogizawa Station and headed for our accommodation on the day, ”Kai Alps”. When you enter from the entrance you have seen several times in pamphlets and guidebooks, it is a parking lot immediately. In the back, there was a building with a public space like a ganki, and in the back was a lodging building and a hot spring. The room had a nice loft, but personally I thought it would be better to have a feeling of openness without a loft. The customer service, the meal, and the hot springs were like Hoshino Resorts, and it was definitely a wonderful hot spring inn, including the cozyness. Among them, my favorite spot is the room with a hearth. I left the room and went into this building with public space. I was able to get a oyaki, and I heard that sake was served near dinner, and I disturbed you again. I enjoyed talking to the elderly person in charge, and after having a lot of aperitif, I went to the dinner venue.

Nice place for one night stay before going the alpen route, close to the nearest convenient store from the station(i.e. the closest one is 10min away from station XD) the staff is very nice, has warm water in toilet and washing area. The room has a kettle of hot water, tower, tooth brush set, and anything you need for a night, surprised that the kettle is still keeping the water hot drinking water after a whole night and I don't need to get the water again in the morning. sorry that the photo was taken in late night and may look a bit dark, it's better than it looks
