Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve
4.3/529 Reviews
Visited in May 2022 and September 2019, although this isn’t a recent review, after having a not so great holiday in Tenerife this year, this has made me appreciate how fantastic Pine Cliffs really is. We will absolutely be back. We stayed in the Ocean Suites both times, the facilities are excellent, the cleaners so thorough, staff always very helpful on reception, the spa is such a treat to visit (treatments are on the expensive side though). The kids club is amazing, with the Pirate ship and playground. We visited on my Mum’s 70th birthday and went for lunch at Mare on the beach, the staff sang Happy Birthday in Portuguese which was so lovely. In terms of the rooms, we couldn’t fault anything, the beds are very comfortable, rooms are quiet. The pools are a little cold, especially the one by Ocean Suites, but that’s good if it’s hot. The breakfast gets very busy and the staff are great, but if you’re in Ocean Suites you have the chance to bring your own food or visit the other cafe available. Steak restaurant by the front is great, as is the resultant on the terrace by the pools. Cannot wait to visit again, thank you Pine Cliffs.

Super holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!

After reading all the bad reviews I honestly thought it was going to be bad but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there, staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean and tidy. It was walking distance to the town and the beach if you turn right when you come out the hotel. If you turn left there’s a shop where you can buy food etc. the shower was amazing with good water pressure. I would’ve liked a rail to hold on to but that’s my preference but wouldn’t mark it down because of it. There was all the items in the kitchen to cook if you wanted to and a restaurant downstairs if you didn’t. The food wasn’t the best but it was edible. If you’re fussy I would say to walk to the town or jump in a tuck tuck because bars and restaurants are in abundance. There is the tour bus you can hop on. We didn’t use it ourselves but heard good reviews. We only went for a long weekend away but should definitely stay here again.

I really rely on reviews to book my holiday so il be as detailed as possible. -Immaculate hotel (the cleanest I have ever been too) the staff work incredibly hard keeping every single bit of this hotel clean. -Arrived at 11am and got our room at 12 which was not expected but we were very grateful. -Room lovely and spacious ideal apartment with space for luggage etc in hallway fridge and microwave very handy -Family orientated hotel as previous review states I personally wouldn’t come as a couple, this is our first holiday with our 18month old and it was ideal for us but previously we very much preferred adults only hotels as a couple -pool towels can be changed daily at reception and unlimited bottles of water from reception brilliant touch saves lugging bottles of water from shop -Food was good, I’m fussy but always found something to eat. Fresh good quality and generally just what most all inclusives are like. Pool bar stocked 12-6 with chips hotdogs toasties etc -Boxes in each block with leftovers previous guests have left are a brilliant idea, we borrowed a couple of toys for our daughter and left them again when we left along with inflatable seat bucket and spade etc. ideal! -Pool was cold but ok once you are in, the outside temp is low 20s so was to be expected -Air con in room works great -Kids disco good but only 20 mins long. Can’t comment on evening entertainment as we went to take wee one to bed but from what I heard from room sounded good. -we walked the 10 min walk to the beach daily with a pram so not sure why others say it’s not possible A couple of minor negatives and tips - our room was the ground floor and we paid extra for a pool view but our balcony (like many others) was completely covered by trees so always in the shade, there was 8 steps down to our door so each time we left the room we had to lift the stroller up and down them (if you have a pram request an accessible room) -the noise from upstairs room was pretty loud try request top floor -the door lock on the room unlocks and when the handle is pulled, dangerous for toddlers they really need fitted with a chain All in all a very very nice hotel with a high standard of cleanliness and I would highly recommend to stay here :)
Alfagar Village
4.3/557 Reviews
The Alfagar village exceeded our expectations. The gardens are beautiful. The pool areas are spotless with an army of cleaners early every morning. The children’s pool with water slides was perfect for our 4 year old granddaughter. There are quieter areas too. We especially liked the Cafeteria to enjoy a sangria (or two) after the more hectic children’s pool. Yes the water is cold, but this is not unusual in resorts. We found the staff in all areas to be pleasant and helpful. The one bed apartments were more spacious than expected, with lovely garden views and sea glimpses. The half board option suited our family. Very varied choice at breakfast and dinner to suit all ages. Staff very attentive. A very enjoyable 5 day stay.
Pine Cliffs Residence, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve

An excellent two weeks with the family at Pine Cliffs. Stayed in a 2 bedroom garden suite which had two bathrooms, nice balcony and good kitchen facilities. Garden suites have a nice pool near by but are also close enough to main hotel areas. Preferred to go to the larger pool next to the O’Grill restaurant for easy lunch access! Resort has lovely restaurants, something for everyone, but only a short walk out of the resort takes you to another 10 or so restaurants - Indian, tapas, Italian, burgers etc if you fancy a change or want to save some money! Plus there is a supermarket right opposite the main entrance. The sandy Beach stretches for miles and you have free access to sun beds via a lift or stairs from the resort where you can also book kayaks, jet skis, etc. Mare beach restaurant a real treat for either lunch or dinner. We arrived at midday and room not ready until 16:00 which was a very slight inconvenience - but next time will be better organised so we can get some shorts etc from the luggage to get straight into holiday mode. Key for me: high standards of facilities, lovely service, number of pools/ restaurants, close access to beach, but also easy access to restaurants outside the resort. I also liked how big the resort was - took a few days to get our bearings and find the short cuts!
