Nicely located, not far from the center by walk ! A lovely room with view on the garden below. Really nice diner and breakfast set also. Free shuttle bus for Noboribetsu station. Very convenient...only negative point: breakfast too early..XD otherwise, everything was great ! 👍

When planning my first trip to Sapporo, I really wanted to include a hot spring experience. Naturally, Noboribetsu came to mind for hot springs, and that's how I found Hanaya while looking for a ryokan in the area. I'd seen reviews mentioning its location at the entrance of Noboribetsu made it a bit far, which wasn't an issue for us since we had a rental car. However, upon arrival, I realized it's not that far at all, and it's perfectly walkable unless it's extremely cold and snowy. The hot springs are separated for men and women, and the bath locations switch daily. Each gender's bath area has one indoor and one outdoor bath. Since the ryokan itself is small, if you time it right, you can often have the place to yourself. Maybe you'll encounter just one or two other guests? It's a genuine sulfur hot spring; remember to shower briefly before entering and keep towels and hair out of the water. You can't talk about a ryokan without mentioning kaiseki! We booked a stay for four people including dinner and breakfast, and dinner was kaiseki. It was served course by course, looked absolutely beautiful, and I found it incredibly delicious. For the price point, I was thoroughly satisfied. In the lobby, there are complimentary drinks available, including sake and beer, which you can enjoy as much as you like. Even though it's a small ryokan, they upgraded our room, and the staff were legendary for their kindness. It was a truly satisfying ryokan experience. I hope to visit again if I get the chance.

My partner and I stayed for just one night because it was fully booked the next day, and we absolutely loved it! We booked both breakfast and dinner, and everything was perfect! Plus, in the lobby, you have 24/7 access to all sorts of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, free of charge! It's definitely worth every penny! The onsen is lovely, small but has everything you need and was very relaxing! I highly recommend this hotel!

This traditional Japanese ryokan features a private onsen and is located about 8 minutes on foot from the main road with restaurants and 20 minutes from the entrance to Jigokudani (Hell Valley). The interior is beautifully maintained in classic style, with tatami flooring throughout the common areas and guest rooms, which are furnished with comfortable futon bedding. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped with amenities. Anything not already provided can be taken from the selection near the reception. Guests receive a yukata to wear around the ryokan and to the onsen. Complimentary drinks are available at reception, though they request you enjoy them in your room rather than common areas. The gender-separated onsen, while small, has everything needed for a relaxing soak. Each bathing area includes both indoor and outdoor pools, and they alternate daily between men's and women's use. During my stay, it was never crowded. One disappointment was being unable to book the in-room dinner service upon morning arrival, as it was apparently too late to arrange. Those interested should probably reserve at least a day in advance. Overall, it's a comfortable, authentic ryokan experience with superb service and good facilities.

The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. However, there are a few areas for improvement. 1. The hairdryer motor in the first-floor public bath was incredibly dusty. I didn't use it because I was afraid it would cause hair problems if I dried it with it. 2. I opened the futon in the tatami room, but when I folded it, I found a lot of dust. I wondered if the bedding was well-maintained. I had a good night's rest, but at this price, I wouldn't hesitate to return.

It's a little way from the hot springs, but it's quiet. I stayed here for the second time. Just like ten years ago, the hot springs and food are just as good as before! The hotel has a bus to Noboribetsu Station, which is very convenient. I will come again next time.
