I will share two highlights of this hotel that make it better than most BW properties. #1. The staff makes this place shine. It’s really the little things that can make a stay “ok” to “that was a good spot”. David at the front desk when I checked in really took the time to help me and was a genuine affable and very helpful person. #2. The breakfast set-up. I stay at a lot of Best Westerns and I can say this one really has their Breakfast working well. They are organized, they never run out of anything, and the environment is clean and organized for you to enjoy your breakfast and relax. Besides that, the rooms are clean and updated so I wanted to make sure I gave this Best Western a shout out as they are doing things right!

First, the staff at this hotel is amazing. They genuinely care about their patrons. So, I am a little disheartened about my family's recent stay. To begin, you really need to replace the mattresses. They are the most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever slept on. It was truly like sleeping on the floor. Next, the hotel is so loud! I don't understand how so many guests can be that inconsiderate. There were little children running up and down the halls at all hours. We had to check out a day early because we were so sleep-deprived. Again, the location and staff are amazing, but this was the most uncomfortable stay.

After staying at the ESA San Diego-Hotel Circle, we only look for ESA to stay at on our trips. My husband works all over California, but mainly in the San Diego area so we are on the road almost more than at home. And since we never know how long the job will last until the next one, we usually bring a lot of stuff with us. Since finding ESA, we no longer have to bring our own electric skillet and pots and pans, which saves us a lot of space. I love the kitchen and the full size fridge. And I think it's a requirement that the ladies and gents that work the desk are friendly and helpful because they've all gone out of their way to make sure we have what we need. Our room this trip faces the golf course. Cool, you may say but not so much. First there are bushes blocking the actual view PLUS, did you know they mow golf courses every other day, at 5:30 in the morning? Yes they do. But that aside, everything is as expected. Clean room, nice guests, and a clean bbq area complete with umbrella's. The staff is able to answer all my questions, get me whatever I need, and help anyway possible. The king bed was soft (a little bit too soft for my back however). My only complaint about this ESA is the TV has no guide on it and some of the stations flicker. BUT, the remote has a sleep timer on it which is great for me because I can't go to sleep without some type of noise or sound (other than snoring from my husband). I highly recommend this ESA or any ESA wherever you are going. They will bend over backwards to help you if they can. Oh and another great thing about this ESA is there are a lot of stores just minutes away. My son and I walked to the grocery store, that's how close they are. I'm very thankful for Extended Stay America and I know you will be too if you choose to stay here.

This hotel is definitely the king of cost-effective hotels in the United States. First of all, the hotel is very new and the rooms are large. The hotel is kept clean and friendly. The resort in San Diego where I lived before was really housekeep. The resort fee can be exchanged for coupons that can be used in restaurants in the hotel. This hotel is especially suitable for bringing children. It is walking distance to Legoland. There is a sea of ​​flowers next to it that is very suitable for taking pictures. The hotel has a parent-child swimming pool and entertainment facilities, and the hotel also has various parent-child activities. The entire hotel area is also very large, and the view of the swimming pool behind the hotel lobby is absolutely amazing. Booked a two night stay here when I was in the San Diego area for work. While the property is aging, I can see that they try to maintain its upkeep pretty well. Unfortunately, there were some issues of concern that made the experience less than amazing. I wasn't expecting an Intercontinental (I've stayed at two ICs this past year) - but being that it is part of the IHG, I was expecting at least decent service. Pros: * The IHG website/app were having issues due to the hack. I finally was able to book a reservation, but called the morning of to confirm. Todd was friendly and efficient, was able to confirm my reservation (booked directly through the hotel), view preferences and noted my late checkout request. * Lili was the front desk agent when I checked in. She was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. She also was able to notate my late checkout request for 2pm. * I reached out to Lili shortly after checking into my room and noticed what looked like pet hairs (see attached photos) in a corner of the room. She expressed genuine concern after I showed her the photos, and had Yolanda stop by with a vacuum cleaner. * Centrally located to groceries and restaurants (walking distance to Trader Joe's!). * Courtyard view rooms have better noise insulation from the road - a good thing considering that the hotel property fronts a major roadway (Palomar Airport Road). * Rooms have a mini-fridge, which is helpful since most hotels don't offer one. * The hotel's on-site restaurant, Stratus - was open everyday for breakfast/dinner - their buttermilk pancakes are great. Cons: * The pet hair situation led me to wonder what other shortcuts was taken (or not taken) in turning over the room. If you look at the photos, this wasn't a stray pet hair here and there - the amount of hair should've been noticeable if the turnover was just a bit more thorough. * The wireless internet kept cutting out throughout the stay. I'm not sure where the router is, but perhaps the hotel can consider adding a few wireless access points throughout the property, since the signal kept getting dropped. * The walls are thin. I was next to a guy that played his TV on at full blast - it sounded like a concert every night. I could hear vividly his phone conversations (colorful language) too. * Late checkout was inconsistent. Todd noted my request initially over the phone - he said he would be able to offer 1:30pm. Lili upon checkin, confirmed it for 2pm. My card stopped working at 12:30pm when I left to move some of my belongings to my car. I waited behind 3 other guests before I was able to be helped and Veronica asked if I was still checking out at 1pm. I mentioned the later time that Lili offered and even pointed out that had my card still worked, I wouldn't have lost 30 minutes waiting in line and probably would've been able to check out by 1pm. * When I finally managed to get back into my room to remove the rest of my stuff, I went back down to the front desk.
