K's House Nikko - Kinugawa Onsen Hostel Reviews

The best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a hostel. Nice big spacious room. Good Onsen overlooking the forest. Super market 10 minutes walk. A bit far from nearest bus stop and train station if you have many luggage.

Great stay, clean rooms, fantastic common areas, and incredible quiet location. The onsen was amazing as well.

This is the perfect place to stay in Nikko and my favourite so far in Japan! Beautiful, modern and clean rooms and common areas, excellent Onsen and the most friendly, kind and helpful staff! It’s so calm and relaxing. Perfect to recharge your batteries! After three nights I just wish I could have stayed longer.

We stayed 2 nights. We Like The onsen and the common area. It’s a pity the onsen is not open in the morning. Location wise, it’s a 10mins walk from the train station.

The hotel is located in Nikko, a 30-minute drive from the World Heritage Site (Toshogu Shrine). There are large supermarkets and drugstores nearby, and many hotels in the area; this hotel offers relatively good value. The hotel does not offer its own restaurants, but it has a kitchen and dining area that you can use freely. The onsen (hot spring) is also very nice. Although the hotel is a bit old, it is very clean. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance.

Aside from being a bit far from the subway and not easy to find, this hotel is almost perfect and highly recommended.

There are bed bugs in the room, no TV or kettle in the room, and what is even more surprising is that there are no yukatas in the hot spring hotel. Although a lounge is provided, there are no meals. Most of the people there are foreigners. There is nothing good to eat or play around. The outdoor scenery is nice, that's all.

Very good hostel, better than in the pictures. We had a room for 4 people with private toilet, only the shower to share. The onsen is very clean and contains two pools inside and outside. Two washing machines and two dryers are available with additional payment. Kitchen is big and clean. The hotel is far from the main activity of Nikko (Nikkō Tōshō-gū and a hike with waterfalls). The train system even if you take Nikko pass in Tokyo is not perfect because it requires to take additional tickets for an express train, because it is not included in the pass.

It is about a 5-minute drive from Kinugawa JR Station. It is suitable for self-driving tours. Guests have a hot spring discount, only 450 yen per room. The hot spring environment is good, the Japanese-style room has a good view, and the decoration is relatively new. The staff are warm and courteous, and are willing to help provide information about eating, drinking, and entertainment. They are also very useful. The izakaya they introduced produces delicious food at affordable prices and is open until 11 p.m.

It was not in a remote place and there was a grocery store nearby, so it was very convenient. The room was spacious and the hot spring water was good. It was especially nice to be able to eat and relax in the lounge on the first floor. I think it will remain a good memory ^^

There are few places to eat around, good supermarkets, and convenient cooking
