Budget Inn-Norfolk, VA - Oceanview

Worst stay I ever had at any place. Holes on the walls. Wouldn't recommend.

The photos was nothing like I experienced. The room and bathroom were filthy. It smelled like smoke EVERYWHERE and my husband found a .22 bullet casing on the 2nf floor.

This "hotel" was deceptively advertised, all of the pictures used were fake, most of the positive reviews are fake as well. This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. My room was a smoking room which smelled awful despite the listing saying it was non-smoking (which apparently rings true for all their rooms based on other reviews), there were people yelling all night outside, the bed was an extremely uncomfortable spring mattress like in a hide-a-bed couch, the room was dirty, the TV didn't work, the list goes on. This place isn't safe, if you're looking to stay here I highly, highly recommend staying literally anywhere else. We left the minute we woke up and booked another hotel for our second night as we could not stay there.

Staff was quick to fix any issues. Great location. Rooms have had some updates but outside needs some work.

Boarded up window, doors that let a lot of light in. Didn't feel safe. Sketchy area (elevator only went up, you had to walk down flights of stairs that didn't bring you to the lobby (brought you outside) access to rooms easy to the outside area. I stayed long enough to see the room & walked back down. Told the clerk the accommodations were not acceptable or safe. I took a uber to a nicer hotel that was safe.

Room had roaches and staff did not care. I immediately checked out and found a nearby hotel to stay.

Clean room, convenient parking, friendly staff. The television was the only decoration. This is a barebones motel. I just needed a place to sleep, so it was perfect.

Staff was helpful and responsive. Property needs a major refurb. Location is great, right off the highway and across the street from the fishing pier. WiFi was fast.

Do not rely on the reviews that are good on ******* to book. There are several excellent reviews which I am suspicious of and voiced my concern to ******* because this place was bad. Not only did they charge me more than was disclosed when I booked but my non smoking room smelled of smoke, tv did not work, and I am sure what was in the tub, I didn’t want to look too closely. I could go on but you get the idea. Do not stay here!
